Brief Summary:

Field replacement document for replacing the GMU fan’s

Action:

Note that below action will require working in the power supply, and failing to follow the

below guide can cause electrical shock.

Tools needed

Tools needed:

Torque wrench (0.5 –2.0 Nm)

Torx 10 bit

Wrench

Replacing the part:

Disconnect the mains plug.

1. Leave the ACU for 10 min for the power

supply to discharge.

2. Remove the ACU lid by removing the 12

screws on the top and the 2x5 screws on the

sides.

3. Cut open the three cable tights

4. Remove using a Torx 10.

5. Disconnect the fans.

6. Remove eight screws / nuts using a wrench /

Torx 10.

7. Remove the fans

8. Install the new fan as shown.

Install the eight screws holding the fan.

0.5Nm

9. Connect the fans

10. Install the new cable tights. 0.5Nm

(Make sure to loop the left over wire)

Cut the cable tights

11. Mount the ACU lid, installing the 16 screws

on the top and the 2x7 screws on the sides.

1.0Nm

Verify the Initialization of the SAILOR VSAT ADU:

After replacing the defective component re-initialize the pedestal and verify its operation.

1. Verify that the VSAT POST is completed without any errors / warnings.

2. Then verify that the system is online and full functionality is restored.
