The present user’s operation manual contains technical description, data sheet, installation

and mounting guidelines for the air handling unit with heat (energy, heat and energy) recovery

VU_ 2 250 P EC (hereinafter referred as the unit).

The unit with sensible and latent heat recovery is designed to save heating and cooling costs by

means of thermal energy utilization and is one of the energy saving components used in buildings

and premises. The HRV unit is a component unit and is not designed for independent operation.

The unit is designed for creating continuous air exchange by means of mechanical ventilation in

private residences, oces, hotels, cafes, conference rooms. In addition the unit enables recovery of

the waste heat energy contained in the extract air to warm up the clean supply air.

The transported medium must not contain any combustible or explosive mixtures, chemical

fumes, coarse dust, soot, fat or any environment prolic for the formation of harmful substances (toxic

substances, dust and pathogens) as well as sticky substances and brous materials.

The unit is not intended for operation by children or any persons with reduced

physical, mental or sensory capacities as well persons lacking the required training.

The unit must be handled only by properly qualied personnel after the

appropriate safety brieng.

The installation are of the unit must be chosen to prevent access by unattended

children.

TECHNICAL DATA

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

While operating and mounting the unit consider the requirements of the present operation manual

as well as general requirements of all applicable local and national building and electrical codes and

standards.

The unit must be grounded!

Before connecting the unit to power mains make sure that the unit is free of any visible damages

or any other foreign objects inside the casing that can damage the impeller blades. Otherwise contact

the service center.

Warning!

Disconnect the unit from power supply prior to any mounting, servicing, connection

or repair operations with the unit.

The unit is designed for operation in an enclosed area at ambient temperatures from +1ºC

to + 60 ºC at relative humidity of up to 80%.

Hazardous parts access and water ingress protection standard:

Unit motors - IP 44;

Unit assembly connected to air ducts - IP 22.

The unit series designations, their main outside and connecting dimensions, appearance and

technical parameters are given on Figure 1 and in Table 1.

The unit design is regularly being improved, so some models can slightly dier from those ones

described in this manual.

RESTRICTIONS

• Do not operate the unit beyond the specied temperature range or in an aggressive

and explosive medium!

• Do not connect clothes dryers or similar equipment to the ventilation system!

• Do not operate the unit in the air and dust mixture medium!

DESIGN AND OPERATING LOGIC

The unit design and operating principle are shown on Fig. 2. The warm stale air from the premises

enters the unit where it is stripped of impurities in the lter. The air is then extracted through the heat

exchangers and further outside by means of the exhaust fan via the air ducts. The fresh cool outdoor

air is supplied into the unit via the air ducts and undergoes ltration. The air then passes through the

heat exchanger and is delivered into the premises by the supply fan. The exchangers ensure energy

exchange between the warm stale air from indoors with the cool fresh air from outdoors without

mixing both air ows.This technology reduces heating costs in cold season, and cooling costs in warm

season.

The unit design and operating principle are given on Fig. 2. The basic conguration

includes:

1. Exhaust turbine.

2. Supply turbine.

MOUNTING AND SETUP

While installing the unit ensure convenient access for subsequent maintenance or repair.

The units are mounted to the ceiling using belts rigidly attached to a horizontal surface (Fig. 3)

or threaded rods which are securely installed in threaded expansion bolts driven into the ceiling.

Prior to installation make sure that the casing is free from any foreign objects such as wrapping lm

or paper.

For best results position the unit so as to allow a direct air duct section at least 1 m long in front

and behind.

CONDENSATE DRAINAGE

The condensate drain pan installed in the heat recovery section has pipes for extracting the

condensed uid outside the unit.

Connect pipe 1, U-trap 3 (not included in delivery package) and sewage collection system 5

with metal, plastic or rubber pipes 2 and 4. The pipe pitch must be at least 3°. Fill up the system with

water before connecting the unit to the power mains! During the operation the U-trap must be lled

with water at all times. Make sure that the water ows freely into the sewage collection system or

otherwise condensed water may build up in the unit during the heat exchanger operation which, in

turn, may cause equipment failure and water ingress into the premises.

The condensate drainage system is designed for normal operation in premises with air

temperatures above 0 °C. If the expected air temperatures are below 0 °C the condensate drainage

system must be equipped with heat insulation and pre-heating facilities.

The unit connects to 230 V / 50 Hz single-phase AC mains. Proper connection is ensured by the

power cable with a Euro plug supplied by the manufacturer.

The unit must be connected to the power mains via an automatic cut-out switch built into the

stationary wiring with a magnetic breaker with the nominal trip current at least equal to the unit

consumption current (see Table. 1).

Disconnect the unit from the power supply prior to any work.The unit must be

plugged into a properly installed power socket with an earthed terminal. The nominal

electrical parameters of the unit are given on the manufacturer’s label. Any tampering

with the internal connections is prohibited and will void the warranty.

The unit is controlled from the control panel (Fig. 5).

1. Ventilation Mode Selection.

The unit oers three ventilation modes:

MIN - basic ventilation mode. The air ow rate for this mode is set in the Setup mode from

according to Table 3 (see p.2 «Setup Mode»). ;

NORMAL - the air ow rate in this mode is 80 m³/h higher than in the MIN mode. After 30

minutes the unit automatically reverts to the MIN mode;

MAX - the unit will run at its maximum air ow capacity. The ventilation modes are

indicated according to Table. 2.

Use button to cycle between the ventilation modes. The modes are engaged cyclically.

2. Setup Mode.

To enter the Setup Mode press and hold the button (Fig. 5) for at least 10 seconds until the

Operation/Setup indicator changes from green to red.

The main ventilation mode indicators will then display the minimum air ow rate corresponding to

speed one according to Table 3.

To change the air ow rate use button. Press button to increase the parameter value or press

button to decrease it. The air ow rate being set can be controlled by means of six main ventilation

mode indicators provided that the Operation/Setup indicator glows red.

You can leave the Settings mode in two ways. Either press button or button once again

or this will happen automatically 60 seconds after the last pressing of button or button .

The Operation/Setup indicator will then change colour from red to green.

After leaving the Setup mode the minimum ow rate value setting remains in the memory even

after power-o.
