1. Basic Installation

1.1'USB'Connection

The unit has two USB ports – one on the front and one on the back. Either port can be used to connect a

mouse, flash memory stick, USB optical drive, or other supported USB device.

1.2'Network'Connection

Connect the unit to the LAN through which it will access the Internet and IP cameras using the RJ45 socket

on the rear panel.

The rear panels of the NVR are laid out and labelled as shown below.

2. Startup

Plug in the included power supply and turn on the power switch on the rear panel of the unit. The power

indicator light will illuminate to show that the unit is on. When startup completes, the unit will beep and

default to the video display that was selected prior to its last shutdown.

Note: Restart the unit after an abnormal shutdown to restore the NVR to its state before it powered off.

2.1'Startup'Guide

On first use, the Startup Guide will display (if enabled):

Cloud: Enable cloud services. This cannot be changed in this window.

IPC PnP:

Enable IP camera plug and play feature. This will automatically add IP cameras connected to the rear PoE

ports or cameras on the same network segment.

Do not prompt: Disable startup guide on subsequent restarts.

[Cancel]: Exit the Guide.

[Next Page]: Display QR codes which provide links to the remote viewing mobile apps for iOS and Android,

and give the serial number of the unit. This code can be scanned in the mobile app to add the device.

[Pre Page]: Go back to the previous page.

[Next Page]: Open the System Login box.

2.2'Login

User Name: Enter a user name to log in. There are two default usernames, each having different security

privileges.

•

“admin” is the super user with full system access

•

“guest” is the standard user with preview and playbackrights.

Password: The default passwords for both are “123456”. If the password isentered incorrectly seven

times, the NVR alarm will sound and thedevice will belocked. It can beunlocked byrebooting theunit or

waiting 30 minutes.

Security Recommendation: Default passwords are not secure and are intended for one-time use only.

Please change the user password to astronger, unique password in the [MAIN MENU] – [SYSTEM] –

[USER] menu.

2.3'Network'Guide'

Net Card: Enabled DHCP to dynamically update the NVR IP address depending on the current network

environment.

IP Address: If DHCP is disabled, manually enter a static IP address for the NVR. The default IP address is

192.168.1.18. Click the [NETWORK TESTING] button to perform a network ping test.

Subnet Mask: If DHCP is disabled, manually enter the subnet mask address. The default subnet mask is

255.255.255.0.

Gateway: If DHCP is disabled, manually enter the gateway address. The default gateway is 192.168.1.1.

Primary DNS: If DHCP is disabled, manually enter the primary DNS address. The default primary DNS is

8.8.8.8.

Secondary DNS: If DHCP is disabled, manually enter the secondary DNS address. The default secondary

DNS is 8.8.4.4.

TCP Port: Input the NVR TCP port number. The default port is 34567.

MTU: Configure the maximum transmission unit that can be used in a single network transaction. The

default MTU is 1500.

Mobile Port: Input the NVR mobile port number. The default port is 5800.

HTTP Port: Input the NVR HTTP port number. The default port is 80.

HS Download: Enable for high-speed downloads.

Transfer Policy: Choose between adaptive, quality preferred, or fluency preferred.

Click the [Net Service] button to configure additional network server-related services.

2.3.1'Net'Service'

PPPoE: Double-click to enable Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) and configure related

settings.

NTP: Double-click to enable Network Time Protocol (NTP), select a NTP server, and configure the NTP

update period.

E-mail: Double-click to enable e-mail transmission and configure e-mail server credentials. Click [MAIL

TESTING] to send a test message.

IP Filter: Double-click to enable IP whitelist or IP blacklist and enter IP addresses to be allowed or banned.

DDNS: Double-click to enable and setup Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) to configure an easy to

remember address for remote connections.

FTP: Double-click to enable and configure a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server.

UPNP: Double-click to enable Universal Plug and Play (UPNP) services.

RTSP: Double-click to enable RTSP, edit RTSP port number, and review the RTSP stream URL.

Cloud: Double-click to enable P2P cloud services. Scan the QR codes to download the mobile application

for iOS or Android and the SN code to add the device.

Make sure the NVR IP address and the router are in the same network segment. If the router IP address is

192.168.1.1, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, the NVR should work properly with default network

settings. Generally, the default gateway is the router IP address.

Click [NEXT PAGE] to move to the next page of the startup guide.

2.4'Remote'Device'Guide'

Search: Search the local area network (LAN) for any connected IP cameras. Note: the NVR and IP

cameras must be on the same network segment to establish a connection (e.g., if the NVR IP address is

192.168.1.X, it can connect IP cameras with IP addresses of 192.168.1.Y, Z, etc.).

Add: Select a desired IP camera and click to add the IPC to the NVR.

Quick Add: Automatically add any available IP cameras to any vacant NVR channel.

Protocol: Choose the protocol for connection between the NVR and IPC. This is most commonly the

ONVIF protocol.

Modifying IP Address of IPC: Click to enter the “Modify IP” interface, then modify the IPC IP address

to the desired value. Alternatively, select [QUICK MODIFY IP].

Added Device:

Delete: Delete a selected IPC.

Manual Add: Manually input an IPC address, user name, password, and protocol to add to the NVR.

IPC PnP (Plug and Play): When enabled, the system will automatically add available IPCs to vacant

channels every minute.

AutoSearch: When enabled, the system will automatically search the network for online IPCs and list

these in the Online Equipment pane.

Press [OK] to complete the startup guide and move to the live preview screen.

3. Preview

The system date and time is displayed. In addition, each tile can display the following symbols:
