Example: For 4 soft-boiled eggs, fill themeasuring cup to level 4 on scale 1. If your
water is very hard you can also add half ateaspoon of vinegar. Otherwise, no other
liquids besides water may be used. Never use salt in theegg boiler.
5. Pour themeasured water from themeasuring cup into thewater tray. Be careful
not to spill any water.
6. Refit thelid. Make sure that thelid and egg rack are securely seated onto thebase.
7. Make sure that theon/off switch is set to 0when you connect thedevice to themains.
8. Plug theegg boiler into awall socket and set theon/off switch to 1. The indicator
lamp will come on.
9. When all thewater in theboiler has evaporated theegg/s will be ready and asignal will
sound. The indicator lamp will go out and theheating element will automatically turn off.
10. Set theon/off switch to 0to turn off theaudible signal. Pull theplug out.
11. Carefully remove thelid from thebase. Hold thelid by thehandle!
12. Remove theegg rack from thebase and cool theeggs by running them under cold
water. The eggs are now ready to serve.
Care and cleaning
Always unplug theegg boiler from thewall socket before cleaning. Never immerse
theegg boiler in water. The lid and egg rack can be washed in thesink. The base
and thewater tray should be wiped with asoft, water-moistened cloth with alittle
washing-up liquid. Avoid using solvents and abrasive cleaning agents. Dry carefully
after cleaning.
Warning: Do not allow any electrical components to come into contact with water.
Descaling
Eggshells are rich in calcite. This can build up on thewater tray if it is not descaled
regularly. To descale, make adescaling mixture by pouring asmall amount of vinegar
into themeasuring cup and then filling therest with water. Pour themixture into
thewater tray. Let themixture stand and work for 30 minutes before emptying thetray.
Dry carefully with asoft cloth. Note: Do not boil themixture in theegg boiler!
