
Install the Hardware
Use the Mid-Mount kit to install the appliance into most
two- and four-post rack systems.
Required tool:
- Philips screwdriver
Kit contains:
- Front brackets - two (2)
- Back brackets - two (2)
- L brackets - two (2)
- Fastener pack - one (1) (Figure 1)
Mounting in a Four-Post Rack System
Remove bezel handles
1. Remove two screws (Figure 2) from each bezel handle.
2. Set the handles and screws aside to be reattached later.
Attach brackets to appliance
1. Place a front bracket along one side of the appliance in the
front-mount position (Figure 3, A).
2. Align the holes (3, B) in the bracket with the tabs (3, C) on the
appliance, and then place the bracket against the appliance.
3. Slide the bracket as far as it goes toward the front of the
appliance.
4. Fasten the bracket to the appliance using the screw (3,D).
5. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 to attach a front bracket to the
opposite side of the appliance.
Attach bracket disks to appliance
1. Place a bracket disk at the side and toward the back of the
appliance (see Figure 4, A).
2. Install the screw (4, B) as indicated, and then tighten.
3. Repeat Steps 1 through 2 to attach a bracket disk to the
opposite side of the appliance.
Attach brackets to back posts
1. Attach a nut bar (Figure 5, B) on the inside of the two back rack
posts using the screws (5, A).
Note: Do not completely tighten the screws. Leave them
loose enough to insert the brackets as described in Step 2.
2. Insert the slotted foot of a back bracket (5, C) between each nut bar
and post.
3. Align the face of the bracket foot with the edge of the rack post,
and then firmly tighten the screws.
4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 to attach the other bracket.
Install appliance in rack
WARNING:
You may need to use a lifting device or have another person
assist you in lifting and attaching the appliance into the rack.
1. With the appliance facing you, lift the appliance, and then position the
bracket disks (Figure 6, A) so they fit in the rear brackets (Figure 6, B).
2. Slide the appliance toward the back of the rack, until the front sides
of the front brackets touch the front posts.
3. Attach the front brackets (Figure 7, A) to the front posts (7, B),
using two screws (7, C) and one nut bar (7, D) per side.
Install platform handles
Note: The handles are required to hold the bezel on. If you will
not be installing on a bezel, you do not need to install the handles.
1.Slide a handle (Figure 8, A) between the platform and the
platform bracket.
2. Align the hole in the handle with the unused hole in the platform
bracket.
3. Install a spacer (8, B) between the handle and the platform bracket.
4. Install and tighten screw (8, C) to ensure the handle.
5. In the same manner, attach the other handle to the opposite side.
