1.2.5 Monitors & Headp ones outputs
CONTROL
outputs are use to connect the monitor lou speakers (MON) an the operator’s hea phones
(PHONE).
STUDIO
manages the monitors an hea phones for the stu y cabinet. In both cases the outputs presents
stereo minijack connectors (you can connect “multime ia PC speakers” irectly to this outputs).
To the monitor lou speakers outputs (MON) is convenient to use powere lou speakers, avoi ing the use of
a itional amplifiers. A PC powere lou speakers of goo quality will be sufficient for most of ra io stu ios,
being an low cost solution.
All outputs are protecte against acci ental short-circuits. Each hea phone output can manage up to 3
hea phones (in parallel).
Muting system
The output of the stu io’s lou speakers is muted when you open a mike fa er, to avoi signal loops. The
program signal an the talk-back or ers will be listene in one channel of the hea phone. As well, when
you pulse the talk-back button, the CONTROL lou speakers are mute to not interfere with the
microphone of or ers.
1.2.6 Telep one line connection
The built-in telephone hybri manages one telephone line. On the rear panel there are two connector RJ11
type: one for the telephone line an other for the associate phone. This phone works normally while the line
isn’t taken from the console. The phone line can come irectly from the public central telephone offices or a
ra io’s private central (PBX). The private centrals can eteriorate the hybri ’s reject factor, for what we
recommen you to connect the S-500 irectly to the public telephone central.
Hybri ’s inputs have internal filters to reject RF, for the mi -waves (AM) an for VHF an UHF, not being
necessary, usually, a a itional filters.
The level a justments for sen , return an reject factor are calibrate in factory an generally a itional
a justments aren’t necessaries. Nevertheless, in case that the voice of the local speaker was altere in its
quality when making a telephone conversation, the control of balance of the Hybri will have to be rea juste .
This is ma e uring a telephone conversation, using a very small screw river to a just a preset locate below
the hybri ’s activation button. It will have to be turne in one or another sense until obtaining that the voice of
the speaker of the ra io soun s natural, with the same quality that when the Hybri is isconnecte .
Telephone lines must have protection against overshoots espite to acci ents or electric storms.
1.2.7 Using an external ybrid
The S-500 console is esigne to connect an external telephone hybri , necessary when it’s require to
manage two or more lines. To it, it is arrange in connector AUX-OUT a Program Sen (mono) that will be
connecte to the au io input of the external hybri . The output of the hybri enters through a special input
enominate Hybri Return of the same connector (see Tabla-1). This input is MIX-MINUS respect to PGM
Sen , that is to say, the Hybri ’s Return signal is a e irectly to the program out but he is not present in
PGM Sen , not to pro uce a fee back loop. The Hybri ’s Return input is eactivate if the line is taken from
the S-500 built-in hybri . The fa er SEND only works with the internal hybri . There isn’t level control for the
signal that enters by Hybri ’s Return. You will have to use the output level control of the external hybri .
