Quick Start Guide

USB 3G Modem

1Slide open the cover (B) from back of the USB dongle.

Hardware Installation

1Insert a SIM card and a micro SD card (optional). Slide close the

back cover (B).

1Remove the cap (A) from the USB dongle and insert it into the USB

port of your computer.

1Check the Windows taskbar or the Mac pop-up window to see if the

USB dongle is installed properly.

Insert the SIM card (and SD card) with the slanted side matching the

card holder and the metal contact area facing downwards into the

slot, and then push the SIM card (and SD card) as far as possible.

For Windows:

The driver and utility will be automatically installed on your computer. If the

utility failed to install and/or the autorun screen does not display, go and find

a removable disk named ZyXEL 3G Modem on your computer instead.

Double-click StartModem.exe and follow the on-screen instructions to install

the ZyXEL 3G Modem utility.

Driver/Utility Installation

For Mac:

The driver and utility will be automatically installed on your computer. If the

utility failed to install and/or the autorun screen does not display, go and find

a removable disk named ZyXEL 3G Modem on your computer instead.

Double-click ZyXEL 3G Modem.pkg and follow the on-screen instructions to

install the ZyXEL 3G Modem utility.

Initial Configuration

1After the utility is installed successfully, double-click the ZyXEL 3G

Modem icon the open the utility.

1The WAH1004 automatically connects to an available 2G or 3G

network with the default connection profile. If not, click Connect to

establish a connection.

1If PIN authentication is enabled on the inserted SIM card and the

status is PIN blocked, a Verify PIN screen appears asking you to

enter the PIN code. Check with your service provider for the correct

PIN code.

1If your service provider gave you the APN or you want to connect

with a different APN, click the menu icon and select Connection

Profile to open the Options screen. Click New and enter the APN,

user name and password to create a new profile.
