05 1. Preparation.
1.1 Delivery
On receiving the product, please check it for completeness, lack of faults
and any transport damage. Inspect the goods in the presence of your
forwarder. Should transport damage have occurred, please arrange for
an inventory (determination of the faults) to be made in the presence of
the forwarder. Please send a complaint in writing to the specialist dealer
responsible.
1.2 Safety measures prior to use
The correct use of the product requires a detailed and careful instruction
of the user or the accompanying person. We ask you to read through the
Instructions for use carefully prior to initial commissioning of the product,
and to observe them. It is possible that product parts that get in contact
with the skin may heat up in the sun. Cover these areas or protect the
device from direct sunlight.
1.3 Safe disposal
In order to preserve and protect the environment, to prevent environmental
pollution and to improve the recycling of raw materials, please note the
disposal instructions in points 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.
1.3.1 Packaging
The packaging of the product should be kept for any future transport that
might be required. Should you have to return the product for repairs or in
case of a guarantee claim, please if possible use the original box so that
the product is optimally packaged. Otherwise, separate the packaging
materials for recycling according to their classification.
Do not leave packaging materials unattended, as they are a possible source of
danger.
1.3.2 Product
Attheendoftheproductlifecycle,recycletherawmaterialsusedintheproduct
according to their nature (see material information under point 2.1).
1.4 Where to store the Instructions for use
Please store these Instructions for use carefully and ensure that these In-
structions for use remain with the product in case of re-use. Should you
lose the instructions, you can always download an updated version at

2.1 Material information
The base frame as well as the individual elements are made from pow-
der-coated aluminium and are therefore free from corrosion. The covers
are made of 100% polyester and are flame resistant (according to DIN EN
1021-1+2). The upholstery is also made of 100% polyester.
2.2 Handling and transport
The rehab buddy is not intended for
carrying, since it is equipped with
wheels. Should you have to carry the
equipment due to obstacles, ensu-
re that all moving parts are tighte-
ned. Position one person before and
behind the rehab buggy and hold it
from the push bar (A) at the rear and
front left and right on the frame (B)
and then carry it to the desired loca-
tion. Please test the driving behaviour
(pushing and steering) first without
and then with user.
The buggy must be tilted to overcome
elevations (see Point 2.2.4).
2.2.1 Folding the frame
The rehab buggy can be folded for
transport. Please remove the foot
support beforehand (C). To do this,
push both pushbuttons (D) below
the foot support and pull it away
to the front. Disassembly or remo-
ve also any accessories (e.g. the
canopy, seat reducer...). Bring the
backrest in an upright position
(see Point 3.1). Now press the push-
button (E) on the push bar and fold it.
Now pull on the back of the handle (F)
and at the same time press the
folding push bar downwards, thus
folding the entire rehab buggy.

In order to better store the buggy e.g.
in the car, the wheels can be removed.
In order to better store the rehab
buggy e.g. in the car, all wheels can
also be removed.
To do this, press the pushbuttons (A)
on the rear wheels and at the same
time pull out the wheels to the side.
For the front wheels, press the push-
buttons (B) and at the same time pull
away the wheels downwards.
To prevent the rehab buggy from un-
folding on its own during transport,
it is equipped with a safety loop (C).
Here there are two eyelets (D) availa-
ble for mounting.
2.2.2 Unfold frame
In order to be able to unfold the re-
hab buggy again, first the wheels
must be mounted. Insert them back
into the slots provided and make
sure that each wheel audibly clicks
back into place. Undo the safety loop
(C) and put the rehab buggy up-
right again. Pull the push bar (E) to
the back until the pushbutton (F) au-
dibly clicks back into place. Finally
press onto the foot pedal (G) with
your foot until the handle (H) audibly
clicks back into place.
Ensure that all elements audibly click
back into place when unfolding the
rehab buggy.

2.2.3 Locking the rear wheels
To secure the rehab buggy against
unintentional rolling away (e.g.
when sitting down and leaving it),
it is equipped with a parking brake
that can be operated centrally. This
allowsthetworearwheelstobebraked
simultaneously.
To do this, press down the brake
lever (A) on the rear right wheel with
your foot. To release the parking bra-
ke, press up the brake lever (A) with
your foot.
2.2.4 Tilting aid
The rehab buggy is equipped with a
tilting aid (B). Press on it with your foot
if, for example, you want to get over a
kerb or other elevation.
2.2.5 Securing the user
The piper. rehab buggy is equipped
as standard with a 5-point harness
that must be used to secure the
user. To set the desired length of the
straps, place the user in the buggy
and adjust the straps with the pla-
stic buckles. To close the 5-point
harness, open the hook and loop
closure of the crotch belt (C) and
undo the fork-like quick closures (D),
place the user into the buggy, positi-
on the shoulder belts (E) and close the
quick closures and the hook and loop
closure (C). Open the 5-point harness
again by pressing on the sides of the
quick closures.

2.3 Application areas, use according to the intended purpose
The piper. rehab buggy is designed to secure mobility in outdoor areas, if
transport needs to be carried out regularly over short distances. The ma-
ximum load of 50 kg must not be exceeded. The piper. rehab buggy is
suited exclusively for use by an accompanying person and not intended
for transport in a vehicle.
2.3.1 Indication
Considerable to fully pronounced impairment of mobility/walking in chil-
dren with structural and/or functional damage to the lower extremities
(including amputation, consequences of injury, musculoskeletal/neuromu-
sculoskeletal movement disorders) exceeding the physiological onset of
gait.
2.3.2 Contraindications
In general, the indications for provision of a rehab buggy should be appro-
ved by a doctor or orthopaedist. It should therefore be clarified prior to
procurement whether contraindications exist for the patient. In general,
any type of pain represents a contraindication.
2.4 Use not in accordance with the intended purpose / warning guide-
lines
• The correct use of the rehab buggy requires a precise and thorough
training of the accompanying person.
• Practice handling piper. on even ground. You must also research the
eects of shifts in the centre of gravity on the behaviour of the piper. Try
tilting with the tilting aid (see Point 2.2.4) and the shift in the centre of
gravity at first without occupants.
• Before using the rehab buggy ensure that all frame elements and
wheels have audibly clicked in (see Point 2.2.2).
• The piper. rehab buggy is not suited for children below the age
of 6 months.
• The piper. rehab buggy must not be used for jogging or inline skating.
• The piper. rehab buggy must not be used without supervision. Not even
when the 5-point harness and central parking brake are in use.
• Stairs may only be attempted with accompanying persons.
• The max. load (see Point 6) may not be exceeded.
• Do not use the calf support, backrest and foot support for carrying the
product. Only carry it by fixed frame parts.
• Always tighten the screws again after replacing parts.

• Do not step on the foot support when sitting down or leaving the buggy.
• When sitting down and leaving the buggy, activate the centrally opera-
ted parking brake of the rear wheels (see Point 2.2.3).
• Do not use piper. with defective, worn or missing parts.
• Use only accessories and spare parts from Patron, as otherwise you will
endanger the user`s safety.
• Use the rehab buggy only when all components are attached and
set correctly.
• When using the rehab buggy, keep any extremities away from
moving parts.
• When folding the piper. there is the risk of jamming or crushing
the extremities.
• Read these operating instructions carefully before using the buggy for
the first time. The user`s safety can be endangered, if you do not follow
the instructions and safety information in these instructions for use.
• The rehab buggy is not intended for transporting a user in a vehicle.
• Users who have dicult reading must have someone read these instruc-
tions for use aloud so that they understand how o use the rehab buggy.
