Procedure
Description of Service Bulletin
This service bulletin relates to the firmware update procedure for LMS2
display modules.

The following tools are required for the memory card update:
1. Small Phillips Head Screwdriver to remove memory card from
display
2. Magnetic digital spirit level
Memory Card Update Procedure
The following procedure is required to update the memory cards:

1. Move the machine to a flat – level surface and lower the boom
to 0.0°, confirm the chassis is level in both the lateral and
longitudinal directions using a digital spirit level. Confirm the
boom is at 0.0° with a digital spirit level.
2. Switch the power to the machine off at the ignition and wait
until the LMS display switches off.
3. Using a small Phillips Head Screwdriver, remove the memory
card cover from the LMS display.
4. Remove the SD memory card from the display by first pushing
the memory card in and then removing it once it is partially
ejected. The memory card is a push-to-eject type. Please note
that units prior to 1/6/2012 will have single SD memory cards,
units after 1/6/2012 have dual Micro SD cards.
5. Locate the files provided for your machine by opening the .zip
file provided.
a. Delete the contents of the memory card(s).
b. Copy the files from the .zip file to the root directory of
your memory card.

c. The file layout should look similar to the layout below:
6. Re-install the memory card cover and the screw from the
display.
7. Switch on the power to the Machine by turning the key to ACC.
8. When ready the LMS display will prompt the operator to press
the LMS button to start the firmware update. Press the LMS
button once. The firmware update procedure will take about 2
minutes.
9. Once complete, switch off the display and switch it back on again
whilst holding down the LMS button.
10. A red icon will appear in the lower left corner of the LMS display.
Continue holding the button down until the number next to the
icon shows a number which represents the lifting height of the
machine, and release the button. (NOTE: Do not disclose this
procedure to any third party, for a P25.6 the number is 6, for a
P38.13 the number is 13.)
11. The LMS display will enter factory setup mode.
12. Push the LMS button once to select “calibration” and hold the
LMS button down until the arrow turns red, release the button.

13. Press the LMS button once to select Chassis Zero and hold the
LMS button down until the arrow turns red. You will notice a
check mark appears, indicating that the procedure is complete.
Note: ensure the chassis is on level ground prior to completing
this procedure.
14. Ensure the Boom Zero is selected, and hold the LMS button
down until the arrow turns red. You will notice a check mark
appears, indicating that the procedure is complete. Note:
Ensure the boom angle is set to 0 degrees using a magnetic spirit
level before completing this procedure.
15. Ensure that “Back” is selected and hold the LMS button down
until the arrow turns red to return to the previous menu.
16. Select the Radio Network menu.
17. Select “Link Boom Router” and hold the LMS button down until
the arrow turns red. Note: It is important that only one LMS2
equipped machine is in the vicinity for this procedure to execute
correctly.
18. Once completed, restart the LMS display by switching the
machine off and then on again.
Standard Fork Attachments – Zero
Due to tolerances in the machines, it is sometimes desirable to set the
zero weight of the forks.
The following procedure can be completed to determine if the fork zero
needs to be set:
1. Ensure the standard forks (i.e. A0300, A0301, A0304, etc. are
fitted and that the forks are kept horizontally level.
2. Fully retract the boom.

3. Raise the boom angle to 20° and then lower it back to 10°. If you
exceed 10° do not lift the boom up again as this will interfere
with the calibration.
4. If the load displayed is less than 0kg then complete the standard
fork calibration procedure below.
Procedure
1. Start the machine and hold the LMS button down as in previous
steps to enter the factory menu.
2. Enter the Attachment Settings Menu.
3. Select the “Zero Fork Weight” menu item.
4. The weight is now set and the LMS can be restarted.
