for

use

prophylaxis

treatment,

periodontia

and

other

ares

operative

dentistry,

the

Unit

manufactured

the

Cavitron

Division

Cooper

Medical Devices

Corporation,

New

York,

and

distributed

Dentsply

International

Inc.

Essentially,

the

Unit

operates

converting

ordinary

house

current

into

25,000

current.

This

turn

converted

means

the

handpiece

and

insert

into

25,000

microscopically

small

mechanical

strokes

per

second.

These

rapid,

microscopic

strokes

are

then

transmitted

the

insert

tip.

Applied

with

water

spray

and

light

guiding

touch,

the

activiated

tip,

conjunction

with

the

bubbling

action

the

water,

rapidly

and

gently

dislodges

calculus

and

stain.

CAUTION

The

Dentsply-Cavitron

Unit

should

not

used

for

restorative

dental

procedures

involving

the

condensation

Amalgam.

PRECAUTIONS:

The

Unit

has

four

major

components:

electronic

generator,

handpiece

assembly

(retraction

reel

optional),

set

interchangeable

inserts,

and

foot

(fingertip

control

optional)

control.

GENERATOR

AND

WATER

SYSTEM

The

electronic

generator

enclosed

the

cabinet

produces

the

power

required

for

activating

the

handpiece.

The

following

controls

are

found

its

control

panel

(Figure
