Datalogic POWERSCAN 7000 2D Imager Bedienungsanleitung

Installing the Stand

1. Determine the best location to position the stand. Some considerations are:

• Proximity to the host. Verify that the stand will be placed within a reasonable distance of the host, and that any

cabling can be routed between the devices without kinking, stretching or exposing cabling to tampering or other

potential damage.

• Stability. Avoid positioning the stand in such a way as to subject it to excess vibration, bumping, spillage, etc.

• Ergonomics. Ensure the user can easily adjust the angle of the imager to maximize comfort and efficiency.

2. The stand’s weighted base and traction “feet” allow it to be a stable freestanding unit, however, if you wish to perma-

nently attach it to a table or countertop, use the template provided to locate and mark the position of the screw holes

needed to secure the stand.

Using the Stand

Seat the imager in the holder as shown and route cabling as necessary. For Scan Stand Mode, adjust the

flexible gooseneck to aim the imager at the Scan Stand Symbol located on the stand’s base. The unit will

remain idle as long as it sees the Scan Stand symbol. When a different bar code is presented, the Imager

is activated to read the new code.

Alternatively, when the stand is used in Presentation Mode, the imager can be pointed in any direction

desired. For example, it might be pointed outwards to accomodate larger items.

Selecting the Scan Mode

To configure the imager for use with or without the Hands Free Stand, read the descriptions below and

scan the programming bar code associated with the desired mode.

Scan Stand Mode and Presentation Mode are referred to as “hands free” modes. If the imager’s trigger is

pulled when using a hands free mode, the imager changes to manual trigger mode for a configurable

duration which can be set using the Product Reference Guide1(PRG). Once the time-out value is reached,

(if there have been no further trigger pulls) the imager reverts to the original hands free mode.

Scan Stand Mode

When a unit is in Scan Stand Mode, the LEDs shine at the Scan Stand Symbol2on the base of the stand

which tells it to remain idle. When the Scan Stand Symbol is blocked from the imager’s view, the imager

turns the LEDs on at the configured power level (Default High) and attempts to find and decode bar codes

in its field of view.

NOTE

The imager automatically adjusts the illumination LEDs

to the lowest light level possible to maintain a good lock

on the Scan Stand Symbol. When a bar code is presented,

the imager’s light levels adjust to the saved setting. See

the Product Reference Guide1(PRG) if you wish to pro-

gram the LED Power Level.

Presentation Mode

This programs the imager to work in Presentation Mode, which does not require the imager to be pointed

at the Scan Stand Symbol. When an imager is in Presentation Mode, the LEDs can be configured to turn

off immediately after a bar code is decoded or to stay on and continue scanning for a short time after.

See the PRG1for advanced programming options for this feature.

Manual/Serial Trigger Mode

Select this mode when you are removing the imager from service with the stand. When in this mode, you

can activate the imager either by pressing the trigger, or using a serial trigger command, depending upon

advanced options that have been set using the PRG1.

• Manual Trigger Mode — The imager scans until a bar code is read, or until the trigger is released.

• Serial Mode — The imager scans until a bar code has been read or until the deactivate command is sent.

1. The Product Reference Guide and other manuals for this product are available for download from the website: www.data-

logic.com.

2. If the Scan Stand Symbol becomes damaged or otherwise unusable, contact your dealer to acquire a replacement label.
