DEVICE BUTTONS

AUTOMATIC SWITCHING

How to Connect the 4x1 Gefen TV Switcher

Connect the supplied cables from the HDTV HDMI sources into the Gefen1. TV Switcher inputs.

Connect the cable from your display (monitor or projector) into the HDMI out2. of the Gefen TV Switcher.

Plug the 5VDC power supply into the Gefen TV Switcher.3.

How to Control the Gefen TV Switcher

Use either the GTV4-IR remote control to toggle between sources or press the

input button on the rear of the unit.

EQ Button

By pressing the EQ button you allow the switcher to do a pre-emphasis on the

signal. This will help the video signal when long distances or low quality cable is

used.

Input Select Button

Pressing this button will toggle between the inputs in succession.

Automatic switching is done very easily. Whenever a connected device is

powered on, the 4x1 Gefen TV Switcher will switch to that input. Once that

device is powered down, the switcher will revert back to the previous input that

was active. The remote and input select button will always allow you to switch

manually. The remote will switch discretely to any input, while the input select

button will allow you to toggle between inputs.

GTV4-IR INSTALLATION

Remove battery cover from the back of the GTV4-IR remote.1.

Verify that dip switches 1 & 2 are in the down (OFF) position.2.

Insert the battery, hold the battery so that you can see the positive side3. facing up. The side that is not marked must be facing down.

Test the GTV4-IR remote by pressing ONLY one button at a time. The4. indicator

light on the remote will flash once each time you press a button. WARNING:5. Do not press multiple buttons simultaneously and do NOT press buttons

rapidly.

These actions will cause the remote to reset and steps 1-4 will have to be6. repeated.

Note: The GTV4-IR ships with two batteries. Only one battery is needed for

operation, the other is complimentary.

IR CODE CONFIGURATION

How to Resolve IR Code Conflicts

If you are experiencing IR conflicts, you can change the IR Code of the remote

and switcher. You can do so by holding the EQ button down for 5 seconds and

wait for the LED's to flash in front of the unit. The LED's will flash the current IR

channel. (One flash for channel 1, two flashes for channel 2, etc.) Press the Input

button to select which IR Code channel you wish to use. Press the EQ button to

finish. Using the guide below, make sure that the unit and remote are both set

to the same channel. If this does not work, please call Gefen's tech support for
