Preface
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing this radio-controlled motion sensor. You made the right decision in
choosing this state-of-the-art technology,
which complies with the current standards of domestic and European regulations. The CE has been
proven and all related certifications are available from the manufacturer upon request.
To maintain this status and to guarantee safe operation, it is your obligation to observe these
operating instructions! In the event of questions, please contact your local specialist dealer.
This radio-controlled motion sensor is used for interior object surveillance. It monitors the
movement of body heat and reports it to a radio alarm system.
Read carefully the notes and advice in these operating instructions! If you do not
follow these instructions, your guarantee claim becomes invalid! We can accept no
liability for the consequences!
No part of the product may be changed or modified in any way.
Installation
1. Open the case by loosening the screw on the base of the sensor and removing the rear.
2. Insert the supplied lithium battery (type AA / 3.6V) correctly in the housing provided (make
sure the polarity is correct).
3. To deactivate the creep-under protection or activate immunity against false alarms caused by
pets, remove the PCB by unscrewing the fixing screw. Rotate the cover downwards. Replace
the PCB and fix it properly.
Selecting the installation location
The sensor is designed for mounting on a wall or in a corner (Fig. 2). Holes have already been cut
out of the rear for this purpose. Use only suitable wall plugs and screws for the installation. When
!
choosing the installation location, check the sensor’s range of view (Fig. 1) and communication
with the alarm system (see “Testing the sensor”).
Do NOT install the sensor:
– opposite sources of heat or windows
– above a radiator
– near the floor
– near large metal structures
– within 1 meter of electric cables or gas pipes
– near electronic equipment or radio devices
Learning
1. Switch your radio alarm equipment / radio receiver to learn mode. See the receiver
instructions for advice on this.
2. Radio variant:
Activate the tamper contact of the motion sensor to send a tamper message to the
radio alarm system.
IR variant:
Point the LED of the motion sensor at the IR receiver of the radio extension (RFX).
Now trigger the tamper contact of the motion sensor.
3. Make sure that the motion sensor is recognised by your radio alarm equipment /
radio receiver and then close the case.
Wall tamper contact
To use the wall tamper contact:
1. Open the knockout hole on the rear of the sensor (Fig. 3). Make sure that the opening is
large enough for the head of the tamper switch.
2. Mark the position of the knockout on the wall where you want to fit the sensor. Drill a hole at
the mark, insert a suitable wall plug, and insert a screw (M3). The screw head must not be
more than 2.5mm from the wall surface.
3. Fix the rear housing cover on the wall. Place the sensor in the dish in such a way that a screw
closes the tamper contact. If this is not the case, unscrew the screw so that it is a little further
out of the wall.
Idle time
To increase the battery life, the sensor has an idle time function. You can reduce the idle time from
3 minutes (factory setting) to 1 minute by removing the jumper from the PCB.
To simplify the sensor test, the idle time in the first 30 minutes after battery insertion is only 10
seconds.
PIR test
1. Switch the alarm system to Walk Test mode (see the system instructions).
2. Leave the zone monitored by the sensor and wait until the idle time expires after each test
(see “Idle time”).
3. Conduct different walk tests to test the monitored zone.
4. If the sensor ir unintentionally triggered, check the installation location again (see “Selecting
the installation location”).
