Instructions

Read these instructions carefully and

retain them for future use. If this

appliance is passed to a third party, then

these instructions must be included.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety

precautions should always be followed to reduce

the risk of re, electric shock, and/or injury to

»To reduce the risk of re, keep textiles,

curtains, or any other ammable material

a minimum distance of 1 m from the air

outlet.

»Do not operate the appliance without the

castor bases attached. Operate the appliance

in upright position only (castors on bottom,

controls on top). Any other position could

create a hazardous situation.

»Ensure that the surface beneath the

appliance is clean and free of any

obstructions. Avoid placing this appliance

on high-pile carpeting or any other surface

that impedes the ow of air underneath the

appliance.

Some parts of this appliance can become very

hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to

be given where children and vulnerable persons

are present.

»This appliance is not intended for use by

persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or

lack of experience and knowledge, unless they

concerning use of the appliance by a person

responsible for their safety.

»Children should be supervised to ensure that

they do not play with the appliance.

»Children of less than 3 years should be kept

away unless continuously supervised.

»The appliance must not be located immediately

below a socket outlet.

»Do not use the appliance in the immediate

surroundings of a bath, a shower or a

swimming pool.

»If the supply cord is damaged, it must be

replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent

or similarly qualied persons in order to avoid

a hazard.

»This appliance is lled with a precise quantity

of special oil. Repairs requiring opening of

the oil container are only to be made by the

manufacturer or his service agent who should

be contacted if there is an oil leak.

»When scrapping the heater, follow the

regulations concerning the disposal of oil.

»Always disconnect the appliance from the

socket outlet when not in use, in the event of

malfunctions or before cleaning.

»Do not leave the appliance unattended when

in use.

bottom of the heater properly.

4. Before First Use

DANGER Risk of suocation!

Keep any packaging materials away

from children and pets – these materials

are a potential source of danger, e.g.

suocation.

»Remove all the packing materials.

»Remove and review all components

before use.

»Check the appliance for transport

damages.

»Before connecting the appliance to the

power supply, check that the power

supply voltage and current rating

corresponds with the power supply

details shown on the appliance rating

label.

5. Assembly

NOTICE The appliance can be operated only with the castor plates (C) and

castors (D) securely assembled in place.

1. Turn the appliance upside down.

2. Loosen the wing nuts (E) from the U-bolts (F) (Fig. 1).

3. Fit the U-bolts (F) in between the end ns on both sides (Fig. 2).

4. Pass the castor plates (C) into the ends of the U-bolts (F). Fasten the wing nut (E)

onto the threaded end of each U-bolt (F) (Fig. 3).

5. Detach the nut from the castors (D). Assemble the castors (D) to the castor plates (C)

and secure them using the nuts (Fig. 4).

6. Turn the appliance over and place it on the castors.

»Before connecting the power plug

to the socket outlet, make sure the

power switches (J) are set to o.

»Place the appliance on a stable, at

and heat-resistant surface.

»Keep textiles, curtains, or any other

ammable material a minimum

distance of 1 m from the air

outlets (K).

1. Unwind the power cord (G) from the

cord retainer (H).

2. Connect the power plug (G) to a

suitable socket outlet.

3. Turn the thermostat knob (A) clockwise

to the maximum setting.

4. Set the power switches (J) to on

to regulate the heating speed. The

corresponding indicator lights up.

5. When the desired room temperature

has been reached, slowly turn the

thermostat knob (A) anticlockwise until

there is a click sound and the indicators

go o.

NOTICE The indicator on the power

switches (J) lights up and then goes

o periodically while maintaining the

desired room temperature.

6. After use, set the power switches (J) to

o. Both indicators go o.

7. Disconnect the power plug (G) from the

socket outlet.

6.2 Fan heater

The appliance can be used as a heating

fan for low power background heating for

small rooms.

1. Press the fan heater button (I) to switch

the heating fan on.

2. To switch o, press again the fan

heater button (I).

NOTICE The appliance switches o

automatically if it overheats due to an

accumulation of dust on the air vents

and air outlets (K).

6.3 Tip-over protection

When the appliance tips over or is lying

sideways, it switches o automatically. To

restart, place the appliance upright again.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING Risk of electric shock!

»To prevent electric shock, unplug the

appliance before cleaning.

»During cleaning do not immerse the appliance

in water or other liquids. Never hold the

appliance under running water.

NOTICE

»Allow the appliance to cool down before

cleaning.

»Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes,

abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to

clean the appliance.

7.1 Cleaning

»To clean the appliance, wipe with a soft,

slightly damp cloth. Use mild detergent For

stubborn dirt.

»Clear the air vents and air outlets (K) of dust

using a narrow soft brush or cotton swab.

»Wipe the appliance dry after cleaning.

7.2 Storage

»Wrap the power cord (G) around the cord

retainer (H).

»Store the appliance in its original packaging in

a dry area. Keep away from children and pets.

7.3 Maintenance

Any other servicing than mentioned in this manual

should be performed by a professional repair

centre.

Consequences of Improper E-Waste Handling & Recycling

E-waste when disposed or recycled improperly, can cause severe environmental pollution and adversely

aect the human body as they contain excess of toxic chemicals like mercury, polybrominated ame

retardants, barium, lithium and PVC. The common process of burning of e-waste in informal e-waste

recycling and disposal facilities releases toxic gases into the atmosphere, causing severe air pollution.

Besides that, poor recycling and improper disposal of e-waste leads to a lot of pollutants such as heavy

metals like cadmium, lead and persistent organic pollutants to be released into the atmosphere, which

further pollutes the eco-system and causes health hazards.

Alternately the practice of dumping of e-waste into landlls as followed by the informal e-waste recycling

and disposal facilities eventually makes the hazardous and toxic components of e-waste seep into the eco-

system including the regional water tables, causing soil pollution and contaminating the water table. Such

contamination will aect nearby communities in an adverse manner for much longer time.

Accidental breakage and damage of electronics and e-waste can pose a threat to the environment. As long

as the toxic components in electronics are enclosed within the original manufacturer’s designed outer-

shell of the gadget, they don’t pose much of a danger as they have been engineered to contain any such

eects. However, accidental breakage or damage of such electronics or e-waste can lead to toxic elements

leaking and contaminating their immediate environment. Damage to the environment due to accidental

breakage of e-waste is a major concern in informal e-waste disposal and recycling facilities, so consumers

need to ensure that their e-waste is being disposed only through authorized recycling points.

Amazon Basics Recycling Program

Reteck Envirotech Private Limited (“Reteck”), a recycling company, has been authorized to provide e-waste

disposal service to all customers of Cloudtail India Private Limited (“Cloudtail”) who have purchased

AmazonBasics products. Reteck has a PAN-India collection mechanism for collecting e-waste from

customers and for further disposal of such e-waste as per the E-Waste (Management & Handling) Rules,

2016 eective October 1, 2016 and amendments therein.

Cloudtail through Reteck will provide e-waste drop o points and ensure environmentally sound

management of electronics that have reached their end-of-life phase. Reteck has all the necessary

authorizations from the appropriate governmental agencies for their processing facilities. Reteck

ensures proper recycling and disposal of e-waste, and does not incinerate, send e-waste to landll or

export hazardous e-waste to other countries. This helps us protect the environment from any hazardous

consequences, which would be otherwise caused by the inappropriate waste management of e-waste.
