VG-6132 Gas Extinguishing Panel

Chapter 1 Overview

VG-6132 Gas Extinguishing Panel（called the panel or control panel for short）is a kind of extinguishant gas

releasing equipment of low cost and high efficiency Use the graphic dot matrix as liquid crystal display (LCD).

The panel is able to monitor two protection zones against emergency fire. It is mainly designed for small and

medium fire protection projects, widely applicable for banks, data room, telecom station and manufacturing

plants. The panel has a reliable performance and complies with international standards for safety and

environment concern.

Chapter 2 Technical Specifications

2.1 Functions

2.1.1 Liquid Cristal Display (LCD)

The panel uses the graphic dot matrix as its LCD and adopts LEDs to indicate critical status of the system.. It is

easy and convenient to view the fire messages and status of the system from the LCD.

2.1.2 Wiring

The panel connects with external devices controlled through multi-wire.

2.2 Technical Specifications

2.2.1 Power：Switch between the main power and the battery power automatically.

Main power：AC 220V(187V~242V)/0.5A，50Hz

Standby power：DC 12V/4AH(12V/2.7AH, two units)

Battery protection voltage：11V-10.6V

Battery recharging voltage：11.5V-12.3V

Maximum protection zones： Two zones（loads types：smoke detector, heat detector, emergency start/abort button,

sounder strobe, gas releasing sign and solenoid valve）

Chapter 3 Structure

3.1 Appearance and structure dimension

Dimension of the control panel is shown in Fig. 3-1: 430mm* 330mm* 24mm (L*W*D).

Critical status of VG-6132 Gas Extinguishing Panel are indicated by LEDs, description is shown as below.

Main control section

◇ Power（Green）：It turns on when the main power is supplied and turns off when the power is low

voltage or the power cable is broken.

◇ Battery（Green）：It turns on when the battery power is working normally, and turns off when the

battery power is low voltage or the power cable is broken.

◇ Silence（Green）： The LED turns on when the Silence key is pressed.Reserve（Amber）：LED Reserve

for other usage.

◇ Power Fault（Amber）：It turns on when the main power is low voltage or the cable is broken, and turns

off when the main power is working normally.

◇ Batt Fault（Amber）：It turns on when the standby power is low voltage or the cable is broken and turns

off when the standby power is working normally.

◇ COM Fault（Amber）：It runs on when there is any fault occurred on the control panel and turns off when

all faults are removed.

◇ SYS Inspect（Amber）：It turns on when the panel is under self-testing.

◇ Manual（Red）：It turns on when Manual/Auto lock is set to manual.

◇ Auto（Red）：It turns on when Manual/Auto lock is set to auto.

◇ Standby（Red）：It turns on when Override lock is closed.

◇ Override（Red）：It turns on when Override lock is opened.

Fire Protection Zone Section

◇ Pre-alarm（Red）：It turns on when there is fire and turns off automatically if there is no fire alarm within

30 minutes.

◇ Fire （Red）：It turns on when there is fire and turns off automatically if there is no alert signal within 30

minutes.

◇ Activate（Red）：In AUTO mode, LED turns on when the panel activates the action outputs.

◇ Sounder（Red）：It turns on when the sounder strobe is activated and turns off when the sounder strobe is

off.

◇ Delay（Red）：It turns on when the panel is in delay mode.

◇ Discharge（Red）：It turns on when the control panel activates the cylinder valve.

◇ Response（Red）：It turns on when the panel receiving feedback from solenoid valve, and LED

illuminates until reset.

◇ Start（Red）：It turns on when the Start button is pressed and turns off whenthe Abort button is pressed.

◇ Abort（Red）：It turns on when the Abort button is pressed and turns off after reset.

◇ Fault（Amber）：It turns on whenthere is open or short occurred in the output circuits, and turns off when

the circuit is back to normal.

Notes：

1. COM Fire, COM Start and COM Response are normally closed, and open when activated.

2. COM Fault is normally open and closed when activated.

Chapter 4 Installation and Commissioning

4.1 Unpacking and Inspecting

Open the package carefully not to damage the control panel. Check the items against the packing list. Check

internal configuration and connection of different parts. Then inspect the appearance of the control panel. If a

problem is found, solve it as soon as possible and then install the control panel.

4.2 Installation

Mounting dimension is shown as Fig. 3-2.

4.3 Wiring Requirements

◇ Wiring for terminals inside the cabinet: all wires should be peeled 0.5cm and tinned or clipped before

connecting into the cabinet.

◇ Control Output Cable:

Conductor：1.0 mm2 or above copper conductor, withstand voltage≥ 250V，twisted pair.

Cable：0.75 mm2 or above copper cable，withstand voltage≥ 250V.

Total resistance of cable＜50Ω，otherwise increase the cross section of the cable.

◇ Conduit Pipe: The cable should be installed in a individual conduit pipe, and be away from others cables such

as power line, lighting cable, AC cable, CCTV cable, VA cable etc.

◇ Wiring in cable shaft: The loop wires should be installed in a respective metal sink, away from those wires

such as power line, lighting cable, CCTV cable etc, the parallel distance between the loop wite and other power

supply lines should be further than 500mm.

◇ Connectors: all connectors for wiring should be welded or crimped and sealed by isolated sleeves to avoid

short circuit and current leaking.

4.4 Check of Control Panel

When the control panel is installed in the field, turns on the power and do the functional checks at first, including：

(1) Observe if the LEDs and sections of LCDs are lit and the loudspeaker gives a resonant sound.

(2) Enter into the standby state, check the power fault and operating keys, as well as field devices are in

good condition.

4.5 Wiring

After checking the control panel, if the results of all the tests meet the requirements, please refer to Chapter 3

Structure in this manual for connecting terminals with field devices. All cables should comply with 4.3 Wiring

Requirement in this manual.

4.6 Start

Check AC input cable and make sure it is connected firmly. Then apply AC power, test the voltage. Switch on the

power after the voltage is correct, observe LCD and all LEDs and ensure they are working well. Switch off AC

power immediately if there is any fault occurred and find out the reason. The panel can be restarted only after the

fault is removed.

If there isn’t AC power, the standby power is only used, in this case, press the Start button of the battery after

connection.

4.7 Configure

After check with the wiring and connection carefully, configure can be started according to the following steps.

(1) Switching on the power, the control panel tests LEDs, LCD and sounds automatically. After self-test, the

control panel enters the standby mode.

(2) Ensure the panel is placed in the clean air and then make commissioning. Refer to “Chapter 5 System Setting

and Operation

”

and “Chapter 6 Commissioning

”

for details.

Chapter 5 System Setting and Operation

5.1 System Setup

System setup mainly include system time set, delay set, loop check, printer set and so on.

How to enter system setup: Switch on the power, press Menu to input “▲▼▲▼” password under system running

screen, and then press “▼” to enter system setup screen.

5.1.1 Time Set

Go to 3 time set. Press “Enter” key to go to system time set screen, shown as Fig. 5-1.

Pressing “Enter” key, the cursor ＿ will be switched. Pressing “▼” key, the number positioned at cursor, is

added up 1 p.

Pressing “Enter” saves the time after complete setting. Press Menu or Cancel to return.

5.1.2 Delay Set

Press “Menu” and type-in passwords. Then press “▼” key down to choose “4 Delay Set” and press “Enter” key to

set delay time.

Pressing “Enter ” key, the cursor can move up and down to set delay time. Pressing “▼” key, delay time will be

added 1.

Pressing “Enter” key saves the delay time.

Then pressing “Cancel” key returns to the loop check.

5.1.3 Loop-checking Set

Pressing “Menu” key and “▼” key, choose “7 Loop check”. Press “Enter” key to go to the screen for setting

number of loop-check, as shown in Fig. 5-2.

Pressing “▼” key, the number of Loop-check will be added 1.

Pressing “Enter” key saves the set.

Pressing “Cancel” returns to system operation page.

5.1.4 Printer Set

Press “Menu” key, enter the password and then press “▼” key, choose “8 Printer Set”. Press “Enter” key to go to

the screen for setting printer, as shown in Fig. 5-2.

Press “▼” key, the printer can be set to ON or OFF states.

Press “Enter” key to save the set.

Press “Cancel” to return to system operation page.

5.2 System Operation

LCD of the system displays time as shown in Fig. 6-1 after power on.

The First Lineindicates the system time.

The Second Lineindicates that there is no fire and fault message.

The First line indicates the system time.

The Second LinThat there is short or open circuit in Zone 2. Please view details by entering Fault Query menu.

The First Line indicates the system time.

The Second Linethat there is fire alarm message in Zone 2.

5.3 Self-test

Pressing “Self-test” key，and then “Enter” key four times, the system begins self-testing. All LEDs of the system

are lit, the buzzer gives continuous alarm sound and LCD display “self-testing…”.

5.4 Reset

Pressing “Reset ” key, and then “▲” key four times, the system is reset.

5.5 Silence

Pressing Silence key when there is fire or fault, sound of the control panel can be silenced.

5.6 Records

5.6.1 Fault records

In system operation page, press Menu, and input “▲▼▲▼” password. Pressing “▼” can enter the screen

shown in Fig. 6-2. Then press “Enter” to go to “Fault query”. Press “▼” to display fault messages. It returns to

fire condition if there is a fire.

5.6.2 History Record

In system operation page, press “Menu” and press “▼” to enter the screen shown as Fig. 6-3. Then pressing

“Enter” goes to “History Record Query”. Press “▼” to display history records. This panel can record 999

messages.

5.7 Start and stop sounder strobe

When there is fire, the souder strobe is activated automatically. When there is not fire, press Menu to enter the

password, and then press “▼” and “Enter” to start the sounder strobe. If the sounder strobe should be stopped,

repeate the previous steps and then press Enter to stop.

5.8 Switch between manual and auto

Warning：The right side of the display is auto-switching and special function area. Please don’t operate it

unless you are special trained person, in order to avoid property loss and personal injuries.
