This device is meant to manage one solenoid valve and an external pulse counter, allowing to show the fluid volume
that is being dispensed when a transaction is carried out.
• The U·count unit is intended to be integrated into a fluid monitoring system.

The device has 3 screen display modes, named “standby
mode, “standard” mode and “XXL” mode.
The “standby” mode (figure 1) is the display mode shown
when no transaction is in progress. While a transaction is
being made, the screen will show the “standard” mode
(figure 2) or the “XXL” (figure 3) according to the device
configuration (see the “menu configuration” section for
more details).
Depending on the screen mode, the unit address (1), the
fluid volume dispensed (2), the progress status bar of the
transaction (3) or the indicator which shows that the
solenoid valve is open (4), will be displayed.

INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION
The description below contains an explanation about the
device configuration, the end of line resistor and the
screen display mode.
For more details about the installation and configuration,
check out the “installer’s guide” of the management system.
ELECTRICAL WIRING
WARNING: Disconnect the power source before
servicing or repairing electrical equipment.
DATA AND POWER BUS CONNECTION
1. Strip the end of the CAN-Bus cable (381 954) (fig. 4).
2. Connect each wire of the CAN-Bus cable to the
provided 5 pole male plug (951 880) (fig. 5).
Depending on installation layout, it may not be necessary
to plug both CAN-Bus connectors.

PULSE METER WIRING
Follow the next procedure:
1. Open the device and pass the pulse meter cable
through one of the cable glands (1).
2. Make the connection according to the type of pulse meter:
2a. One channel pulse meter:
Connect both wires of the pulse meter to terminals
“A” (2) and “COM” (3) of the U·count electronic
board.

PULSE METER WIRING
2b. Double channel pulse meter:
Connect the COM terminal (4) of the pulse meter
to the COM terminal (5) of the U•count electronic
board. Connect terminal “A” (6) of the pulser to
terminal “B” (7) of the U•count. At last, connect
terminal “B” (8) of the pulser to terminal “A” (9) of
U·count electronic board.
SOLENOID VALVE WIRING
In order to make the solenoid valve wiring, pass the cable
through one of the equipment cable glands, and then
connect both wires to the “S.V. OUT” terminal (10) of the
electronic board.
Once the equipment has been wired, mount the back cover
taking special care that the cables are not damaged and
adjusting their length if necessary.

DEVICE ATTACHMENT
The device attachment can be done through the blind holes (1) by using 4 mm diameter self-tapping screws. The
attachment holes (2) are used in case of flush mount installation by using the screws supplied.
If required, the equipment can be fixed from its inner part following the next procedure:
1. Remove the screws (3) and remove the front cover (4).
2. Remove the plugs (5).
3. Fix the back cover of the equipment (6), previously wired, with 2 screws (7).
4. Wire the electronic board, reassemble the front cover (4) and fix the screws (3).

LED AND DIAGNOSTIC INDICATORS
LED DESCRIPTION
S.V. ON
(1)
Led on indicates that the solenoid valve
controlled by the units is open. In normal
standby state, this LED should not be on.
BY-PASS
(2)
Led on indicates that the solenoid valve
controlled by the unit is open due to
manual operation by the supervisor. In
normal operating state, this LED must
be off.
ONLINE
(3)
Led on indicates that the device is
correctly connected to the installation.
E.O.L
(4)
Led on indicates that the terminating
resistor is activated.
In the “standby” mode, the firmware version installed on
the unit and the supply voltage are displayed on the
screen by pressing the “SET” or “ENTER” button.
PAIRING WITH A U·VISION UNIT
This unit is equipped with a wireless connection so that it can be paired with a U·Vision or U·Vision+ gun.
Consult the U·Vision instruction manual for further information.

CONFIGURATION MENU
Once the unit is connected, follow the next procedure to access the configuration menu:
1. To Access the configuration menu, press and hold both the SET and ENTER buttons simultaneously until the display
shows “LOCAL SETUP”
2. Then, “ADD” is displayed on the screen to indicate that the local address can be set. Automatically a counter is
displayed. The count is incremented from one to 126. When the desired address number is displayed, press ENTER
to confirm the number. If you want to reset the counter, press SET.
3. Once the address is confirmed, “E.O.L” is displayed on the screen to set the end of line resistor. “ON” (led “E.O.L”
on) or “OFF” (led “EOL” off) is displayed according to the last saved status. To change the status, press the “SET”
button and then press ENTER to confirm.
4. “MODE” is displayed on the screen to set the display mode during a transaction. To change the mode, press SET
until the desired mode, “STD” (standard) or “XXL” are displayed. Once the mode is set, press “ENTER” to confirm.
5. “OK!” is displayed on the screen and the unit restarts showing the standby screen.

El equipo posee 3 modos de visualización de pantalla,
denominados modo “standby”, modo “standard” y modo
“XXL”.
El modo standby (figura 1) es el modo de visualización
cuando no hay ninguna transacción en curso. Mientras
una transacción se está ejecutando la pantalla mostrará el
modo “standard” (figura 2) o el modo “XXL” (figura 3)
según configuración del equipo (ver apartado “menú
configuración” para más detalles).
En función del modo de pantalla, se podrá visualizar la
dirección (1), la cantidad dispensada (2), la barra de
progreso de la transacción (3) y el indicador (4) de que la
electroválvula está abierta.

Se describe a continuación la configuración de la dirección
del equipo, de la resistencia terminadora y del modo de
visualización de pantalla.
Para más detalles sobre instalación y configuración
adicional consulte la “Guía del instalador” del sistema de
gestión.
CONEXIONES ELÉCTRICAS
IMPORTANTE: Asegúrese de que la alimentación
eléctrica de la unidad está desconectada antes de
efectuar cualquier operación sobre la misma.
CONEXIÓN DEL BUS DE DATOS Y
ALIMENTACIÓN
1. Pele el extremo del cable CAN-Bus (381 954) (fig. 4).
2. Conecte los conductores individuales del cable CAN-Bus
al conector macho enchufable de 5 polos (951 880),
suministrado con el equipo (fig. 5).
Dependiendo de la topología de la instalación, puede no
ser necesario conectar ambos puertos CAN bus.

CONEXIÓN DEL CONTADOR DE PULSOS
Para realizar el cableado siga el siguiente procedimiento:
1. Abra el equipo y pase el cable del contador de pulsos a
través de uno de los prensaestopas (1).
2. Realice la conexión según el tipo de contador de pulsos:
2a. Contador de pulsos de 1 canal.
Conectar los 2 cables del contador de pulsos a los
terminales “A“ (2) y “COM“ (3) de la tarjeta
electrónica.

CONEXIÓN DEL CONTADOR DE PULSOS
2b. Contador de pulsos de doble canal.
Conectar el terminal COM (4) del contador de
pulsos al terminal COM (5) de la tarjeta electrónica
U·count. Conectar el terminal “A” (6) del pulser al
terminal “B” (7) de la tarjeta electrónica U·count.
Conectar el terminal “B” (8) del pulser al terminal
“A” (9) de tarjeta electrónica U·count.
CONEXIÓN DE LA ELECTROVÁLVULA
Para cablear la electroválvula, pase el cable por uno de los
prensaestopas del equipo y, a continuación, conecte los
cables al terminal “S.V. OUT” (10) de la tarjeta electrónica.
Una vez realizado el cableado del equipo, monte la carcasa
trasera poniendo especial cuidado de que los cables no se
dañan y ajustando su longitud si fuese necesario.
