SAMSUNG UDC AND UEC

SERIES VIDEO DISPLAYS

Create vibrant video walls with powerful and versatile LED displays.

Promote fresh, vibrant messaging and stand above the competition

Create a video wall to match the imagination of your business. Samsung LED large format displays (LFDs) help

you garner the attention you’re looking for and keep audiences engaged.

Thanks to Samsung video displays, managers or sta of retail establishments, restaurants, conference centres,

shopping malls and hotels can design near-continuous video walls with full high-denition picture quality.

The UDC, UDC-B and UEC Series displays come in various sizes and are easy to install right out of the box.

The UEC Series oers narrow bezels and the UDC and UDC-B Series have ultra-narrow bezels to the overall style

and environment of your business. These displays are designed for easy installation and comes with various

conguration options. Samsung LED backlight technology helps reduce costs by consuming 40 percent less1

power than cold cathode uorescent lamp (CCFL) LCDs. The LED LFDs are free from harmful materials.

The basic UDC-B is available in a 46-inch display, while the UDC and UEC LFDs are available in 46-inch

and 55-inch models.

The UDC, UDC-B and UEC Series displays help client to do the following:

• Grab the attention of potential customers with narrow bezel widths and uniform colour.

Narrow and ultra-narrow bezel widths help create near-seamless video walls.

• Augmented colour calibration helps with colour uniformity,

and enhanced factory colour tuning helps match the colour

temperature across multiple displays.

• Control the display and content with the Samsung Smart

Signage Platform. Enhanced built-in functions eliminate the

need to purchase a separate PC to run the displays.

• Reduce expenses while promoting critical promotional

information in a striking medium. Companies save on

energy costs with Samsung LED backlight technology and

DisplayPort®(DP) 1.2 multi-stream support.

• Customize installations to support business goals. Users

can create a video wall that meets company objectives with

versatile installation options and accessories.

publicize their goods or services.

Extend your video wall seamlessly with narrow

and ultra-narrow bezels

Now displays can easily and aesthetically connect with

one another to create larger, more impactful video walls.

The Samsung UDC, UDC-B and UEC Series displays feature

narrow and ultra-narrow bezels to create a borderless eect

when connected with each other. The UEC model has a

narrow bezel of 11 mm (0.43 in), while the UDC and UDC-B

models have an ultra-narrow bezel of 5.5 mm (0.22 in.).

Capture customer attention with clear,

bright text and images

Take full advantage of your business’s environment.

Samsung UDC, UDC-B and UEC Series LFDs are designed to

help businesses with limited space create memorable video

walls. The improved video wall colour calibration also helps

create an enjoyable viewing experience.

Enhanced colour calibration for

colour uniformity

Use brighter, more engaging colour schemes when

displaying your messages to grab customer attention.

Samsung UDC, UDC-B and UEC Series LFDs are equipped

with enhanced factory colour tuning software that uses

colour temperature matching to produce brighter, more

powerful pictures and graphics.

Now you can take full manual control over the colour

management of your content. Advanced Colour

Management (ACM) has been improved for usability and

performance. The calibration speed is increased, and the

user interface (UI) is enhanced for more detailed colour

management.

Keep your video wall displays consistent while keeping your

operational costs down. With the factory colour calibration

and ACM software, you can save on total cost of ownership

(TCO). These displays eliminate the need to invest in colour

management solutions by helping you manage colour

uniformity across your video walls.

Built-in software solutions eliminate the need for an external PC

Save on costs, maintenance and regular content management with Samsung’s built-in content software.

The platform’s media player functions eliminate the need to purchase, install or use an external PC.

Built within a microchip, the internal media player features

the following components:

• A 1 GHz dual CPU with a cache size of 512 KB.

• 1 GB double data rate 3 (DDR3) dual 32-bit memory.

• A video processor with full codec, high-performance

Microsoft®Windows® Media Video (WMV), MP4 and

H.264 capabilities.

• A storage solid state disk (SSD) of 4 GB to 8 GB

of memory (2 GB is occupied by the OS).

• Professional signage software with

MagicInfo™S Premium.

With the Samsung MagicInfo Video wall software, the UDC and UEC Series displays can also be set up diagonally.

This unique function allows you to be more exible when designing engaging content.

Connect multiple displays for a highly engaging, high-denition experience

Now you can connect multiple displays to create a video wall large enough for your company’s vision.

The Samsung UDC and UEC Series displays oer high-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) daisy chain

connections. By supporting HDCP daisy chain connectivity, content from live TV or a Blu-ray Disc™ can be

controlled from a single local display without an HDCP distributor. With no complex distributors to connect,

a digital daisy chain has a maximum loop out of 100 displays.

Additionally, the UDC and UEC Series displays oer ultra-high

denition (UHD) resolution through DP 1.2 multi-streaming.

A video wall of up to four units (2 x 2) can have UHD resolution

multi-streaming without additional equipment.

Flexible plug-and-play content display options

Figure 5. Samsung Smart Signage Platform helps make

business messages stand out from the competition.

Figure 6. UDC and UEC Series displays oer

UHD resolution of 3,860 x 2,160 for a 2 x 2 wall.

Heightened overall picture quality while

saving on energy costs

Now you can generate deeper, more intense blacks

and continue to save on energy costs. Samsung UDC

and UEC Series displays oer a dimming solution that

generates deeper black tones by controlling the LED

BLU (backlight unit). The result is sharper, more vibrant

images, thanks to the overall heightened picture quality.

The backlight dimming technology reduces costs by

consuming 40 percent less power than CCFL LCDs,

(based on an internal Samsung test). The technology

is also free of harmful materials, such as mercury or

halogen, contributing to a healthier environment.

Congure displays to t your space

Now businesses can create individualized video walls

with multiple installation options. Thanks to the

exibility of Samsung UDC, UDC-B and UEC displays,

companies can use a wall or oor stand to position

displays in various congurations.

Construct a video wall even when space is limited

No matter how your company’s space is designed,

the narrow depth of the UDC, UDC-B and UEC Series of

displays can still t perfectly. Each display is designed

to enable placement in tight areas such as behind

counters and display cases. The UDC and UDC-B models

oer slim proles of 96 mm (3.78 in.), and the UEC

model features a depth of only 29.9 mm (1.18 in.).

Use the oor stand or mount them on the wall

With the help of Samsung’s versatile installation

accessories, owners and managers can nd the exact

Samsung LFD to t their business needs. Accessories

such as a oor stand, a mobile Internet device (MID) and

wall brackets enable business owners to easily place

video displays in the best locations.

Sharp picture quality in almost any space

Figure 7. Samsung LED backlight technology uses less

power for optimal energy eciency.

Figure 8. Displays can be installed in narrow areas.

Figure 9. Floor stands and expandable wall mounts provide

various custom congurations to t almost any need.

Preserve a high image quality no matter

the orientation

Now it doesn’t matter if your content is in landscape

or portrait mode, the UDC and UEC Series displays

oer Auto Image Rotation. Auto Image Rotation allows

for greater display exibility thanks to two resolution

options: original resolution and auto full-sizing

resolution. Both selections retain the high resolution of

the original image.

Built-in connectivity for reduced

equipment costs

Samsung UDC and UEC Series displays cut down on

costs by eliminating the need to purchase separate video

signal distributors. The powerful built-in RJ45, RS-232C

connections and Digital Visual Interface (DVI) loop allow

a single image to be shared with nearby displays.

Easily create and control engaging, seamless video walls

Figure 10. Portrait to landscape image rotation enhances

usability with no loss of resolution.

Figure 11. UDC and UEC Series displays enable RJ45 and

RS-232C connectivity simultaneously.

Create and display attention-grabbing messages

Samsung UDC, UDC-B and UEC Series LED LFDs help companies stir client interest with vibrant images and clear,

crisp graphics. The displays help control costs while advertising through a distinctive medium with the following:

• Virtually uninterrupted video walls with narrow and ultra-narrow bezels.

• Uniform brightness and colour temperatures across the display, with colour tuning and calibration software.

• The Samsung Smart Signage Platform for UDC and UEC Series screens, which eliminates the need to purchase a

separate PC to run content displayed over a video wall.

• DP 1.2 multi-stream support for UHD on UDC and UEC Series displays.

• Samsung LED backlight technology for UDC and UEC Series displays, which oers a dimming solution that shows

deeper black tones and lowers energy costs by controlling the LED BLU.

• Auto Image Rotation, which allows businesses to change the picture of UDC and UEC Series monitors without

changing the physical setup.
