If the appliance again switches off due to the intervention of the outlet safety, you should have the outlet sys-
tem (chimney) inspected by a registered installer. This safety device must not be rendered inoperative or al-
tered, because the system will not function properly otherwise. Only original ThermoCet components must
be used for replacement. This also applies to the fastening materials and wiring.
Possible causes of the intervention of the outlet safety are:
* A poor connection between the fire and the chimney.
* The chimney is completely or partially blocked by fallen debris etc.
* The draught is inadequate.
* Negative pressure in the room as a result of an extractor hood or central extraction system which is too
strong.
Consult your installer if this situation arises!
4. ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ( only for Versa HV )
The appliance is fitted with a fan and must be connected to an earthed 230VAC/50Hz wall socket. Installa-
tion must be in accordance with NEN 1010 and local regulations. Always ensure that the wall socket is still
easily accessible after the appliance has been installed.
Technical specifications fan: 230V, 50Hz Power 25 w
Only original ThermoCet components must be used for replacement.
5. GAS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 General instructions
* The appliance should only be installed and connected by a registered installer in accordance with the
local Gas Appliance Regulations.
* The Versa HV is fitted with a fan and must be connected to a 230VAC/50 Hz alternating current
earthed wall socket, in compliance with NEN 1010 and local regulations. If necessary, place the wall
socket on the right-hand side of the fire, where a special opening has been made for a gas pipe and a
connecting lead and plug. Never shorten the connection lead, since this would complicate the removal
of the burner unit. Never position the fireplace against or in a combustible wall.
* If the fireplace is being connected to a chimney which has previously been fired with wood, coal or
oil, the chimney must be thoroughly inspected and cleaned. A draught of approximately 0.5 mm water
column is sufficient, measured when the fire is at full power.
If the draught is in excess of 2 mm water column, it is advisable to reduce the draught. If the room is fitted
with a window fan, or if the fireplace is being installed in a chink-free dwelling, pressure equalization open-
ings must be made into the outside air. This must be done to prevent the chimney from not working as a re-
sult of any negative pressure.
When gas fires are being installed, we recommend that these are connected to a fully aluminium or stainless
steel outlet duct measuring 100 mm, in order to avoid problems with the thermal outlet safety and other fea-
tures. If the appliance is being connected to an existing duct which had previously been fired with wood, coal
or oil, we also recommend that the above-mentioned aluminium or stainless steel flue be fitted.
5.2 Preparations for installing the fireplace
In order to build-in the fireplace, it must first be dismantled as described below.
1. Remove the front from the fireplace once it has been taken out of the box. To do this, loosen the
fastening screws: 2 inside the front at the top and 2 inside the front at the bottom, behind the service
door.
