OPERATING AND MOUNTING MANUAL FOR DIGITAL VIDEO MONITOR
for PRO system:
GLASS-PRO-7 (generation 3)
GENERAL INFORMATION
The digital video intercom system PRO is designed for single and
multi-family solutions, where video signal transmission with audio
signal is required. It also allows for internal communication (intercom)
between inside video monitors. The system topology is based on
twisted-pair cable of category 5e or higher (UTP cable). Dedicated,
energy-saving switched-mode power supply has a built-in video
splitter: 1 control panel input and up to 3 inside video monitor
outputs.
More PRO system features (support for more inside monitors,
connection with others, and description of typical problems) can be
found in the Operating Manual of Digital COMO PRO Panel
available at www.aco.com.pl
The inside video monitor has a modern look and its completely flat
front is made of glass. The hands-free system eliminates the need

OPERATION
When an external panel is calling, the monitor rings the doorbell, flashes the handset, key and monitor icons in succession,
and activates the display, showing the view from the calling panel's camera. A call is answered by touching the handset icon. Once it is
answered, a voice call to the panel is set up, and the handset, key and monitor icons are brightened. Additionally, the volume bar will
light up and the conversation volume control by touching the + and - icons will become active and available. The number of lit LEDs on
the volume bar indicates that current level setting, and the volume bar's total blanking mutes the monitor’s loudspeaker and microphone.
When another monitor is calling (intercom call), the display will not turn on and only the handset icon will flash on the calling monitor.
Intercom calls are handled the same way as panel calls. The default maximum call duration is 4 minutes. After 4 minutes the call is
terminated, and the devices will return to standby mode.
Touching the "–" icon during a call will mute the doorbell (only for the call duration).
Another monitor can be called in the intercom mode when the line is free (the middle volume LED is not flashing) and the call is
activated by touching the handset icon, and then the called monitor address is selected on the volume bar with the + and – icons. The
first (from the left) volume bar LED is the first intercom address, the second is the second address, etc., and when all three LEDs light
up, the monitor will call all intercom addresses at the same time (broadcast call). To call the selected address, touch the handset icon
again and if there is a device with the selected address in the system, the monitor will activate the call. If there is no device with the
selected address, the monitor will give the busy signal and enter the standby mode. If during an intercom call a panel call is incoming,
the intercom call will be terminated and the called monitor will start ringing in the panel call mode.
The monitor has the feature of signalling missed panel calls. When a panel call has not been answered, the monitor icon will
flash in standby mode. To cancel the missed call signal, touch the flashing monitor icon.
The door can be opened (typically by opening the electric lock connected to the external panel) in the standby and call modes
alike. To do this, just touch the key icon. Each door opening is signalled by an audible signal ("beep"). When the line is busy (other users
are calling), the door cannot be opened. If there are two panels in the system, the master panel always has priority and performs all
functions by default, e.g. opens the door or activates the call in the standby mode. However, during a call and conversation the picture
from the calling panel will automatically appear and you can only use this panel to open the door.
The monitor supports the so-called auto-opening feature. The feature automatically activates the electric lock upon calling the
monitor (from the panel), e.g. during office hours.
The auto-opening is enabled by touching the key icon for at least 5s. The feature activation will be confirmed by four quick beeps and
brightening of the key icon. The auto-opening is disabled in the same way - by touching the key for at least 5s. When a monitor with the
auto-opening feature enabled is called from the external panel, it will ring a single doorbell and activate the electric lock in the panel. With
the auto-opening feature enabled all monitor features (except receiving calls from the panel) are still available.
The view (from the master panel camera) can be displayed at any time provided that the line is free (no other users are calling
- the middle volume LED is not flashing). To do this, touch the monitor icon - the view will display in ca. 10 s. If an optional camera switch
module is installed in the system, any subsequent touch of the monitor icon will switch the cameras. The view can be displayed
permanently (for ca. 60 minutes at maximum, afterwards the view will turn off automatically). To do this, touch the monitor icon for at
least 5 s. The feature activation will be confirmed by five quick beeps and brightening of the monitor icon. The view will be displayed
until turned off - by touching the monitor for at least 5 s or until calling any monitors from the panel.
A monitor interoperable with other monitors in the system indicates the busy line occurrence. This is done by blinking the middle
volume LED. The line is busy at the time of a call from the panel to another monitor or between other monitors.
When the line is busy, no intercom call can be set up, and neither the view, nor the electric lock can be activated. Only the optional I/O
module can be controlled.
When attempting to enable a locked feature, the monitor will beep three times and will not execute the command.
Similarly signalled is a bus error preventing the proper operation of the system. If an error is detected, the monitors' handset,
key, and monitor icons are blinking. Then, only the view from the panel camera can be displayed. It is not possible to start the electric
lock cannot be activated, the I/O cannot be controlled, and no call can be made.
If the doorbell (RING) feature is enabled, each pressing of the button (connected directly to the monitor or to the PRO-I/O module)
will play the doorbell melody.

SETTINGS
In standby mode, the following monitor settings can be adjusted: doorbell selection, ring volume, and brightness and saturation
of the image.
The ringing volume is adjusted with the + or - icons. The first time one of these icons is touched, the monitor will play the set
doorbell and will show the currently set volume on the volume bar. Then, touching the + or -
sets the desired volume or, touching the F2 icon changes the bell (each subsequent touch of the F2 icon sets another doorbell).
Image parameters are set with the + or - icons when the view is displayed (by touching the monitor icon in standby mode). At
the first touch of one of these icons, the monitor shows the brightness line on the display. Then, by touching the + or - icons the desired
image brightness is set, or by touching the F2 icon the colour saturation is adjusted.
If nothing has been changed in ca. 5 s, the monitor will save the current settings and return to standby mode.
SYSTEM ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTION
Monitor installation The installation should start from the surface mounting plate. It has three longitudinal holes and one single hole,
from which the assembly should begin. The other holes' layout facilitates levelling the already mounted plate. On the left side of the
monitor (looking at the display) there is the microphone. The monitor should be installed in such a place, where the microphone is not
covered.
Address programming Monitor and intercom addresses can be set with the switches located in the back of the monitor. To make the
monitor responsive to the appropriate button of calls from the external panel, the addresses should be set correctly: the monitor address
must correspond to the address assigned to the call button in the external panel. Addresses from 1 up to 127 can be set with the switches
(higher addresses are only available from the level of the computer application and the optional PRO-USB module). Setting an address:
The IM switch changes the intercom operation mode. Switching the switch ON makes the intercom dependent on the
monitor address. Then two intercom addresses (1 and 2) are available, which operate only within the monitor address, and
a third intercom address (3), operating independently of the monitor address. When the switch is OFF, all 3 intercom
addresses are independent of the monitor address.
Connection It is recommended to connect the monitor in accordance
with the diagram using RJ45 connectors and twisted pair cable (UTP
cable of cat. 5e or higher). In this case, the maximum connection lengths
are: 100 m between the external panel and the power supply, and 70m
between the monitor and the power supply (information about the longer
connection lengths can be found in the Operation Manual of the COMO
PRO Digital Panel). All connectors must be clamped in line with the
T568B standard. Before switching on the power supply, make sure
that all connections have been made according to the diagram, the RJ45 plugs are properly clamped and there are no short
circuits between the wires. The panel connection must be executed while the power supply is off.
Drilling template for wall bracket

If the RJ45 connector is not used, the following connections should be made: power supply to + DC POWER and -DC POWER (GND)
terminals, signal line (communication / audio signal) to LINE terminal, video to V + and V- terminals. A normally open (so-called "doorbell")
push button switch shall be connected to the RING and GND terminals to trigger the doorbell feature.
In each monitor the video terminator should be turned ON - switch 1 (VIDEO TERM). It should be switched off
only in exceptional cases when several monitors are connected to a shared video line (in this case, the
terminator should be turned on only in the last monitor). Switch 2 (LINE TERM) is a line terminator (10 k ohm
resistor) and should be switched on ONLY in the monitor farthest from the panel (in terms of electrical connection). This distance is not
critical and if the farthest monitor cannot be clearly identified, anyone may be selected.
