Warning!
• The product should not be taken apart or modified. Certain exposed parts inside the casing carry
dangerous current. Touching these can lead to fire or electric shock.
• The product is designed for indoor use only.
• Never subject the product to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts, humidity or moisture.
• Do not place the product where there is a risk of it falling into water or other liquid. Do not place containers
with liquid on the product e.g. flower vases, coffee cups, fizzy drink bottles.
• Disconnect the device from the power supply by unplugging it from the wall socket. The product’s plug should
be easily accessible.
• The on/off switch only switches the device into standby power mode and does not totally cut off current
from the mains.
• Protect your hearing. Listening to the player on high volume for prolonged periods can lead to permanent
hearing loss.

Certain number keys have dual functions: 4 [ZOOM/MENU], 5 [SUBTITLE/TITLE], 17 [AUDIO/ANGLE],
18 [REPEAT/PROG].
• Press briefly to use the primary function or press and hold for more than 1.5 seconds to use
the secondary function.

Connections
Connect the DVD player to the TV using an audio lead with RCA connectors
Connect the audio lead to the FR and FL outlets on the DVD player and to the AUDIO IN on the TV.
Connect the DVD player to the TV using a SCART lead
1. Connect the SCART lead to the DVD player SCART OUT and to the TV’s SCART IN.
2. Set the DVD player’s VIDEO OUT to COMPOSITE or RGB.
Connect the DVD player to the TV using the HDMI lead
1. Connect a HDMI lead to the DVD player’s HDMI outlet and to the HDMI IN on the TV.
2. Set the DVD player’s VIDEO OUT to HDMI.
Connect the DVD player to a 5.1 audio amplifier
1. Connect a coaxial cable between the coaxial/digital audio outlet of the DVD player and the coaxial/digital audio
inlet of the amplifier.
2. Connect an audio lead with RCA connectors between the RCA outlets on the DVD player and the corresponding
inlets on the amplifier. FL (front left), FR (front right), SL (rear left), SR (rear right), CEN (front centre), SW
(subwoofer/bass).
3. Set the DVD player’s [Digital output] to [Raw] (The DVDs original soundtrack) or [PCM] (2-channel stereo signal).
4. Set the amplifier to the inlet that the lead is connected to.

Operation
Setup
1. Press [SETUP] to open the main menu. The following sub-menu options are available: Language (language
settings) – Video (video settings) – Audio (audio settings) – Rating (parent control) – Misc (reset to manufacturer’s
original settings).
2. Use the arrow keys [] to select a sub-menu.
3. Confirm by pressing [OK].
4. Exit the main menu by pressing [SETUP].
Language
Select Language from the Setup menu to display
the sub-menu:
• OSD Language (selects menu language).
• Subtitle (selects subtitle language).
• MPEG4 subtitle (selects language for
MPEG4 subtitles).
• Audio (selects language for audio).
• DVD menu (selects language for DVD menus.)
Video
Select Video from the Setup menu to display
the sub-menu:
• Aspect Ratio (sets the TV’s picture format).
• TV System (selects the TV-system. PAL is
the most common in Europe).
• Video Out (selects the video output signal. Select
RGB when connecting with a SCART lead).
• HD Resolution (sets the desired HD resolution).
Audio
Select Audio from the Setup menu to display
the sub-menu:
• Analog Output: select 5.1 (surround sound)
or 2.0 (2-channel stereo) audio output.
• Digital Output: (selects the audio output format;
Off, PCM (2-channel stereo) RAW (DVD’s
original audio track).
• Down Sampling On (down sampling exceeding
96 k), Off.

Rating
Select Rating from the Setup menu to display
the sub-menu:
• Parental control (restricts access to adult viewing).
A password is required to adjust the settings.
The preset factory password is: 6666.
• To change the password: enter the four digit code,
and then press [OK] to confirm.
• If you forget your password: enter 6666
to gain access.
Miscellaneous
Select Misc from the Setup menu to display
the sub-menu:
• Use Default Settings (resets to manufacturer’s
original settings).
• Screen Saver (enables or disables the screen
saver option).
DVD Playback
• Insert a DVD and use the arrow keys [] to navigate the disc menu.
CD, MP3, WMA, JPEG or MPEG4 Playback
If a normal music CD or a disc containing MP3, WMA, JPEG, or MPEG4 files is inserted into the DVD player,
the following directory will appear on the TV screen:
• Use the arrows keys [] to select
track/function and press [OK] or [PLAY]
to start the selected track/function.

Displaying pictures written on a CD
If a photo CD is inserted into the DVD player, the following directory will appear on the TV screen:
• Use the arrow keys [] to select
the different functions in the same way as
for the CD playback menu.
USB Memory/Memory Card Playback
• Turn off CD/DVD playback.
• Insert a USB memory/MP3 player into the USB port on the front of the DVD player.
• Insert a memory card into the card reader slot on the front of the DVD player. The card reader can read 3 types
of card: MMC, SD and MS.
• All playback of media from a USB memory/memory card uses the same functions as for playback of media from
CDs or DVDs.
Note! Care should be taken when inserting the USB memory/memory card into its port/slot so that neither
the memory device nor DVD player is damaged.
Care and maintenance
Cleaning
• Always unplug the adaptor from the wall socket before cleaning.
• Make sure that no liquids penetrate the DVD player.
• Use only a lightly moistened cloth when cleaning the exterior.
• Never use solvents or strong detergents.
Disc care
• Hold the disc by the hole and edge when handling in order
to avoid fingerprints and dirt from contaminating the surface.
• Do not bend the disc or expose it to direct sunlight or heat.
• Clean the discs with a soft dry cleaning cloth starting from the centre
and working outwards. Never use solvents or strong detergents.
• Store the discs upright in their cases.
Note!
• The original packaging should be used to transport the DVD player safely.
• It is normal that the casing and rear of the player become warm if the unit
has been on for some time.
• Do not move the player during playback, both the disc and the player
could be damaged.
• Press OPEN/CLOSE on the front of the unit or on the remote control
to open the disc tray. Do not push or pull
the disc tray to open or close it.

Troubleshooting
No picture or sound
• Check that the DVD player is not in standby mode.
• Check that the mains lead is properly plugged into a wall socket.
• Check to see if there is power at the wall socket.
Picture but no sound
• Check that the audio lead is not damaged and that it is correctly connected to the DVD player and TV.
• Check that the DVD player’s audio settings are set correctly.
• Check that the audio settings on your TV are correct.
• Check that the MUTE function is not activated.
Sound but no picture
• Check that the SCART and HDMI leads are not damaged and that they are connected correctly
to the DVD player and the TV.
• Check that the TV is correctly set to receive Video/HDMI.
• Check that the DVD player’s Video/HDMI settings are set correctly.
Poor picture or sound
• Check that the TV and DVD player’s audio settings are correct.
• Check that the disc is neither scratched nor dirty.
• Check for damaged cables/leads and make sure connections are tight.
The message “BAD DISC” or “NO DISC” is displayed
• Check that there is a disc in the disc tray.
• Check that the correct type of disc is used, if by mistake a software CD has been used, the DVD player
will need to be restarted.
• Check that the disc is not upside down, scratched, dirty or distorted.
The remote control doesn’t work
• Check that the DVD player is not in standby mode.
• Check the battery of the remote control.
• Point the remote towards the DVD player’s IR sensor, making sure there are no obstructions in between.
