Please read carefully through the following information and keep these instruc-

tions, in case you need to refer to them later. If you pass the product on to

someone else, please also include these instructions.

Designated use

zThis mixer set is for the purpose of processing food for the conventional amounts in

private households. The food must be suitable for this.

zThis product is designed for private use in enclosed spaces. This product is unsuitable

for commercial or household use in restaurants, hotels, motels or other residential

facilities or in bed and breakfast establishments.

zThe mixer can only be used together with the base, the appliance is not a hand mixer.

You have made an excellent choice with the purchase of this quality Delta®brand

product.

By doing so you now have the assurance and peace of mind which comes from

purchasing a product that has been manufactured to the highest standards of perform-

If you require technical support or in the unlikely event that your purchase is faulty

please telephone our Helpline for immediate assistance. Faulty product claims made

within the 3 year warranty period will be repaired or replaced free of charge provided

that you have satisfactory proof of purchase (keep your till receipt safe!). This does

not affect your statutory rights. However, be aware that the warranty will become null

and void if the product is found to have been deliberately damaged, misused or

disassembled.

Hazard for children and a wider group of persons

zThis appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited phys-

ical, sensory or mental abilities or lacking experience and/or knowledge, unless they are

supervised by a person responsible for their safety or have received instructions for use

of the device from this person in advance.

zKeep children away from packaging material. Please dispose of responsibly.

zChildren should be supervised in order to ensure that they do not play with the appli-

ance.

Hazard from electricity

zThe mixer must not be immersed in water or other liquids. Electric shock hazard! Also,

do not use the device in the direct vicinity of moisture sources, e.g. a sink.

zDo not operate appliance outdoors.

zOnly connect the mixer to a properly installed socket with protective contacts.

zEnsure that the socket is well-accessible, so that you can remove the mains plug quickly,

if necessary.

zDo not use the mixer:

- if the mixer, base or other parts are damaged,

- the power cable or plug are damaged,

- the device has fallen.

zUnwind the power cable completely prior to use. Ensure that the power cable is not

damaged by sharp edges or hot items.

zDisconnect the mains plug from the socket:

- if you are inserting/removing the beaters/kneading hooks from the mixer,

- if you are placing the mixer on/removing the mixer from the base,

- if you are not using the mixer,

- after each use,

- before cleaning or putting the appliance away,

- if an obvious fault occurs during operation,

- in a thunder storm.

Always pull on the plug, not on the cable.

zDo not carry out any modifications to the appliance or its mains cable. Only allow

repairs to be carried out on appliances by a professional workshop.

zDo not use an extension cord.

Injury hazard

zDo not use the mixer without operator attention.

zNever remove the mixer from the base if it is still switched on. Never place the mixer

on the base when switched on and with rotating inserts.

zNever allow the mains cable to hang over the edge of a table or worktop.

zAfter switching off, the beaters/kneading hooks continue to run briefly. Wait until the

inserts have stopped completely before handling the mixer.

zNever reach into the rotating inserts. Also keep other kitchen utensils away from the

inserts, e.g. spoons.

Caution – property damage

zOnly press the eject button on the mixer when the inserts have completely stopped

moving.

zFood may only be processed with the mixer, which is suitable. Hard food, e.g. ice cubes

and coffee beans are not suitable.

zThe appliance is designed for short-term operation of max. 6 minutes. After this, the

appliance must cool off for approx. 10 minutes before you use it again.

zOnly use the turbo function for a brief moment (approx. 30 seconds), in order to

prevent overloading the motor.

zOnly use the beaters and kneading hooks which came with the product to operate the

machine. Only use the supplied mixing bowl.

zDo not place or operate the base near intense heat sources, e.g. hob burners

zThere are feet on the underside of the appliance. As the counter surfaces are made of

diverse materials and are treated with diverse care products, it cannot be entirely ruled

out that some of these materials contain components, which could attack and soften

the appliance feet. If necessary, place a non-slip base under the appliance feet.

zSplashing can occur when processing food. Place the device on an even, heatproof and

splatter-proof surface.

zDo not use any aggressive chemical detergents, abrasives, hard sponges, or similar, for

cleaning.

zDo not carry the mixer using the handle when the mixer is

attached to the base. The locking hooks with which the

mixer is attached to the base are not suitable for this. The

hooks can break.

Prior to Initial Use

Unpacking and cleaning

1. Remove all parts from the box.

2. Check whether all parts are available and obviously undamaged.

3. Remove the packaging materials and completely unwind the power cable.

4. Clean all parts as described in "Cleaning" section, see page 11.

Use

The mixer is a standing appliance that can only be used together with the base.

Do not operate the appliance as a hand mixer.

Insert beater / kneading hook

The selection of the insert depends on the food to be processed:

zBeaters are used e.g. for creams, whipping cream, light batters, mashed potatoes or

for mixing pudding powder.

zKneading hooks are used for kneading heavy dough, such as shortcrust pastry

Remove the plug from the socket when you are inserting beaters/kneading hooks.

Place the mixer on the base

XInsert the beaters/kneading hooks into the mixer.

This may require the beaters/kneading hooks to be rotated

slightly.

The locking-in of the beaters/kneading hooks must be heard/

felt.

Please observe that the mixer's plug-in openings are

of different size.

If you are not able to plug the kneading hooks, you

probably transposed the openings.

1. Push the unlocking button (5) down.

2. Place the mixer into the mixer holder.

3. Release the unlocking button again.

4. Press the pivot button (6) and fold the mixer up.

5. Place the mixing bowl (10) filled with ingredients on the

rotary plate (8) in the base.

- Hold the rotary in place with one hand.

- Turn the mixing bowl clockwise with the other hand

until it locks in.

In order to remove the mixing bowl, you must hold the rotary plate in place.

Turn the mixing bowl anti-clockwise with the other hand as far as it will go.

6. Press the pivot button (6) and fold the mixer down.

Do not allow the mixer to fall. Move the appliance into the lower position.

The beaters/kneading hooks must reach into the ingredients.

This way, the mixer contents are combined better.

Switching On and Off (mixing)

DANGER

Never reach into the rotating inserts. Also keep other kitchen utensils away from

the inserts, e.g. spoons.

CAUTION

The appliance is designed for short-term operation of max. 6 minutes. After this,

the appliance must cool off for approx. 10 minutes before you use it again.

1. Completely unwind the power cable. Insert the plug into a mains socket.

2. Set the on-off switch and speed control (4) to the required mixing level.

The beaters/kneading hooks will start to rotate.

Pay attention to the recipe details regarding mixing duration and mixing level.

3. Set the on-off switch and speed control (4) to 0 Off, to switch off the mixer.

7. If required, adjust the position of the beater/kneading

inserts in the bowl using the slider (9).

- Push slider down and move to the right - the inserts

work near the edge of the bowl.

- Push slider down and move to the left - the inserts

work near the middle of the bowl.

Using the turbo function

CAUTION

Only use the turbo function for a brief moment (approx. 30 seconds), in order to

prevent overloading the motor.

The turbo function can be used for every level. As soon as you press the TURBO (1)

button, the set speed increases.

Only use this function when the appliance needs more output for mixing, e.g. when knead-

ing heavy yeast dough.

As soon as you release the TURBO button, the mixer continues to operate at the set

mixing level.

Tips on mixing and kneading

zTemperature and consistency have an influence on the selection of the correct mixing

level.

zIf you start with a low speed level, splashing is avoided. Only switch to a higher speed

after this.

zOnly lift the mixer out when it is no longer rotating. This way, you also reduce the risk

of splashing.

zDo not break eggshells directly at the edge of the bowl, but rather, in a separate

container, if possible. This avoids eggshell residues entering into the mixture.

zMixing is easier if you remove cold or chilled products (cream cheese, butter, etc.) from

the refrigerator a while before mixing.
