Quick Start Guide for SOLON SOLraise
N o t e
Please consult the SOLON SOLraise installation manual for complete installation and safety instruc-
tions. Make sure that you have correctly understood all instructions in the SOLON SOLraise installa-
tion manual and be sure to follow these for all installation work. Failure to do this presents a danger
of personal injury or death and the risk of material damage to the devices. Only use this abbreviated
version of the installation manual aer you have fully read and understood the full version of the
SOLON SOLraise installation manual.
Connecting the SOLON SOLraise modules to a module string
Caution!
Make sure that the inverter ON/OFF switch and the AC circuit breaker are both set to OFF while
installing the inverter.
Connect the DC outputs of the SOLON SOLraise modules in series:
a. The minimum string length is 8 SOLON SOLraise modules
b. Do not connect more than 5.2 kW in a single string to a single phase inverter
c. Parallel strings do not need to be the same length
Check the connections. Before the inverter is switched on, the SOLON SOLraise modules each
supply a safety voltage of 1 V that you should check with a voltmeter. The total measured volt-
age of the string should
be the number of modules multiplied by 1 V, with a permissible deviation of 0.1 V per module
(e.g. 20 modules * 1 V= approx. 20 V).
To make full use of the SOLON SOLraise Monitoring Portal, you must record the mounting loca-
tion and serial number of every SOLON SOLraise module in the string plan. To do this, remove
the rectangular barcode sticker, apply it to the physical layout template or a sketch of the string

Installing the inverters and connecting the
module strings to the inverters
Caution!
Make sure that the inverter ON/OFF switch and the AC circuit breaker are both set to OFF
while installing the inverter.
Mount the installation bracket on the wall with the U-shaped notches facing upwards.
Make sure that there is sucient free cooling space around the inverter: 20 cm above and
below, 10 cm at both sides.
Connect the DC output cables from the SOLON SOLraise module strings to the DC inputs on
the underside of the inverter.
Check for correct polarity before connecting!
Unscrew the six retaining screws from the cover and open the inverter.
Connect the AC cable. Make sure that the inverter is correctly grounded.
Connect the Ethernet cable (internet connection) or RS485 cable (inverter coupling) if required.
Caution!
When the PV system is connected to the Internet, the IP address and the serial numbers of the
modules, power optimizers and inverters are transferred to the monitoring server. If this is not
desired, do not connect the PV system to the Internet.
The "mySOLON Monitoring Portal Terms and Conditions" are available at
www.solon.com/global/solraise.
Details for the setup of the communication between the inverter and the SolarEdge Monitoring
Server are available in the "Communication Setup Application Note" on the SolarEdge homepage:

Commissioning and activating the system
1. Switch the AC circuit breaker ON.
Safety information
High voltage, handle with care.
2. Use the operating buttons and the LC-display of the inverter to check the correctness of the
country code, display language and configuration of the communication options (and adapt
these as necessary). You access the menu via the ENTER button (press and hold ENTER for 5
seconds and then enter the password 12312312).
3. Check the following information on the LC-display:
Vac: Mains voltage (V).
Vdc: Total string voltage (V) (approx. 1 V for each PowerBox connected in series).
Pac: Power fed into the mains grid (W).
P-OK: Shows the number of connected PowerOptimizers.
S-OK:
Shows the status of the connection to the internet and to the SolarEdge
Monitoring Server.

4. Close the inverter cover.
Safety information
Make absolutely sure that the cover is properly closed before proceeding with the next step!
A high DC voltage is present in the inverter in the next step!
5. Pair the PowerOptimizers to the inverter by pressing and holding the LCD button for about
15 seconds while the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position. The following message is shown
on the LC-display:
6. Now switch on the inverter using the ON/OFF switch. If more than 5 seconds have passed
between pairing the PowerOptimizers and switching on then you must repeat the pairing step
described above.
7. The system starts feeding power a short time aer the pairing process has completed. Check
that the number shown next to P_OK on the LC-display corresponds to the number of installed
PowerOptimizers. It can take up to 15 minutes for all PowerOptimizers to signal their readiness
for operation.
SolarEdge inverters are designed for global use and must be configured for use in each Country.
If the inverter has not been configured it may display a voltage or frequency error at first startup.
Incorrect configuration will not damage the inverter but it will not operate normally unless properly
configured. Inverter configuration should be verified for all installations at time of installation.
Please consult the SOLON SOLraise installation manual for complete
installation and safety instructions.
