GENERAL ADVICE ON BATTERY POWERED ELECTRIC TOOLS
• Only use a battery charger recommended by the manufacturer. Battery
chargers designed for a dierent type of battery can overheat and
catch fire.
• Only use batteries recommended by the manufacturer. The wrong type
of battery can cause personal injury or fire.
• When not in use, batteries should not be stored close to metal objects,
such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal
objects that can short circuit the battery poles. A short circuit can
cause a fire.
4

• Using batteries incorrectly can cause the battery fluid to leak. Avoid
contact with battery fluid. If you get battery fluid on your skin, rinse your
skin immediately with water. Seek medical help if you get battery fluid
in your eyes. Battery fluid irritates skin and can cause burn injuries.
• Check that the power tool is switched o before you connect the battery.
There is a risk of personal injury if the switch is in the on position
when you connect the battery.
• Remove the plug from the electricity socket when you clean the batter
charger.
• Do not expose the battery to strong sunlight for long periods. Do not
leave batteries on hot surfaces, e.g. a heater or radiator. Heat damages
batteries and leads to a risk of explosion.
• Leave batteries to cool before charging them.
• Avoid causing mechanical damage to batteries. Never open a battery –
risk of short circuit.
• Do not use non-rechargeable batteries.
USE OF BATTERY CHARGER
• Only use the battery charger enclosed with the trimmer. Using a dierent
battery charger can cause a fire or explosion.
• Always check the battery charger, plug and power cable before use.
Do not use the battery charger if it has any sign of damage. Do not
attempt to repair or open the battery charger.
• Check that the power socket is the same voltage as that stated on the
battery charger label. Risk of electric shock!
• Keep the battery charger clean and dry. Do not expose it to rain or
damp. Do not use the battery charger outdoors. Dirt and damp in the
battery charger increases the risk of an electric shock.
• Use the battery charger with the original battery only. Charging other
types of battery can result in personal injury or fire.
• Check that there is no mechanical damage to the battery charger.
Mechanical damage can lead to an internal short circuit.
• Do not place the battery charger on a combustible surface when in use
(e.g. paper or cloth). Risk of fire.
• If the power cable to the battery charger is damaged, it must be
repaired by a qualified electrician. Risk of personal injury!
