The safety gap between the rangehood and the hob below must comply with

the recommendations of the hob manufacturer. In case of no instructions, a

minimum distance of 650mm (or other minimum distance as may be specified

by AS ZS 5601 and interpreted by a certified installer) should apply.

Use an electrical connector with earth that conforms to local standards.

Check that the voltage in your area is correct before plugging in.

Multiple plugs and extension cables must not be used. Electrical overload is

dangerous and may cause a fire.

Ensure that the power cord is free from any heat source or sharp objects.

The appliance should be switched off and the electrical supply disconnected

before any cleaning or maintenance work is carried out.

The electrical connection of this appliance must be connected to earth.

--- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service

agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

----Cleaning and user maintenance should not be made by children without supervision.

Safe disposal of appliances and packaging

Notes:

•Attach the rangehood to the kitchen unit.

•The safety gap between the rangehood and the hob below must comply with the

recommendations of the hob manufacturer. In case of no instructions, a minimum

distance of 650mm (or other minimum distance as may be specified by AS/NZS 5601

and interpreted by a certified installer) should apply.

•When the rangehood is operating at the same time as other non-electrical cooking

equipment, the outlet air pressure must not exceed 4 Pa.

•To achieve optimum performance the length of the outlet ducting should not exceed 4

meters, or include more than two 90 angles (elbows). Rigid smooth surface ducting is

recommended.

•The maximum recommended overall ducting path to the outside of the building (for

150mm diameter smooth-walled, rigid pipe only) is 10m, reduced by 2.5m for each 90’

bend in the ducting path.

•It is recommended that the rangehood in an apartment be either connected to a

dedicated ducting outlet on the external wall, or that it be installed in recirculating

mode, including the use of carbon filters, allowing the air to be returned to the kitchen

through the outlet pipe.

•If the cabinet into which the rangehood is installed is more than the total depth of the

rangehood the installer will need to fit an appropriately thick sealing batten to the wall

behind the rangehood, equal in width to the rangehood.

Instructions for use

Press the button shown in the diagram below, to control the functions of the rangehood.

To achieve better fume extraction, it is recommended the rangehood be switched on for

a few minutes (approx 3-5minutes) before starting to cook so that the air flow is stable

and continuous.

NOTE: Before making preparations for or commencing installation, the installer should refer

to the current online version of the User Manual, which is available on the Kleenmaid website

(see back cover for details).

•Before installation make sure that the household voltage is same as the voltage on the

rating label of the rangehood.

•The wall or ceiling on which the rangehood is installed must be flat and strong enough to

support the rangehood. The wall shall be non-combustible. The rangehood must not be

mounted on a wall made of flammable material such as wood.

•To prevent any fire, please discharge the exhaust gas outdoors.

•The air must not be discharged into a flue that is used for exhausting fumes from

appliances burning gas or other fuels.

•Do not unpack your rangehood if your kitchen is being renovated as building materials,

dust, paint, coatings, and their gases may corrode and tarnish the surface of the

rangehood. Please install the rangehood after cabinetry work and painting etc is complete.

•The rangehood shall be level, firm and steady after the installation.

Location and height for installation

•Install the rangehood in a dry place without direct sunlight.

•If the rangehood is installed within a cabinet, there must be enough space allowed to

easily install, disassemble and maintain the rangehood.

•The rangehood shall be installed as close to the external wall as possible to shorten the

distance between the outlet of the rangehood and the external wall.

•The rangehood shall be mounted above the stove in parallel and on the same axis.

•The safety gap between the rangehood and the hob below must comply with the

recommendations of the hob manufacturer. In case of no instructions, a minimum distance

of 650mm (or other minimum distance as may be specified by AS/NZS 5601 and

interpreted by a certified installer) should apply.

•The vertical separation distance shall not exceed 750mm so as not to adversely affect

the extraction efficiency. See diagram below.

Drill holes and install rangehood body

■Drill hole of 170mm diameter on the top of the cabinet. See diagram below.

■The top four ST4 self-tapping screws are screwed up into the bottom of the cabinet OR

■Fix the rangehood to the cabinet/wall behind it.

■Install a batten (mounting board) under the rangehood to cover the gap between the back of

rangehood and cabinet.

Ducted Mode - Installing the rigid smooth surface ducting (not supplied)

■Fix one end of the rigid duct pipe onto the outlet of the rangehood, and connect the other end

directly to the external wall hole. The connection should be firmly fixed and sealed.

■The non-return (butterfly) valves need to be installed when using the ducted mode. When

installing the duct pipe, ensure the non-return valves of the rangehood can be operated normally.

■Avoid too many bends of the duct pipe, and bending angle of less than 90 degrees as this will

affect the efficiency of the appliance. (See Notes page 8.)

■Do not connect the duct pipe of this rangehood with any pipe of smaller diameter as this may

affect the exhaust.

■Do not attach the ducting from this rangehood to a shared or public flue, unless the specific

nature and design of this attachment has been certified in accordance with all applicable local

building and safety regulations.

■The distance from the top of rangehood to the ceiling should be at least 300mm.

Recirculation Mode

Put the carbon filters onto both sides of the

blower motor (as shown above), then turn in a

clockwise direction to click into place. Caution:

1) The non return (butterfly) valves should be

removed when using recirculating mode.

2) The distance of the rangehood air outlet to the

top of the cabinet should be at least 200mm

3) With normal usage the carbon filter should be

replaced every 3 mths.

4) The cabinet door should have an air inlet louvre.
