• Toensurefullstabilitywheninuse,makesurethatthesidesoftheComfortCushiontouchthe

sidesofthebathwhenfullyinated.

• Removeanynonslipmatsfromtheareawherethesuconcupswillbeposioned.

• EnsurethatanyoilandsoapresidueisremovedfromtheComfortCushionandbath.Pay

parcularaenontothesuconcupsandoorofthebath.Ensurethatthesuconcups

adherermlytothebathbeforeeachuse.Thesuconcupsmaynotadheretothesurfacein

bathsthathavebeenre-enamelledorthathaverippledortexturedsurfaces.Donotuseifthe

suconcupsdonotadheretothebath.

• ALWAYSINFLATETHECOMFORTCUSHIONANDUSETHECUSHIONTOLOWERYOURSELFINTO

THEBATH.ThisallowsthemicroprocessorintheAiro12tocalculatetherequiredbaery

powertoraisetheComfortCushionandifitcalculatesthattherewouldbeinsucientpower,

itwillnotallowthehandcontroltooperatethedownfuncon.

• NEVERloweryourselfintothebathbydisconnecngtheComfortCushionairhosefromthe

Airo12compressor.DoingthiswillmaketheComfortCushiondeateinanuncontrollable

mannerandalsothemicroprocessorintheAiro12willnothavecalculatedifthereis

enoughbaerypowertoraisetheComfortCushionwhenreconnected.

• Tomaintainstability,DONOTtrytoloweryourselfintothebathorraiseyourselffromthe

boomofthebathunlyouareINANUPRIGHTSEATEDPOSITIONCENTRALLYANDRIGHTTO

THEBACKOFTHESEATSOTHATYOUARETOUCHINGTHEBACKREST(seegs.7&10).

• Toavoidtheriskofelectricshock,NEVERrechargethebaeryinthebathroom,outdoorsorin

adampenvironment.

• AlwaysdisconnecttheAiro12compressorfromthebaerychargerbeforecleaning.

• DonotuseanyotherairsupplytoinatetheComfortCushion.

• ThesuconcupscontainLatex.UserswithanallergytoLatexshouldtakeparcularcareto

avoidprolongedcontactwiththesuconcups.Thesuconcupsaresituatedatthebaseof

theseatandarenotnormallyindirectcontactwiththeuserduringuse.

• OnlyrechargethebaerywiththebaerychargersuppliedwiththeAiro12compressor.

• Topreventdamage,alwaysreleasethesuconundereachsuconcupbeforeliingtheComfort

Cushionfromthebath.Donotaempttoreleasethesuconbypullingupontheseat,backrest

or‘handle’.

• NeverusehotairtodrytheComfortCushionfollowingcleaningasthismayaecttheintegrity

oftheweldedseamsandfabricandleadtoprematurefailureofthecushionresulnginan

inabilityofthecushiontoraiseyoufromthebath.

• DisconnecttheAiro12compressorfromtheComfortCushionbeforetransporngsoasto

avoidaccidentalinaonofthecushion.

• Donotusebathaddivescontainingpeanutoilasthiscandamagethesuconcups.Ifsuch

addiveshavebeenused,ensurethatthesuconcupsarethoroughlywashedandrinsedto

removeresidues.

Intended use

TheComfortCushion,manufacturedbyMangarHealth,ispoweredbythebaeryoperated

Airo12compressorandisintendedsolelyforuseasabathingaidtoassistapersontolower

themselvesintoandoutofabath.Usersshouldhavesucientupperbodystrengthtobeable

toholdthesidesofthebathforaddedsupportifrequired.TheComfortCushionisnotintended

foranyotheruseandshouldneverbeusedoutsideofabath.Whenproperlymaintained,the

ComfortCushionwillgivemanyyearsoftroublefreeservice.

Construcon

TheComfortCushionisconstructedfromaverystrongpolyurethanecoatednylonmaterialwhich

hasbeenprecisioncutintopanelsandthenjoinedtogetherbyhighfrequencywelding.This

producesaverystronglightweightandairghtconstrucon.TheComfortCushionincorporates

anairpressurereliefvalvewhichwillnotallowthecushiontobeoverinatedbytheAiro12

compressor.

ontheAirooronthehandcontrol.

NOTE:Thebaerymustbeputonchargeimmediatelyassoonastheredindicatorlightappears.

RunningtheAiro12onREDunlthebaeryisexhaustedwilldamagethebaery.

Whenthecompressorisrunning,thebaerystatusindicatorlightswillonlyindicatethestateof

baerychargeasitwasatthestartoftheli.Whenthecompressorstopsrunning,thebaery

statusindicatorwillshowaboomgreenlight(thiswillberedifthebaerychargehasbecome

low).Todeterminethetruebaerystatefollowingali,pressthe‘BaeryStatusIndicator’buon

andthelightswillindicatethebaerychargestate.

IMPORTANT: To maximize the life and liing performance of the baery, fully recharge the

baery for 16 hours. When the baery is new, it will not reach its peak performance and

capacity unl it has been discharged and recharged at least 3 to 5 mes.

Fully charge the baery for a minimum of 16 hours before using the Airo 12 for the rst me

and when a new baery has been ed.

• Check the baery charger casing and lead

forsignsofdamageandifdamagedDONOT

USE.

• Fit the appropriate mains plug adaptor to

thebaerycharger(A g.1).

• Plugthebaerychargerintoamainspower

socketandconnectthechargeroutputlead

totheAiro 12chargingsocket(B).

NOTE: The baery must be recharged for a

minimumof16hourstoachievefullcapacity.

When the baery is being charged:

• For the rst 2 hours, the boom light will

showasteadyredandthenextlightwillbe

ashinggreen.Aer2hoursthe lightswill

changetotwosteadygreenandoneashing

green.Aer16hoursalllightswillbecome

steadygreen.

NOTE: If charging is momentarily interrupted

(a power cut, switching the power socket o

or disconnecng the charging lead), on re-

connecon, the charging process will start at

the beginning and follow the sequence above

forthenext16hours.

NOTE: Thechargerisnotcapableofprovidingsucientpowertochargethebaerywhilethe

compressorisrunning.

WARNING:DONOTrechargethebaeryinabathroomorinadampenvironment.

Todisconnectthechargerfromthemainspowersupply,unplugthechargerfromthemainspower

socket.

• Removeanynonslipmatsfromthearea

wherethesuconcupswillbeposioned.

• Ensuretheboomofthebathisclean

andsmooth,withnooilorbathcleaner

residuesthatwillpreventthesuconfeet

fromscking.WARNING:Thesuconcups

maynotadheretothesurfaceinbaths

thathavebeenre-enamelledorthathave

rippledortexturedsurfaces.Donotuseif

thesuconcupsdonotadheretothebath.

• Passtheairhosethroughtheloopinthe

cornerofthebackrest(Ag.2),onthe

sidethatyouproposegengintoandout

ofthebath.Theairinletvalve(B)canbe

rotated,allowingthehosetobeledtothe

appropriatecorner.

• Holdthe‘handle’andpulltheComfort

Cushiontowardstheslopeofthebath

unlthereisagapofapproximately25mm

betweenthebathslopeand‘handle’

(Cgs.3&4).

• Firmlypressallfoursuconcupsdown

andcheckthattheyaresecurelystuckto

thebath.Wetthemtohelpthemsckif

necessary.

• Foldthebackrestoutsothatitrestsonthe

slopeofthebath.

cupstotheoorofthebath.Checkallfour

suconcupsaresecurelystucktothebath.

Wetthemtohelpthemsckifnecessary.

• Whilstsllclothedandwiththehelpof

anassistantifrequired,carryoutsome

dry‘pracceruns’accordingtothese

instruconsunlyouaretotallycondent

usingtheproduct.

NOTE:Duringa‘drytrial’theComfortCushion

maymakeanoisewhenbeingloweredand

raisedduetothefabricrubbingagainstthedry

sidesofthebath,thisisnormalandthenoise

willdisappearwhenthebathisfullofwater.

To get into the bath

• WiththeComfortCushioninthebath,

ensurethatall4suconcupsareadhering

totheoorofthebath,llthebathwith

wateratasuitabletemperature(Maximum

50°C/120°F).

• WiththeComfortCushion fully inated,sit

ontheseatandthenswingyourlegsinto

thebath.

• Tomaintainstability,ENSURETHATYOU

ARESEATEDCENTRALLYANDRIGHTAT

THEBACKOFTHESEATSOTHATYOUARE

TOUCHINGTHEBACKREST(g.7).

WARNING:Donotsitfurtherforwards

asshowningure8,asyoumayslideo

thefrontoftheseatandsustainpossible

seriousinjury.

• Select‘Down’toloweryourselfintothe

bath.KEEPYOURKNEESBENTANDFEET
