SAFETY WARNING
Working safely with this tool is only possible when the operating and safety information are read
completely and the instructions contained therein are strictly followed. The manual shall be kept at
a known location easily accessible for operators and maintenance staff. ALWAYS WEAR PERSON-
AL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT LIKE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, SHOES AND ETC. Concentrate your
attention on the work. Bear the potential risk of accidents in mind to ensure that they do not occur.
Use your common sense and do not operate the compressor if you are ill, tired or under the influ-
ence of alcohol or drugs. ONLY qualified and experienced persons should operate the compressor.
• Check the unit for full functional capability before each use. If the functional capability
is not ensured or if damage is detected, STOP USING the compressor immediately and
contact your dealer!
• Do not make any construction changes to the unit.
• Use only suitable jaws for the springs. Ensure that the spring is positioned correctly in the
jaws. The centre line of the spring must be centred in both jaws.
• When compressing the spring, the spring windings should not come in contact with each
other.
• Only use air wrench with the supplied torque stick providing a 40 Nm torque limit.
• Handle compressed spring with extreme care. Never drop or hit on compressed spring,
since this can cause serious injury.
• Use only for spring types mentioned in the operating instruction.
• Always keep the workplace clean and tidy.
• Do not use the compressor for other purposes than it was designed for and DO NOT OVER-
LOAD the compressor.
• Before and during the clamping process as well as after each operation, make sure, that the
spring is correctly seated in the compressor.
• Do not lean over the compressor, when in use, to make sure that even in case the spring
releases unintendedly it will not hit the user.
• Do not leave compressed spring unattended.
• For indoor use only.
• Store the compressor in a dry place.

WARNING
The coil spring compressor is exclusively for compressing Wishbone
and Multilink systems. This product is not for conical springs and
ball springs. Any other or further use is considered as not intended.

OPERATION WARNING
HOWTO DETACH THE SPRING FORMTHE VEHICLE. BEFORE EACH OPERATION, CHECK
VEHICLE SPRING AND MAKE SURE, THAT SPRING COMPRESSOR IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL
AND NOT DAMAGED IN ANY WAY.
• Before placing the coil spring compressor onto the spring, lift the vehicle until the wheel
is completely free from the ground. Use jack stand to support the vehicle. Make sure that
the vehicle is braked on level and firm ground. And make sure that the vehicle cannot move
during the operation.
• Place the coil spring compressor inside the spring and mount the
lower jaw as low as possible between two spring windings. Make sure
to use the RIGHT SIZE of jaws. The spring must rest securely in the
jaws. Make sure, the spring is clean were the jaws are mounted on the
windings. Wipe away any grease and dirt.
• Adjust the compressor to proper length. Place the upper jaw as high as
possible in the spring windings to compress as many spring windings
as possible.
• Take care that the seating of the spring windings in the jaws is correct.
Spring compressor shall be in the centre of spring windings (see figure
1).
• Hold on to the upper jaw until the spring is firmly fixed in the jaws.
• Compress the spring by driving the torque stick with an air wrench or a
ratchet spanner.
• Only use air wrench with the supplied torque stick providing a 40 Nm
torque limit.
• STOP compressing before the windings of the spring touch each other.
• Do not continue to drive when the upper or lower travel ends of the
spring compressor are reached.
• After the spring is properly compressed, remove spring compressor (with spring) from the
vehicle.
• Move spring compressor SLOWLY and CAREFULLY to a work bench. Place the compressor
in a bench vice equipped for clamping round objects and fixate it by clamping the jaw (see
figure 2). NEVER CLAMP ON THE SPRING.
• SLOWLY and CAREFULLY release the spring compressor and remove the spring from it.
Please always take care during the entire operation and avoid standing in hazardous posi-
tions in case the spring releases unintendedly.

HOWTO MOUNTTHE SPRING ON A CAR
• STEP 1
Make sure that both jaws are correctly
mounted.
• STEP 2
Preload the coil spring compressor. Make
sure that the jaws are STILL correctly po-
sitioned after preload and that they cannot
slip off the compressor. (see figure 1).
• STEP 3
Place the spring compressor with spring in
a bench vice equipped for clamping round
objects and fixate it by clamping the jaw.
NEVER clamp on the spring. Tighten the vice
enough to prevent the jaw from rotating
during the compressing operation. DO NOT
clamp too tight, since this may damage the
jaw. Do not exceed the max torque of 40 Nm
as this could damage the compressor. STOP
compressing before the windings of the
spring touch each other. Do not continue to
drive when the upper or lower travel ends of
the spring compressor are reached. Please
always take care during the entire operation
and stand beside the compressor NOT in line
with the spring central axis to prevent injury
in case the spring releases unintendedly.
• STEP 4
Mount spring compressor on the vehicle at
the right position. SLOWLY and CAREFULLY
release the spring compressor. Make sure
that the spring is mounted correctly and
then remove the spring compressor.

MAINTENANCE PERSONAL should be qualified and trained in the compressor functions and failure
modes, their rectification, operation and maintenance of the product.
• Check the tool before use. If you find any damage or deformation, please stop use immedi-
ately and contact manufacturer for help. Never try to repair the product yourself.
• Store the unit in a dry place. Store the jaws together with the compressor.
• Always keep the unit dry and clean.
• Grease the guide spindle if necessary, however at least every six months. Clean the spindle
before greasing. Recommended grease: graphite grease.
• Do not try to repair or disassemble the spring compressor. Please contact your dealer.
• Please include the serial number for all inquiries.

Die Bedienungsanleitung ist an einer bekannten und für Bedienungs- und Wartungspersonal

spanner bedienen.
• Vor jeder Benutzung das Gerät auf seine volle Funktionsfähigkeit untersuchen. Ist die Funk-
tionsfähigkeit nicht gewährleistet oder werden Schäden festgestellt, darf das Gerät nicht
verwendet werden. Setzen Sie sich mit Ihrem Händler in Verbindung.
• Nehmen Sie keine bauartbedingten Veränderungen an dem Gerät vor.
• Nur geeignete Federhalter für die Federn einsetzen. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Feder
korrekt in den Federhaltern sitzt. Die Mittellinie der Feder muss mitten in beiden Federhal-
tern liegen.
• Beim Spannen der Feder dürfen sich die Federwindungen nicht berühren.
• Nur Druckluftschlagschrauber zusammen mit dem mitgelieferten Drehmomentstab mit 40
Nm Begrenzung benutzen.
• Gespannte Feder extrem vorsichtig behandeln. Zusammengespannte Feder niemals fallen
lassen oder anschlagen, da dies zu schweren Schäden führen kann.
• Nur für die in dieser Bedienungsanleitung erwähnten Federtypen verwenden.
• Arbeitsplatz stets sauber und ordentlich halten.
• Verwenden Sie nicht den Federspanner für nicht bestimmungsgemäße Aufgaben und
ÜBERLASTEN SIE IHN NICHT.
• Vor und während des Einspannens und nach jedem neuen Arbeitsschritt muss die korrekte
Lage der Feder in den Federhaltern kontrolliert werden.
• Beugen Sie sich nicht über den Federspanner während des Arbeitsvorgangs, damit sie nicht
in der Flugbahn sind, falls sich die Feder unabsichtlich auslösen sollte.
• Nie eine zusammengespannte Feder unbeaufsichtigt lassen.
• Nur für den Einsatz in Innenräumen.
• Den Federspanner an einem trockenen Ort aufbewahren.

BEDIENUNGSHINWEISE
FEDER VOM FAHRZEUG AUSBAUEN. VOR JEDEM EINSATZ DIE FAHRZEUGFEDER ÜBER-
PRÜFEN UND VERGEWISSERN, DASS DER FEDERSPANNER VOLL FUNKTIONSFÄHIG
UND NICHT IN IRGEND EINER WEISE DEFEKTIST.
• Bevor der Federspanner an der Feder angebracht wird, den Wagen vom Boden abheben, bis
das Rad frei drehen kann. Stützböcke zur Unterstützung des Fahrzeuges verwenden. Verge-
wissern Sie sich, dass das Fahrzeug auf ebenem und festem Boden gebremst ist. Und, dass
das Fahrzeug während des Vorgangs sich nicht bewegen kann.
• Den Federspanner in der Mitte der Feder anbringen und den unteren
Federhalter möglichst niedrig zwischen zwei Federwindungen
einsetzen. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie die RICHTIGE FEDER-
HALTERGRÖßE verwenden. Die Feder muß sicher in den Federhaltern
liegen. Darauf achten, dass die Feder sauber ist, da wo die Federhalter
greifen. Fett und Schmutz entfernen.
• Die Federhalter entsprechend der Federlänge auseinanderfahren.
Der obere Federhalter möglichst hoch zwischen den Federwindungen
einsetzen, um möglichst viele Windungen spannen zu können.
• Seien Sie vorsichtig, dass die Feder korrekt in den Federhaltern liegt.
Der Federspanner muss im Zentrum der Federwindungen liegen (siehe
Abb. 1).
• Den oberen Federhalter stützen, bis die Feder sicher im Griff der
Federhalter liegt.
• Die Feder durch Drehen des Momentstabs mit einem Drucklufts-
chlagschrauber oder Ratsche zusammenspannen.
• Nur Druckluftschlagschrauber zusammen mit dem mitgelieferten
Drehmomentstab mit 40 Nm Begrenzung benutzen.
• Das Spannen der Feder einstellen, bevor die Federwindungen einander
berühren.
• Nicht weiterschrauben, wenn das obere oder untere Hubende erreicht ist.
• Federspanner (mit zusammengespannter Feder) vom Fahrzeug entfernen.
• Federspanner langsam und vorsichtig auf die Werkbank bringen. Den Federspanner in
einem Schraubstock mit Backen für runde Werkstoffe durch Klemmen des Federhalters
einspannen. (Siehe Abb. 2). NIEMALS AUF DIE FEDER KLEMMEN.
• Federbeinspanner LANGSAM und VORSICHTIG entspannen, bis dieser von der Feder
genommen werden kann. Seien Sie immer vorsichtig während des Arbeitsvorgangs und
stehen Sie nicht in der Flugbahn, falls sich die Feder unabsichtlich auslösen sollte.
• Federspanner nach Gebrauch an einem sicheren Ort aufbewahren.
