OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. CHARGING YOUR BATTERY PACK
Warning: The Charger and battery
pack are specifically designed to work
together so do not attempt to use any other
devices. Never insert or allow metallic objects
into your charger or battery pack connections,
because an electrical failure and hazard will
occur.
2. BEFORE USING YOUR LIGHT
Your battery pack is UNCHARGED and you
must charge once before use. Your battery
pack will not be fully charged until you have
performed several charge and discharge
operations by charging & working with
your flashlight. After this your battery pack
performance will improve.
3. HOW TO CHARGE YOUR BATTERY
Charging procedure
1)Plug the charger into an appropriate outlet.
The red light (8) will flash for 1 second and
then go out.
2)Insert the battery pack into the charger ,
the red light (8) will stay on to indicate the
charging process has started.
3)On completion of charge the red light (8) will
change to continuous green. The pack is now
fully charged ,unplug the charger and remove
the battery pack
Charging indicator
This charger is designed to detect some
problems that can arise with battery packs.
Indicator lights indicate problems (see table
below). If this occurs, insert a new battery pack
to determine if the charger is OK. If the new
battery charges correctly, then the original
pack is defective and should be returned to a
service center or recycling service center. If the
new battery pack displays the same problem
as the original Battery Pack, have the charger
tested at an authorized service center.

Hot/cold battery pack delay
This charger has a HOT/COLD battery pack
delay feature. When the charger detects
a battery pack that is too hot or cold (the
green light will flash slowly), it automatically
starts a HOT/COLD Pack Delay, and suspends
charging until the battery pack has reached
the correct temperature. The charging process
will then automatically begin (red light ON
continuously). This feature ensures maximum
battery life.
Leaving the battery pack in the charger
If a fully charged battery pack is left in the
charger, the green light (9) will remain ON.
The battery pack will remain charging with a
current of about 150mA.
Note: A battery pack will slowly lose its
charge when kept out of the charger or left
in an unplugged charger. It may need to be
recharged before use.
Weak battery packs
This charger will detect a weak battery pack.
When a weak battery pack is inserted into the
charger, the charger will try to repair it. This
process will last about 30mins (the green light
will flash slowly). When the repair is finished,
it will automatically begin to charge the battery
pack to the highest capacity possible (the red
light stays ON). If the green light (9) flashes for
more than 30mins, the red light (a) will begin
to flash slowly indicating the battery pack is
dead.
Note: Repaired battery packs are still usable
but should not be expected to perform as

much work as new battery packs.
Important charging notes:
1.For a new battery or a battery that has been
in storage for sometime, please recharge the
battery before use. If you want to store the
battery for a long time, please fully charge the
battery pack to ensure maximum battery life.
2.Longer life and better performance can be
obtained if the battery pack is charged when
the air temperature is between 65o F and 75o
F (18o-24o C). Do not charge the battery pack
in air temperatures below + 40o F (+4.5o C),
or above 105oF (40.5o C). This is important as
it can prevent serious damage to the battery
pack.
3.Never freeze your charger or immerse charger
in water or any other liquid.
4.When the battery pack fails to produce
sufficient power on jobs that were previously
done easily, please recharge you battery, do
not continue to use under this condition. You
may charge a partially used pack whenever you
desire with no adverse affect on the battery
pack.
5.When charging it is normal that the charger
and battery pack may become warm to touch.
6.If the battery pack does not charge properly:
a.Check current at power outlet by plugging in
another appliance.
b.Plug and unplug to check whether the
charger is ok.
c.Check whether the battery has been
damaged.
d.Move the charger and battery pack
to a location where the surrounding air
temperature is approximately 65o F - 75o F
(18o-24o C).
e.If the charging problem persists, take the
tool, battery pack and charger to an authorized
service center.
f.Under certain conditions, when the charger
is plugged into the power supply, the exposed
charging contacts inside the charger can be
shorted by foreign material. Foreign materials
of a conductive nature such as metallic
particles should be kept away from charger
cavities. Always unplug the charger from the
power supply when there is no battery pack in
the charger or before attempting to clean.
4. TO REMOVE OR INSTALL BATTERY
PACK
Locate latches on the side of the battery pack
and depress both sides to release battery pack
from your light. Remove the battery pack from
your light. After recharge insert the battery
pack into the light’s battery port. A simple slip
and slight pressure will be sufficient (See B).
5. ON/OFF SWITCH
To start your light, depress the protective cover
over the switch at the position marked “ ” .
To turn off, depress the protective cover again.
6. MULTI-POSITION FUNCTION
This allows your light to be aimed / directed in
any position to free your hands for working.
All two sections can be rotated independently
for any combination of position (See C.1, C.2).
7. TO REPLACE THE BULB
Warning: The bulb, head cover and
lens become hot when used, it could
burn your fingers. Turn off your light
and allow to cool for several minutes
to ensure the bulb, head cover and lens
become cool before you replace a bulb.
Remove the battery pack from the flashlight
following the above instruction. Unscrew
the flashlight head cover (2) anticlockwise.
Take out the bulb with its frame (See D.1).
Use a new bulb to replace the old one (See
D.2). Then locate the frame tabs (a) under the
housing location (b) by locating one tab before
the other. Check the bulb is seated in the
center of the spring. Replace the head cover
(2) by rotating clockwise, ensure it is located
correctly and do not force it when fitting.
Note: Always uses the correct specification
bulb.
8. BULB STORAGE.
You can find or locate your replacement bulb
in the storage area. Located at the bottom of
the light (See E).
9. DISPOSAL OF AN EXHAUSTED
BATTERY PACK
To preserve natural resources, please
recycle or dispose of the battery pack

properly. This battery pack contains Ni-Mh/
Ni-Cd batteries. Consult your local waste
authority for information regarding available
recycling and/or disposal options. Discharge
your battery pack by operating your light, then
remove the battery pack from the light housing
and cover the battery pack connections with
heavy duty adhesive tape to prevent short
circuit and energy discharge. Do not attempt to
open or remove any of the components.
WORKING HINTS FOR YOUR
WORKING LIGHT
1. THE BULB IS DIM OR NOT WORKING
WHEN I TURN ON THE SWITCH, WHY?
If the battery is not fully charged, recharge
the battery with the supplied battery charger
(Note: Do not charge the battery with a
different charger. Charge the battery pack only
with the charger provided).
Also check if the bulb you used is correct, if
not, replace it with a correct one following the
instructions in this manual.
Warning: The bulb become hot when
used, it could be hurt your finger.
Turn off the switch let your flashlight
cool for several minutes and ensure the
bulb becomes cool before you check the
bulb.
2. I CANNOT FIT THE BATTERY INTO THE
BATTERY CHARGER. WHY?
The battery can be inserted into the charger
only in one direction. Turn the battery around
until it can be inserted into the slot, the red
LED light should turn on when the battery is
charging (See F.1 and F.2).
3. REASONS FOR DIFFERENT CHARGING
TIMES.
Your charge time can be affected by many
reasons, which are not defects in your product.
If the battery pack is only partly discharged
it may be re-charged in less than 1 hour. If
the battery pack and ambient temperature
are very cold then re-charging may take 1-1.5
hours. If the battery pack is very hot it will not
re-charge because the internal temperature
safety cutout will prevent it. If the green light
(9) is illuminated but the red light (8) will not
illuminate and the battery pack is hot then
this will be the problem and NOT a defect.
You must remove your battery pack from the
charger and allow your battery pack to cool
first to ambient temperature and then re-
charging can be started. If you charge a second
battery pack immediately after the first then
the charger can be overheated. Always allow
at least 15 minutes rest between battery pack
charging.
4. REASONS FOR DIFFERENT BATTERY
PACK WORKING TIMES
Charging time problems, as above, and
having not used a battery pack for a prolonged
storage will reduce the battery pack working
time. This can be corrected after several charge
and discharge operations by charging &
working with your flashlight. Do not re-charge
your battery pack below 0ºC and above 30ºC as
this will affect performance.
MAINTENANCE
Your tool requires no additional lubrication or
maintenance. There are no user serviceable
parts in your tool, battery pack or changer.
Never use water or chemical cleaners to clean
your tool. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Always
store your tool in a dry place. Keep the motor
ventilation slots clean. If you see some sparks
flashing in the ventilation slots, this is normal
and will not damage your tool.
ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION
Waste electrical products should not
be disposed of with household waste.
Please recycle where facilities exist.
Check with your Local Authority or retailer for
recycling advice.
