Boston Acoustics VR-MC Bedienungsanleitung

New Product Announcement

VR-MC

Center Channel Loudspeaker

The VR-MC is a new high performance center channel

speaker from Boston Acoustics that sonically and cos-

metically compliments our highly acclaimed VR-M moni-

tors. Its accurate, wide-range response delivers clear dia-

log and dynamic on-screen sound effects with

unmatched clarity and articulation.

The VR-MC is designed and manufactured at our

Peabody, Massachusetts facility using state-of-the-art,

design software and is built on our own proprietary pro-

duction lines. Like all Boston speakers, it is built to exact-

ing standards, widely respected as among the industry's

tightest tolerances.

The VR-MC combines an active 51⁄4" (133mm) bass driver

and a 51⁄4" (133mm) passive radiator to deliver low fre-

quency extension to 65Hz. Both active and passive driv-

ers are built with cast aluminum baskets. The woofers are

coupled with a black anodized 1" (25mm) aluminum

dome VR tweeter. This remarkable driver produces an

extremely smooth, flat response well beyond the audible

range. A die-cast aluminum heatsink attached to the

tweeter's backplate dissipates heat quickly and efficient-

ly, assuring cool, trouble-free operation even at very high

power levels. The combination makes for a perfect sonic

match for the VR-M monitors. The drivers are positioned

very close to each other for smooth, uniform radiation in

both the horizontal and vertical planes for maximum cov-

erage of the listening area.

Cosmetically, the VR-MC maintains the unique appear-

ance of the VR-M monitors. The cabinet features a solid

wood top in either cherry or black ash, and real wood

veneer sides. The result is a luxurious piece of furniture

for the top of your TV that is gracefully tapered to expose

only a thin strip of wood above the baffle when viewed

directly from the front. The cabinet is as functional as it is

beautiful, featuring heavy internal bracing for strength and

rigidity, eliminating unwanted resonance.

The VR-MC features dual

gold-plated, 5-way binding

posts, allowing for bi-wiring

or bi-amping connections

with virtually any cable for

optimum sound. The

VR-MC also features

Boston’s MagnaGuard®

magnetic shielding. This

technology assures com-

plete compatibility in all

home theater systems by

preventing unwanted

television interference. VR-M Family with PV1000 Subwoofer

Amplitude Modification Device

Our sophisticated VR tweeter may be the smoothest, most accurate

high-frequency driver available today. We use a 1-inch (25mm) dome

made from anodized pure aluminum. We chose anodized pure

aluminum for the diaphragm for several reasons: Compared

to a soft dome, aluminum is equally light and more rigid;

the added stiffness improves off-axis dispersion and

consequently the total radiated power above12kHz.

Compared to other hard dome materials such as titanium,

phenolic, and polycarbonate, our pure aluminum dome has

a resonance beyond the audible range (25kHz) and is far

better damped. This tweeter is unrivaled in its ability

to accurately track the input signal.

To further optimize the tweeter’s response, we

use our patented Amplitude Modification Device

(AMD).The AMD is an innovative acoustic tuning

device, positioned in front of the aluminum dome.

It consists of five miniature ducts of slightly varying

lengths precisely tuned to create an extremely smooth

response.Their tuning is so critical, manufacturing is done to watchmak-

ers standards—the tweeter's AMD is accurate to ±.001inch (.025mm)!
