Funktion und Anwendung

Im MPYE wird der Ventilschieberhub

proportional zu einem vorgegebenen

Sollwert eingestellt. Das analoge, elek-

trische Eingangssignal bewirkt eine

stufenlose Verstellung des Ventil-

schiebers. Das MPYE steuert dadurch

den Volumenstrom:

- in Größe (kontinuierliche Drossel-

funktion) und

- in Richtung (5/3-Wege-Funktion).

Das MPYE dient bestimmungsgemäß

zur Geschwindigkeits-Steuerung und

zum Positionieren eines Zylinders.

•Stellen Sie sicher, daß hochfre-

quente Einstrahlungen (z.B. durch

Funkgeräte, Handtelefone oder son-

stige störaussendende Geräte) vom

MPYE ferngehalten werden.

So vermeiden Sie erhöhte Toleran-

zen der Durchflusskennwerte (vgl.

hierzu die Angaben zur EMV im Kapi-

tel Technische Daten).

•Verwenden Sie das MPYE nur im

Industriebereich.

Function and application

In the MPYE valve, the valve-slide

stroke is controlled proportionally to a

specified setpoint. The analogue electri-

cal input signal produces a stepless var-

iation of the flow rate.

The MPYE thus controls the flow rate as

regards its

- magnitude (continuous throttle-valve

function) and

- direction (5/3-way function).

The MPYE has been designed for con-

trolling the speed and position of a cylin-

der.

•Make sure that all high-frequency

devices (e.g. walkie-talkies, portable

telephones and other devices which

produce interference) are kept away

from the MPYE.

In this way you can avoid increased

tolerances of the flow characteristics

(refer to the specifications on EMC in

the section "Technical specifica-

tions").

•Use the MPYE only in industrial envi-

ronments.

Einbau

mechanisch

•Behandeln Sie das MPYE so, dass

keine Schäden am elektrischen An-

schluss auftreten.

Diese führen zur Minderung der

Funktionssicherheit.

•Achten Sie auf genügend Platz für

den Kabelanschluss und die Schlau-

chanschlüsse.

Dadurch wird ein Abknicken des An-

schlusskabels vermieden.

•Plazieren Sie das MPYE möglichst

nahe am anzusteuernden Zylinder.

Dies führt zu besserem Regelverhal-

ten und kürzeren Ansprechzeiten des

Systems.

Fitting

Mechanical

•Take care when handling the

MPYE to prevent any damage to the

electrical connection.

Damage will impair reliable operation.

•Ensure that sufficient space is avail-

able for the connecting cable and

tubing.

This will prevent the cable from

kinking.

•Install the MPYE as close as pos-

sible to the cylinder which it is to

control.

This will give better control charac-

teristics and faster system response

times.

Zur Sichtkontrolle des Ventilschiebers:

•Lassen Sie das Sichtfenster ¯zur

Einsichtnahme frei.

Bei Montage auf bewegten Teilen

(z.B.: DGP):

•Stellen Sie sicher, dass das

MPYE stets senkrecht zur Be-

schleunigungsrichtung bewegt wird

(Montage senkrecht zur Beschleuni-

gungsrichtung des bewegten Teils).

Dadurch vermeiden Sie Störungen

durch auftretende Beschleunigungs-

kräfte am Ventilschieber.

Zur Montage von MPYE-5-1/8-... und

MPYE-5-M5-... :

•Verwenden Sie Unterlegscheiben

zwischen Ventilkörper und Montage-

fläche.

Dadurch vermeiden Sie Querkräfte

am Ventilkopf.

•Schieben Sie in beide Bohrungen ®

Schrauben zur Befestigung

•Befestigen Sie das MPYE an der

vorgesehenen Stelle.

For visual inspection of the valve slide:

•Do not obstruct the inspection win-

dow ¯.

In cases where the MPYE is mounted

on moving components (e.g. DGP):

•Ensure that the MPYE is always

moved perpendicular to the direction

of acceleration (installation perpen-

dicular to the direction of accelera-

tion of the moving component).

This prevents acceleration forces

from damaging the valve slide.

For mounting the MPYE-5-1/8-... and

the MPYE-5-M5-...:

•Use washers between the valve

body and the mounting surface.

You will then avoid lateral forces on

the valve head.

•Fit screws into both holes ®to

mount the valve.

•Fasten the MPYE in the intended po-

sition.

1409g D/GB 7

pneumatisch

•Stellen Sie sicher, daß sich keine

Schmutzpartikel oder Fremdkörper in

den Anschlüssen des Ventils und

den Schlauchleitungen befinden.

•Verwenden Sie in den Entlüftungs-

anschlüssen nur Schalldämpfer oder

Schlauchanschlüsse. Beim Ver-

schließen (z.B. mit Blindstopfen) ist

die Funktionssicherheit beeinträchtigt.

•Vermeiden Sie die Abdichtung der

Verschraubungen mit Dichtband aus

PTFE.

Sonst können bei der Montage PTFE-

Stücke in das Ventil gelangen und

zum Blockieren des Ventilschiebers

führen.

Zu hoher Restölgehalt in der Druckluft

verkürzt die Lebensdauer des Ventils.

•Bei Verwendung von Bioölen (Öle,

die auf der Basissynthetischer Ester

oder nativer Ester aufgebaut sind

z.B. Rapsölmethylester) darf der

Restölgehalt von maximal 0,1 mg/m3

nicht überschritten werden. (-> ISO

8573-1:2010 [7:4:2]).

Pneumatic

•Ensure that no dirt particles or

foreign matter enter the valve ports

or tubing.

•Fit only silencers or tubing fittings to

the exhaust ports. If the ports are

sealed (e.g. with plugs), this will im-

pair reliable operation.

•Avoid using PTFE tape to seal the fit-

tings.

Otherwise particles of PTFE may

enter the valve during assembly and

cause the valve slide to seize up.

Too much residual oil content in the

compressed air will reduce the service

life of the valve.

•When using bio-oils (oils that are

based on synthetic ester or native

ester, e.g. rapeseed oil methyl

ester), the maximum residual oil con-

tent of 0.1 mg/m3should not be ex-

ceeded (-> ISO 8573-1:2010 [7:4:2]).

•Verwenden Sie Festo "Quickstar-

verschraubungen" beim Ver-

schlauchen des MPYE nur einmal.

Bei mehrmaligem Einsatz können

Teile der beanspruchten PTFE-Be-

schichtung in die Ventilanschlüsse

gelangen und die Ventilfunktion be-

einträchtigen.

•Verschlauchen Sie den Druckluft-

anschluss ¬und die Arbeitsluft-

anschlüsse .

•Drehen Sie einen Schalldämpfer

(siehe Zubehör) in die Entlüftungs-

anschlüsse «.

elektrisch

•Lesen Sie das Typenschild ab.

Folgende Ventilvarianten werden

darauf unterschieden:

•If Festo "Quick Star fittings" are

used to connect up the MPYE, use

them once only.

If they are re-used, particles of PTFE

coating may enter the valve ports

and impair the valve function.

•Connect up tubing to the supply port

¬and working ports .

•Screw silencers (see "Accessories")

into the exhaust ports «.
