FIRE FEATURE INSTALLATION & ASSEMBLY
Spend a bit of time thinking about where to locate your fire feature. CONCRETE IS HEAVY, so moving it once is the best plan.
Here are some guidelines.
+ The area should be level and have good drainage.
+ Make sure your wood deck is structurally sound and can support the weight of the fire feature.
+ Keep in mind any adjacent flammable materials and be cognisant of tripping hazards.
+ CONFIRM MINIMUM DISTANCE TO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS. Refer to page 9.
+ Always have at least 3 people (or more depending on the model) to help move the concrete vessel.
+ Once positioned, use plastic shims to level and stabilize the vessel. Ensure that the vessel is stable and not "rocking".
+ Make sure drainage holes are not obstructed.
ASSEMBLY OF CONCRETE VESSEL.
WARNING: CRUSHED FINGER & TOE DANGER!
WARNING: SEVERE MUSCLE AND BACK INJURY POSSIBLE!
DO NOT EXERT YOURSELF IF ADVISED NOT TO BY YOUR DOCTOR.
1. When unpacking and positioning the concrete it's a good idea to have a few short lengths of 2x4 'sleepers' to place
the concrete onto. This will protect your fingers from being crushed under the weight of the pieces.
Have a clear moving and placing plan before moving anything and use EXTREME CAUTION when moving.
2. Position and level the cruciform Base in the desired location with the smooth concrete side facing up.
3. Carefully, place the concrete Box on top of the base. It should fit snuggly in the grooves around the outer edges of
the base.
4. Have 4 people lift the Halo Top up onto the concrete Box and center it. The top should be flat and level.
5. Check to make sure the assembled unit is stable and not rocking. Adjust pieces and add extra shims if required to
stabilize the fire feature.
6. Now that the heavy work is done, you can install the Burner Assembly.
