(1). Product should be installed by qualified electrician.
(2). Switch off the power supply before commencing work, make sure all wiring connections
are correct before powering on.

Double ended wiring installation
Retrofit luminaire with 1 lamp
The actual ballast wiring varies according to ballast model. You do not need to change the
socket (if in good condition) to operate double ended lamps, regardless the type of sockets.
Please make sure one side of fixture is connected to Live (L) and the other side to Neutral (N).
Westinghouse T8 Universal Ballast Bypass LED lamps are
designed to be installed in two types of wiring configurations.
For Double Ended Wiring installations see instructions starting
on page 2, and for Single-ended Wiring installations see
instructions starting on page 4.

Retrofit luminaire with 2 lamps
Single ended wiring installation
STOP!
DO NOT install this product in a luminaire that uses shunted lamp holders (found
in all xtures with instant start ballasts). Installing this product with shunted lamp
holders will cause a short circuit condition in the lamp holder and create a re or
shock hazard. Before continuing, determine if the lamp holders currently installed
in the luminaire are shunted or non-shunted. If the current lamp holders are
shunted, cut the wires away from the lamp holders and install non-shunted lamp
holders, making new connections with the lead wires at terminals indicated here:
NOTE: If using existing non-shunted lamp holders, installer should not disconnect
lead wires from lamp holders and make new connections at terminals. Instead,
cut lead wires near ballast and make new connections to lead wires using
approved connectors.

Removing uorescent lamp system
NOTE: Westinghouse T8 LED tube is suitable to be installed in T8 standard luminaries.
1. Disconnect power from luminaire.
2. Remove uorescent bulb.
3. Remove wiring compartment cover.
4. Cut all wires which are connected to the ballast and remove it.
Retrotting xtures with ONE LAMP
NOTE:
Only one end of this LED tube receives power. The “powered” end is indicated by mark with “L” & “N” on
the tube itself. Before begining installation, determine which end of the xture will be the “powered” end and
which end will be the “dead” end.
1. Make sure AC power to luminaire is OFF
2. Make sure ground wire from AC supply is securely connected to ground screw inside luminaire.
3. Connect black (live) and white (neutral) lead wires from lamp holders on “powered” end to incoming AC
supply black (LIVE) and white (NEUTRAL) wires with approved wire connectors. If only one lamp is being
installed, proceed to step 4 below. No Live Connection

Retrotting luminaire with MULTIPLE LAMPS
After completing steps 1 - 3 above, connect terminals on the “powered” lamp holder for rst lamp to
matching terminals on “powered” lamp holder for second lamp with black (live) and white (neutral) wires,
being sure to maintain polarity. Repeat this “daisy chain” connection for each additional lamp.

When all connections are complete, place appropriate connectors/wire nuts on the end of any unused wires.
5. Replace wiring compartment cover.
6. Place sticker that is included with this product on wiring compartment cover or other conspicuous place on or
inside of xture. Sticker reads: “This xture has been modied. The ballast has been removed. DO NOT install
uorescent lamps in this xture”.
7. Install LED tube(s), matching the end of the lamp that has the “L/N” sticker to the lamp holder that is connected to
the Live and Neutral wires.
8. Re-connect power to luminaire.
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject
to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful
interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Risk of fire or electric shock. Installation of this Retrofit Kit requires knowledge of electrical systems. If
you are not qualified, do not attempt installation and contact a qualified electrician.
Install this kit only in the luminaires that have the construction features and dimensions shown in the
photographs and drawings.
Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit
installation.
To prevent damage to wiring, do not expose wires to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
Installers should not disconnect existing wires from lamp holder terminals to make new connections at
lamp holder terminals. Instead installers should cut existing lamp holder leads away from the ballast
and make new electrical connections to lamp holder lead wires by employing applicable connectors.
THE RETROFIT ASSEMBLY IS ACCEPTED AS A COMPONENT OF A LUMINAIRE WHERE THE
SUITABILITY OF THE COMBINATION SHALL BE DETERMINED BY UL OR AUTHORITIES
HAVING JURISDICTION.

El cableado de la reactancia variará dependiendo del modelo de la misma. No es necesario que cambie la
toma (si está en buen estado) para utilizar lámparas de doble terminación, independientemente del tipo de
tomas. Asegúrese de que un lado de la instalación esté conectado a "bajo tensión" (L) y el otro a "neutro" (N).

DO NOT install NO instale este producto en luminarias que utilicen portalámparas con
resistencias de derivación (se pueden encontrar en todas las instalaciones con
reactancias de encendido instantáneo). Instalar esto producto con portalámparas con
resistencias de derivación podría provocar un cortocircuito en el portalámparas, con el
consiguiente riesgo de incendio o de descarga eléctrica. Antes de continuar, asegúrese
de que los portalámparas instalados en la luminaria no tengan resistencias de
derivación. Si las tienen, corte los cables de los portalámparas e instale portalámparas
sin resistencias de derivación, estableciendo nuevas conexiones con los cables
conductores en los terminales que se indican a continuación:

NOTA: En caso de utilizar los portalámparas sin resistencias de derivación existentes, el
instalador no deberá desconectar los cables conductores de los portalámparas ni
establecer nuevas conexiones en los terminales. En su lugar, deberá cortar los cables
conductores a la altura de la reactancia y establecer nuevas conexiones a los cables
conductores utilizando conectores homologados.

Retirer le système de lampe uorescente
REMARQUE : La LED Westinghouse T8 peut être installée dans les luminaires standard T8.
1. Couper le courant du luminaire.
2. Retirer l'ampoule uorescente.
3. Retirer le cache du compartiment des câbles.
4. Débrancher tous les câbles connectés au ballast et les retirer du luminaire..
Readaptar instalaciones con UNA LÁMPARA
NOTA:
Solo una de las terminaciones del tubo LED recibe energía. La terminación que recibe energía estará
indicada con las marcas «L» y «N» en el propio tubo. Antes de comenzar la instalación, determine qué
terminación de la instalación recibirá energía y cuál no.
1. Ponga a seguro que la corriente alterna de la luminaria esté desconectada
2. Ponga a seguro que el cable de toma a tierra del suministro CA se encuentre conectado con seguridad al
tornillo de toma a tierra de la luminaria
3. Conecte los cables conductores negro (bajo tensión) y blanco (neutro) de los portalámparas en la
terminación que recibe energía a los cables de alimentación CA negro (BAJO TENSIÓN) y blanco
(NEUTRO) utilizando conectores de cable homologados. Si solo se va instalar una lámpara, pase al paso 4.
Readaptar luminarias con MÚLTIPLES LÁMPARAS
Una vez completados los pasos 1 a 3, conecte los terminales del portalámparas que reciben energía de la
primera lámpara para hacer coincidir los terminales en el portalámparas que recibe energía de la segunda
lámpara con los cables negro (bajo tensión) y blanco (neutro), siempre asegurándose de mantener la
polaridad. Repita esta «conexión en cadena» con cada lámpara adicional.
