other foreign material can damage the transceiver.

3. VOLUME ON/OFF :

allows to turn transceiver on or off and to adjust volume

level.

CHANNEL SELECTOR

PROGRAMMABLE BUTTON (RED) : Pressing this button for longer than

seconds locks the keypad, a key symbol is displayed. To unlock, press again for more

than 2 seconds.

BASIC SETTINGS

SETTING THE DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS

The display can be lit in three different ways :

- Always OFF

- On for 5 seconds when a button is pressed.

- Always ON.

NOTE: Always choose position 2 (light on for 5 sec) to save the battery.

SETTING OF SQUELCH AND MINIMUM VOLUME LEVEL

This function allows to :

- Set the minimum volume level when the Volume knob is turned at its lowest

position. For example, in a noisy environment, you might need to increase the

minimum volume level.

- Set the background noise cut off level (Squelch).

Note : To avoid interferences, step away from electrical equipment like engines, computers

or other sources of parasites while doing these settings.

3 SELECT ONE CHANNEL WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A CTCSS

PROGRAMMED ON IT

4 SETTING THE BACKGROUND NOISE CUT OFF LEVEL (SQUELCH)

PRESS

AND SIMULTANEOUSLY, TURN THE

VOLUME KNOB FROM CLOCKWISE UNTIL THE

BACKGROUND NOISE STARTS. RETURN

COUNTERCLOCKWISE TO WHEN THE NOISE JUST STOPS

(CUT OFF LEVEL).

5 SETTING THE MINIMUM VOLUME LEVEL PRESS

AND SIMULTANEOUSLY, TURN THE VOLUME KNOB TO

THE REQUIRED LEVEL

6 IF YOU HAVE MODIFIED THE MINIMUM VOLUME LEVEL, YOU

WILL HAVE TO SET THE SQUELCH LEVEL AGAIN

7 TURN TRANSCEIVER OFF

ACTIVATING BEEPS

This setting allows :

- To enable or disable the BEEPS when buttons on the transceiver are pressed.

- To link the sound level of the BEEPS to the general volume setting of the

transceiver.

- The CTCSS code in reception per channel

- The CTCSS code in transmission per channel

- Priority A and B channels

- The output power per channel
