Safety
Please carefully read this user manual in its entirety
before using the toaster. Keep this user manual
in a safe place. If you give the toaster away,
be sure that you include this manual with it.
Failure to comply with these operating instruc-
tions can lead to serious injury or damage to
the appliance. Zwilling does not accept any
liability for damage caused by a failure to
comply to these operating instructions.
Important information for your safety is specifi-
cally marked. Please be sure to observe these
instructions in order to avoid accidents and
damage to the appliance.
Safety information
The toaster (hereinafter referred to as the
“appliance”) is used solely for toasting,
heating, and defrosting slices of bread,
bread rolls, bagels, and yeast dough
products (hereinafter referred to as the
“toasted product”) for domestic use.
Any other use is considered improper
and may result in personal injury or prop-
erty damage.
Do not put any other food items/objects
in the appliance.
Do not toast products coated with butter,
oil, or other fats.
The appliance is intended for domestic
use. It is not intended for commercial use.
The appliance is not intended to be
operated with a timer or a separate
telecontrol system (remote control).
Certain people should use with caution:
This appliance may be used by children
age 8 and above, by people with reduced
physical, sensory, or mental capacity, and
by people with a lack of experience and
knowledge, providing such children and
individuals are supervised or have been
instructed on how to use the appliance
safely and they understand all of the possi-
ble hazards that could result from using the
appliance.
Children must not play with the appliance.
Children must not clean or maintain the
appliance without proper supervision.
Keep the appliance and its connection
cable in a location that is not accessible
to children under 8 years old.
Keep children away from the packaging
material. It poses a suffocation risk.
The appliance is operated with an elec-
tric current. There is therefore a danger
of electric shock:
Only plug the appliance into a correctly
installed socket.
Only operate the appliance if the volt-
age stated on the rating plate matches
the voltage of your socket.
Do not use the appliance outdoors or
in a damp room.

Make sure that the power cable is not
kinked or pinched, and make sure that
the power cable and the appliance do
not come in contact with heat sources
(e.g. stovetops, gas flames).
When unplugging the power plug from
the socket, always unplug the power
plug directly. Do not carry the appliance
by the power cable.
Never touch the power plug with wet
hands.
Never put your fingers inside the toaster.
Never attempt to remove a jammed toast-
ed product from the appliance using a
metal object (e.g. a knife or a fork.) Unplug
the power plug and use a blunt wooden
aid (e.g. wooden spoon) instead.
As long as the power plug is plugged in,
there is a voltage inside the appliance,
even if the appliance is switched off.
After every use and in the event of dan-
ger or a defect, unplug the power plug
from the socket immediately. For this
reason, keep the socket into which the
appliance is plugged easily accessible
at all times.
Unplug the appliance from the socket
prior to cleaning or maintenance.
Never unscrew the appliance and
do not attempt to make any technical
modifications.
Never immerse the appliance in water
or other liquids, do not clean it under
running water, and never put it in the
dishwasher.
There is a risk of fire if the appliance is
switched on:
Toasted products may burn. Never use
the appliance in the vicinity of flammable
materials (e.g. curtains, wall cabinets)
or underneath such materials. The area
above the toaster must always be kept
clear.
Do not place the appliance on flammable
surfaces (e.g. paper napkins.)
Never cover the toaster.
Do not leave the appliance unsuper-
vised when toasting.
When the appliance is switched on and
immediately after toasting, there is a risk
of burns in the toasting slots, on hot hous-
ing parts, and on the toasted product:
During operation of the appliance,
the temperature of touchable surfaces
can be very high. Never touch the metal
surface of the toasting slots.
Never reach into the toasting slots.
Never attempt to remove a toasted
product from the toaster while the
appliance is toasting.
Do not put your hand over the toaster
and do not bend over and put your
face over the toaster while the appliance
is toasting.

Do not move or transport the appliance
while the appliance is toasting.
After toasting, wait at least 5 minutes be-
fore you remove the crumb tray.
Toasted products may spoil if they are
left in the appliance for several days:
Empty the crumb tray on a regular basis
and wipe it off with a damp cloth.
Do not leave any toasted products in
the toaster if you are not using the appli-
ance.
A faulty appliance can cause damage
and injuries:
Check the appliance for damage prior
to each use. If you detect any transport
damage, immediately contact the dealer
from whom you purchased the appliance.
Never operate a faulty appliance.
Never operate an appliance that has
been dropped.
The appliance needs to be repaired in
in the event of a problem or a damaged
power cable. The appliance does not
contain any parts that you are able to
repair yourself.
Damage may occur if the appliance is
handled incorrectly.
Place the appliance on a dry, level, and
non-slip surface.
Do not place the appliance on a hot
surface or in the vicinity of strong sources
of heat.
Do not let the power cable dangle
down. After use, store the cable in the
cable compartment on the underside
of the appliance.
Before you store the appliance:
Unplug the power plug and let the
appliance cool down completely.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electric shock do not immerse cord or plugs in water or
other liquids.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after the
appliance malfunctions, or after the appliance has been damaged in any
manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for
inspection, repair, or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments that are not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may cause injuries.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord dangle over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or
other hot liquids.
12. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To
disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
13. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
14. Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in a toast-
er as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
15. A fire may occur if toaster is covered or touching flammable material, including
curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
16. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is plugged in.

17. Do not operate unattended.
18. When heating toaster pastries, always use the lightest toast color setting.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
a) A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk that may result from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer, detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a longer, detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least
as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
2) The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tab-
letop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally; and
3) If the appliance has a grounded 3-prong plug, the cord set or extension cord
should also have a grounded 3-prong plug.

Before first use
Prior to using the toaster for the first time, you need to set the control dial to the highest toasting
level, then use the toaster twice without any toasted products to remove any dust residue that
could cause odours.

Setting the toasting level/How to toast
In order to toast, you need to set the desired toasting level using the control dial. Begin toasting
by pushing down the lift button.

Additional functions
If you wish to toast deep-frozen toasted products, pre-toasted toasted products, or bagels/burger
buns/yeast dough products, you need to press the corresponding button once toasting has
begun. Insert bagels with the cut surface towards the centre of the toaster.

If you wish to cancel toasting prematurely, you need to press the stop button.
