von MONACOR. Dabei soll Ihnen diese Bedienungsan-

leitung helfen, alle Funktionsmöglichkeiten kennenzu-

lernen. Die Beachtung der Anleitung vermeidet außer-

dem Fehlbedienungen und schützt Sie und Ihr Gerät vor

eventuellen Schäden durch unsachgemäßen Gebrauch.

be able to get to know all functions of the unit. By follow-

ing these instructions false operations will be avoided,

and possible damage to yourself and your unit due to im-

recchio MONACOR. Le istruzioni per l’uso Vi possono

aiutare a conoscere tutte le possibili funzioni. E rispet-

tando quanto spiegato nelle istruzioni, evitate di commet-

tere degli errori, e così proteggete Voi stessi, ma anche

l’apparecchio, da eventuali rischi per uso improprio.

Wij wensen u veel plezier met uw nieuw toestel van

MONACOR. Met behulp van bijgaande gebruiksaanwij-

zing kunt u alle functiemogelijkheden leren kennen. Door

deze instructies op te volgen zal een slechte werking

vermeden worden, en zal een eventueel letsel aan uzelf

en schade aan uw toestel tengevolge van onzorgvuldig

gebruik worden voorkomen.

In the screen menu the button serves as cursor

button “Downwards”, by which the 10 menu items

of the main menu are selected or – in combina-

tion with the SET button (14) – by which the oper-

ating parameters can be selected and changed in

the menu items.

einem aufgerufenen Menüpunkt zum Zurück-

springen ins Hauptmenü bzw. Verlassen des

Bildschirm-Menüs vom Hauptmenü aus

die Taste erneut drücken.

In Kombination mit anderen Tasten dient die

Taste außerdem dazu, bestimmte Zweitfunktio-

nen dieser Tasten aufzurufen.

13 Die Taste ZOOM zum Schalten auf das Zoom-

Anzeigeformat bzw. Verlassen des Zoom-Anzei-

geformates

14 Die Taste SET/LIVE REC. für die „Live-Aufnah-

me“ (Aufnahme einer ausgewählten Kamera im

Vollbild-Format): Zum Starten der Live-Aufnah-

me erst Taste SET/LIVE REC. drücken, dann die

Nummerntaste (15) der jeweiligen Kamera; zum

Verlassen der Betriebsart Taste SET/LIVE REC.

erneut drücken.

Im Bildschirm-Menü dient die Taste – in Kombina-

tion mit den Cursor-Tasten (2) –(5) oder den Num-

merntasten (15) – zum Aufrufen der 10 Menü-

punkte des Hauptmenüs, zum Ändern der in den

Menüpunkten angewählten Betriebsparameter

und zur Bestätigung (Speicherung) der Änderung.

15 Nummerntasten 1–16; dienen bei Vollbildanzei-

ge zurAnwahl der entsprechenden Kamera, bzw.

dienen bei den Mehrfachbildanzeigen dazu, – in

Kombination mit der Taste SEL (12) – die ent-

sprechende Kamera einem Teilbild zuzuordnen

Im Bildschirm-Menü dienen die Tasten zur direk-

ten Anwahl der 10 Menüpunkte des Hauptmenüs

bzw. einiger Betriebsparameter sowie zum Durch-

führen bestimmter Einstellungen (wie z.B. Paß-

worteingabe)

Anschluß der Kameras

IN (16). Die Impedanzanpassung (75Ωoder

hochohmig) der Kamera-Eingänge erfolgt auto-

matisch in Abhängigkeit von einem hier abge-

nommenen Ausgangssignal.

21 BNC-Ausgangsbuchse VCR OUT für den An-

schluß eines Videorecorders zurAufzeichnung

22 BNC-Ausgangsbuchse SPOT für den Anschluß

eines Nebenmonitors (Spot-Monitors) zur Dar-

stellung einer Kamera im Vollbild-Format bzw.

mehrerer Kameras in der Sequenzschaltung, un-

abhängig von der auf dem Hauptmonitor gewähl-

ten Ansicht

23 SUB-D-Buchse ALARM, stellt verschiedene Ein-

undAusgänge zurAlarmauswertung sowie einen

Steuereingang für die Synchronisation zwischen

Multiplexer und Videorecorder zur Verfügung

(zur Kontaktbelegung siehe Kap. 10)

24 POWER-Buchse zum Anschluß des mitgeliefer-

ten Netzgerätes (12V /1A);

mittlerer Kontakt = Pluspol

2 Hinweise für den sicheren

Gebrauch

Der Multiplexer und das Steckernetzgerät entspre-

chen der EMV-Richtlinie 89/336/EWG für elektro-

magnetische Verträglichkeit. Das Steckernetzgerät

entspricht zusätzlich der Niederspannungsrichtlinie

73/23/EWG.

Warnung: Dieser Multiplexer entspricht den Grenz-

werten der Klasse A. Der Betrieb des Gerätes in

Wohngebieten kann zu Störungen des Rundfunk-

und Fernsehempfangs führen. Ergreifen Sie in die-

sem Fall geeignete Maßnahmen.

Das Steckernetzgerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher

Netzspannung (230V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie

deshalb niemals selbst Eingriffe im Netzgerät vor.

Durch unsachgemäßes Vorgehen besteht die Ge-

fahr eines elektrischen Schlages. Außerdem er-

lischt beim Öffnen des Netzgerätes oder des Mul-

tiplexers jeglicher Garantieanspruch.

Beachten Sie auch unbedingt folgende Punkte:

●Der Multiplexer und das Steckernetzgerät sind nur

zur Verwendung im Innenbereich geeignet. Schüt-

zen Sie sie vor Feuchtigkeit und Hitze (zulässiger

Einsatztemperaturbereich 0–35°C).

●Die im Multiplexer entstehende Wärme muß durch

Luftzirkulation abgegeben werden. Darum dürfen

die Lüftungsschlitze des Gehäuses nicht mit ir-

gendwelchen Gegenständen abgedeckt werden.

●Stecken Sie nichts durch die Lüftungsschlitze!

Dies kann zu einem Defekt des Gerätes führen.

SEL button (12), then the MENU button] and if

a menu item is called, for jumping back to the

main menu or leaving the screen menu from

the main menu.

2 Safety Notes

The multiplexer and the plug-in power supply unit

correspond to the directive 89/336/EEC for electro-

magnetic compatibility. In addition, the plug-in power

supply unit corresponds to the low voltage directive

73/23/EEC.

Warning: This multiplexer corresponds to the limit

values of class A. The operation of the unit in resi-

dential areas can cause interferences of the radio

and TV reception. In this case please take appro-

priate measures.

The power supply unit uses lethal mains voltage

(230V~). In order to prevent a shock hazard, do

not open it. Leave servicing to authorized, skilled

personnel only. Furthermore, any guarantee claim

expires if the multiplexer or the plug-in power

supply unit has been opened.

It is necessary to observe in any case the following

items:

●The multiplexer and the plug-in power supply unit

are suitable for indoor use only. Protect them

against humidity and heat (admissible ambient

temperature range 0–35°C).

●The heat being generated in the multiplexer has to

be carried off via air circulation. Therefore, the

vents of the housing must not be covered with any

objects.

●Do not insert anything into the vents! This can

lead to a defect of the unit.

●Do not set the multiplexer into operation, or imme-

diately disconnect the power supply unit from the

mains socket if:

1. there is visible damage to the plug-in power

supply unit or multiplexer,

●Nehmen Sie den Multiplexer nicht in Betrieb bzw.

elle Schäden keine Haftung übernommen werden.

●Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes

weiches Tuch, niemals Chemikalien oder Wasser.

●Sollen die Geräte endgültig aus dem Betrieb ge-

nommen werden, übergeben Sie sie zur Entsor-

gung einem örtlichen Recyclingbetrieb.

3 Anwendungsmöglichkeiten

Der S/W-Video-Multiplexer TVMP-1600 ist für den

Einsatz in Überwachungs- und Alarmanlagen kon-

zipiert. Das Gerät ermöglicht bei Mehrkamera-Sy-

stemen, die verschiedenen Bilder der angeschlos-

senen Kameras im Zeit-Multiplex-Betrieb auf nur

einem Videorecorder aufzuzeichnen, d.h. alle Ka-

merabilder werden als Einzelbilder abwechselnd mit

zugefügter Codierung auf den Ausgang zum Video-

recorder (VCR OUT) geschaltet. Dabei läßt sich die

Bildrate durch ein einstellbares Zeitschema oder

durch ein von vielen Langzeit-Videorecordern bereit-

gestelltes Synchronisationssignal steuern. Bei der

Wiedergabe wird das Signalgemisch der Aufzeich-

nung vom Multiplexer wieder decodiert. Somit ist es

möglich, jedes einzelne aufgezeichnete Kamerabild

anzuwählen und auf dem Monitor darzustellen. Es

lassen sich bis zu 16 Kameras anschließen.

Neben der Videoaufzeichnung ist gleichzeitig ei-

ne Live-Überwachung möglich. Dazu lassen sich die

Kamerabilder auf verschiedenste Weise auf dem

Hauptmonitor darstellen [Vollbild, Bild im Bild, Mehr-

fachbilder (2–16), automatische Bildweiterschal-

tung]. Auf einem Nebenmonitor (Spot-Monitor) kann

gleichzeitig eine beliebige Kamera im Vollbild-For-

mat oder mehrere Kameras mit automatischer Wei-

terschaltung betrachtet werden.

Der TVMP-1600 verfügt über drei unterschiedliche

Alarmfunktionen:

–Alarmauslösung über externe Alarmmelder (wahl-

weise mit NO- oder NC-Kontakt) für jeden der 16

Kameraeingänge

–Alarmauslösung über einen integrierten Bewe-

gungsmelder („Activity Detection“), für jeden der

16 Kameraeingänge individuell einstellbar

–Alarmauslösung bei Ausfall des Videosignals

(z.B. bei Ausfall einer Kamera oder Unterbre-

chung der Kameraleitungen)

Als Alarmausgang verfügt der Multiplexer über ein

potentialfreies Alarm-Relais mit NO/NC-Kontakt,

das im Alarmfall den angeschlossenen Videorecor-

der oder weitere Alarmgeber aktivieren kann. Die

Alarmeinstellungen (z.B. Ein-/Ausschalten des aku-

stischen Signalgebers, Einstellen der Alarmdauer,

Auswählen des Anzeigeformats für den Alarmfall)

lassen sich separat für jede der drei Alarmfunktio-

nen festlegen. Jede Alarmfunktion kann auch, falls

erwünscht, deaktiviert werden.

4 Gerät aufstellen

Das Gerät kann als freistehendes Tischgerät aufge-

stellt oder in ein Rack (482mm/19") eingebaut wer-

den. Bei Rackeinbau die beiliegenden Montagewin-

kel anschrauben (siehe Abb. 3). Im Rack wird eine

Höheneinheit (= 44,45mm) benötigt.

5 Gerät anschließen

5.1 Kameras

Bis zu 16 Kameras können an die Eingangsbuchsen

CAM1–CAM16 IN (16) angeschlossen werden.

Soll ein Kamerabild noch auf einer weiteren Video-

anlage ausgewertet werden, kann dieses am darun-

ter gelegenen Durchschleifausgang CAM1–CAM16

OUT (20) abgenommen und weitergeleitet werden.

Die Impedanzanpassung erfolgt dabei automatisch.

5.2 Monitore

Den Hauptmonitor an die Buchse MAIN (18) an-

schließen. Wird ein weiterer Monitor zur gleichzeiti-

gen Vollbildansicht einzelner Kameras benötigt, die-

sen an die Buchse SPOT (22) anschließen.

5.3 Videorecorder

Zur Aufzeichnung der Kamerabilder im Zeit-Multi-

plex-Verfahren den Video-Eingang des Videorecor-

ders mit der Buchse VCR OUT (21) verbinden. Für

die Wiedergabe der Aufzeichnung den Video-Aus-

gang des Videorecorders mit der Buchse VCR IN

(17) verbinden.

Um die Kamera-Umschaltung des Multiplexers

mit den Aufnahmeintervallen des Videorecorders zu

synchronisieren, kann das Gerät über eine Steuer-

leitung mit dem Recorder verbunden werden. Dazu

den Synchronisationsausgang des Videorecorders

(mögliche Beschriftung: CAMERA SWITCH OUT,

CLOCK OUT o.ä.) mit dem Synchronisationsein-

gang des TVMP-1600 [Pin 20 der Buchse ALARM

(23), siehe Kap. 10] verbinden. Siehe auch Kap. 8.5

„Menüpunkt 4: Aufzeichnung einrichten“.

Hinweis: Die Synchronisation von Multiplexer und

Videorecorder über eine Steuerleitung ist

nicht zwingend erforderlich. Der Multiple-

xer kann auch ausschließlich über ent-

sprechende Einstellungen im Bildschirm-

Menü (Kap. 8.5) an den Aufnahmemodus

des Recorders angepaßt werden.

5.4 Alarmverbindungen

Sämtliche Alarmanschlüsse werden über die 25po-

lige SUB-D-Buchse ALARM (23) durchgeführt. Zur

Kontaktbelegung der Buchse siehe Kap. 10.

used for purposes other than originally intended, if

they are not connected or operated correctly or

not repaired by authorized, skilled personnel,

there is no liability for possible damage.

●For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth. Do not use

any chemicals or water.

●If the units are to be put out of operation defini-

tively, they must be disposed of in a local recycling

plant.

3 Applications

The b/w multiplexer TVMP-1600 has been designed

for the use in monitoring and alarm systems. For

multi-camera systems the unit allows to record the

different pictures of the connected cameras in the

time-multiplex technique on only one video recorder,

i.e. all camera pictures are alternately switched as

individual pictures with added coding to the output

for the video recorder (VCR OUT). The picture rate

can be controlled by an adjustable time scheme or

by a synchronization signal provided by many time-

lapse video recorders. When reproducing, the signal

mixture of the recording is decoded again by the

multiplexer. Thus, it is possible to select each indi-

vidual recorded camera picture and to display it on

the monitor. It is possible to connect up to 16 cam-

eras.

In addition to the video recording, live monitoring

is possible at the same time. For this the camera pic-

tures can be displayed on the main monitor in most

different ways [full screen picture, picture in the pic-

ture, multiple pictures (2–16), automatic sequential

switching of pictures].At the same time, on an auxil-

iary monitor (spot monitor) any desired camera can

be displayed in the full screen format or several

cameras with automatic sequential switching.

The TVMP-1600 has three different alarm functions:

– alarm triggering via external alarm sensors (alter-

natively with NO or NC contact) for each of the 16

camera inputs

– alarm triggering via an integrated motion detector

("activity detection") which can be adjusted indivi-

dually for each of the 16 camera inputs

– alarm triggering in case of video signal loss (e.g.

failure of a camera or interruption of the camera

lines)

As alarm output the multiplexer has a floating alarm

relay with NO/NC contact which can activate the

connected video recorder or further alarm devices in

case of alarm. The alarm settings (e.g. switching the

buzzer on and off, setting the alarm duration, select-

ing the display format in case of alarm) can separ-

ately be defined for each of the three alarm func-

tions. Each alarm function can also be deactivated,

if desired.

4 Setting up the Unit

The unit can be placed as table top unit or be instal-

led into a rack (482mm/19"). For rack installation

screw on the supplied mounting brackets (see fig. 3).

In the rack one rack space (= 44.45mm) is required.

5 Connecting the Unit

5.1 Cameras

Up to 16 cameras can be connected to the input

jacks CAM1 to CAM16 IN (16).

For evaluating a camera picture on a further video

system, it can be picked up at the parallel output

CAM1– CAM16 (20) situated below and be passed

on. The impedance is automatically matched.

5.2 Monitors

Connect the main monitor to the MAIN jack (18). If a

further monitor is required for simultaneous full

sreen display of individual cameras, connect it to the

SPOT jack (22).

5.3 Video recorder

For recording the camera pictures in the time-multi-

plex technique, connect the video input of the video

recorder to the jack VCR OUT (21). For reproducing

the recording connect the video output of the video

recorder to the jack VCR IN (17).

To synchronize the camera switching of the multi-

plexer with the recording intervals of the video re-

corder, the unit can be connected to the recorder via

a control line. For this purpose connect the syn-

chronization output of the video recorder (possible

lettering: CAMERA SWITCH OUT, CLOCK OUT, or

similar lettering) to the synchronization input of the

TVMP-1600 [pin 20 of the ALARM jack (23), see

chapter 10]. Also see chapter 8.5 “Menu item 4: Re-

cording Setup”.

Note: The synchronization of the multiplexer and

video recorder via a control line is not com-

pulsory. The multiplexer can also be matched

exclusively via corresponding settings in the

screen menu (chapter 8.5) to the recording

mode of the recorder.

5.4 Alarm connections

All alarm connections are made via the 25-pole

SUB D jackALARM (23). For the pin configuration of

the jack see chapter 10.

1) An alarm input is assigned to each camera input.

Connect external alarm sensors, like e.g. motion

detectors, with NO or NC contact or TTL/CMOS

output to the alarm inputs of the jack according to

the table of pin configuration in chapter 10.

2) As floating alarm output a relay with switching

contact is provided. The common contact is avail-

able at pin 23, the opening contact (NC) at pin 24,

the closing contact (NO) at pin 25. The relay allows

the switching of ohmic loads at max. 24V /1A.

The alarm output can be connected e.g. to the

alarm input of a video recorder so that the recorder

liegt der gemeinsame Kontakt (common), an Pin

24 liegt der Öffnungskontakt (NC), an Pin 25 der

Schließkontakt (NO). Das Relais erlaubt das

Schalten von ohmschen Lasten bei max. 24V /

1A. Hier kann z.B. der Alarmeingang eines Vi-

deorecorders angeschlossen werden, damit die-

ser im Alarmfall von Langzeitaufnahme auf Echt-

zeitaufnahme umschalten kann.

3) Über einen Alarmhalte-Eingang (Pin 22) wird für

die Dauer eines angelegten positiven Impulses

der aktuelle Alarmzustand gehalten.

5.5 Fernbedienung

Der TVMP-1600 bietet drei Möglichkeiten zur Fern-

bedienung: seriell per RS-232-Übertragungsstan-

dard, seriell per RS-485-Übertragungsstandard oder

über eine optional erhältliche Bedieneinheit. DerAn-

schluß erfolgt in allen Fällen über die 25polige SUB-

D-Buchse REMOTE (19). Zur Kontaktbelegung der

Buchse siehe Kap. 10.

Über die RS-232- und RS-485-Schnittstellen ist

es möglich, den TVMP-1600 von einem Computer

oder Terminal per ASCII-Zeichen in der gleichen Art

fernzusteuern, als ob am Gerät Tasten gedrückt

würden. Dabei dient der TVMP-1600 nur als Daten-

empfänger, kann also keine Daten, z.B. als Rück-

meldungen, senden.

Achtung: Die Schnittstellen RS-232 und RS-485

sollten nicht gleichzeitig angeschlossen

werden!

1) Bei Verwendung der RS-232-Schnittstelle Pin 3

(Dateneingang) und Pin 7 (Masse) anschließen.

2) Bei Verwendung der RS-485-Schnittstelle Pin 16

(Dateneingang A), Pin 18 (Dateneingang B) und

Pin 7 (Masse) anschließen. Pin 17 und Pin 18

müssen gebrückt werden. Bei der Verbindung

von mehr als zwei Multiplexern über diese

Schnittstelle nur an einem Multiplexer Pin 17 und

18 brücken.

Hinweis: Die Verwendung verdrillter Leitungen ver-

ringert Störeinstreuungen.

5.6 Stromversorgung

Nach dem Anschluß aller übrigen Geräte das beilie-

gende Steckernetzgerät an die POWER-Buchse

DC 12V (24) anschließen und mit einer Netzsteck-

dose (230V~/50Hz) verbinden.

6 Bedienung

Nach dem Anschließen der Versorgungsspannung

leuchten für ca. 2s alle LEDs über den Bedientasten

auf und ein kurzer Signalton ist zu hören. Auf dem

Hauptmonitor wird folgender Text eingeblendet:

Anschließend wird auf dem Hauptmonitor in die

4 x 4-Darstellung mit allen 16 Kamerabildern umge-

schaltet (siehe Kap. 6.2.8 „Mehrfachbild 4 x 4“).

Bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme sind die vom

Hersteller vorprogrammierten Grundeinstellungen

wirksam (siehe Kap. 8.12 „Übersicht der Hersteller-

Voreinstellungen“). Zum Ändern der Geräteinstel-

lungen lesen Sie bitte Kap. 8.

6.1 Betriebsarten

6.1.1 Live-Überwachung

Die Betriebsart Live-Überwachung ist voreingestellt,

sobald die Spannungsversorgung hergestellt wird.

Die am TVMP-1600 angeschlossenen Kameras kön-

nen in verschiedenen Anzeigeformaten und in belie-

biger Reihenfolge auf dem Hauptmonitor dargestellt

werden (siehe Kap. 6.2 „Anzeigeformate wählen”).

Die LED über der Taste (10) leuchtet in dieser Be-

triebsart nicht.

Die Kamera-Eingänge werden alle 0,02s erfaßt.

Die tatsächliche Bildauffrischungsrate der auf dem

Monitor dargestellten Kamerabilder ist jedoch davon

abhängig, wie viele Kameras an dem TVMP-1600

angeschlossen sind bzw. wie vielen Teilbildern diese

zugeordnet sind.

Hinweis: Die Bedienung des Geräts in der Betriebs-

art Live-Überwachung hat keinen Einfluß

auf die Videoaufzeichnung. Das Signal am

Anschluß VCR OUT (21) ist unabhängig

von der gewählten Monitordarstellung.

6.1.2 Videorecorder-Wiedergabe

Im Videorecorder-Wiedergabebetrieb werden die

Bilder des Videorecorders an der Buchse VCR IN

(17) auf dem Bildschirm gezeigt. Es können sowohl

Bilder wiedergegeben werden, die gerade vom Vi-

deorecorder über die Buchse VCR OUT (21) aufge-

zeichnet werden als auch die komplette Aufzeich-

nung, nachdem die Aufnahme beendet wurde.

Es lassen sich nur Aufzeichnungen wiedergeben,

die im Zeit-Multiplex-Verfahren über die Buchse VCR

OUT durchgeführt wurden. Liegt am Eingang VCR IN

kein gültiges Multiplex-Signal an, so wird auf dem Mo-

nitor „WRONG FORMAT“ angezeigt, liegt überhaupt

kein Videosignal an, so erscheint „*NO VCR*“.

Hinweis: Die Bedienung des Geräts in dieser Be-

triebsart hat keinen Einfluß auf die Video-

aufzeichnung, so daß z.B. auf einem Vi-

deorecorder über VCR OUT die aktuellen

Kamerasignale aufgenommen werden kön-

nen, während gleichzeitig von einem ande-

ren Videorecorder über VCR IN ältere Auf-

zeichnungen wiedergegeben werden.

A Normale Wiedergabe (Wiedergabe der deco-

dierten Bilder)

Zum Umschalten auf normale Wiedergabe die Ta-

ste (10) drücken. Die LED über der Taste leuchtet.

Es können wie in der Betriebsart Live-Überwachung

verschiedene Anzeigeformate gewählt werden (sie-

he Kap. 6.2 „Anzeigeformate wählen“). Kameratitel,

can switch from timelapse recording to real time

recording in case of alarm.

3) Via an alarm hold input (pin 22) the present alarm

status is held for the duration of an applied posi-

tive pulse.

5.5 Remote control

The TVMP-1600 offers three interfaces for the re-

mote control: serially per RS-232 transmission stand-

ard, serially per RS-485 transmission standard, or via

an operating unit available at option. The connection

is made in all cases via the 25-pole SUB D jack RE-

MOTE (19). For the pin configuration of the jack see

chapter 10.

Via the RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces it is pos-

sible to remote-control the TVMP-1600 by a com-

puter or terminal per ASCII characters in the same

way as if buttons would be pressed on the unit. The

TVMP-1600 only serves as data receiver but cannot

send data, e.g. as return messages.

Attention:The interfaces RS-232 and RS-485 should

not be connected at the same time!

1) When using the RS-232 interface, connect pin 3

(data input) and pin 7 (ground).

2) When using the RS-485 interface, connect pin 16

(data input A), pin 18 (data input B), and pin 7

(ground). Pin 17 and pin 18 must be connected

with a jumper. If more than two multiplexers are

connected via this interface, connect pin 17 and

pin 18 by a jumper on one multiplexer only.

Note: If drilled lines are used, interferences are re-

duced.

5.6 Power supply

After connection of all other units, connect the

supplied plug-in power supply to the POWER jack

DC 12V (24) and to a mains socket (230V~/50Hz).

6 Operation

After connecting the supply voltage all LEDs above

the operating buttons light up for approx. 2s and a

short signal sound can be heard. On the main moni-

tor the following text is inserted:

Then the display on the main monitor is switched to

the 4 x 4 presentation with all 16 camera pictures

(see chapter 6.2.8 “Multiple picture 4 x 4”).

When setting into operation for the first time, the

pre-programmed basic settings by the manufacturer

are effective (see chapter 8.12 “Overview of the pre-

settings by the manufacturer”). To change the set-

tings of the unit, please refer to chapter 8.

6.1 Operating modes

6.1.1 Live monitoring

The operating mode of live monitoring is preset as

soon as the voltage supply is provided. The cam-

eras connected to the TVMP-1600 can be shown on

the main monitor in different display formats and in

any desired order (see chapter 6.2 “Selecting dis-

play formats”). The LED above the button (10)

does not light in this operating mode.

The camera inputs are picked up every 0.02s.

The real picture refreshing rate of the camera pic-

tures presented on the monitor, however, depends

on the number of cameras being connected to the

TVMP-1600 or on the number of partial pictures to

which they are assigned.

Note: The operation of the unit in the operating

mode of live monitoring does not influence the

video recording. The signal at the connection

VCR OUT (21) is independent of the monitor

display selected.

6.1.2 Video recorder reproduction

In the video recorder reproduction mode the pictures

of the video recorder at the jack VCR IN (17) are dis-

played on the screen. Both the pictures can be dis-

played which are just being recorded by the video

recorder via the jack VCR OUT (21) and the entire

recording after the end of the recording.

Only recordings can be reproduced which have

been made in the time-multiplex technique via the

jack VCR OUT. If no valid multiplex signal is present

at the input VCR IN, “WRONG FORMAT” is dis-

played on the monitor, if there is no video signal at

all, “*NO VCR*” is displayed.

Note: The operation of the unit in this operating

mode does not influence the video recording

so that e.g. the present camera signals can

be recorded on a video recorder via VCR

OUT while at the same time previous record-

ings are reproduced by another video re-

corder via VCR IN.

A Standard reproduction (reproduction of the de-

coded pictures)

To switch to standard reproduction, press the but-

ton (10). The LED above the button lights up. Dif-

time, and alarm status are recorded with the camera

pictures and are displayed during reproduction.

To return to the operating mode of live monitoring,

press the button once again.

B Preview (reproduction of the pictures in the orig-

inal recording format)

When selecting this function, the camera pictures

which have been recorded via jack VCR OUT (21) in

the time-multiplex technique are reproduced in the

original recording format, i.e. as coded individual

picture sequences.

First press the SEL button (12) and then the but-

ton (10). Then the LED above the button starts to

blink. On the monitor, the coded multiplex video sig-

nal arriving at VCR IN (17) is displayed. In this oper-

ating mode it is not possible to select individual cam-

era pictures. Only the freeze button (9) allows to

freeze individual pictures for more exact viewing.

To return to the operating mode of live monitor-

ing, press the button once again.

B Vorschau (Wiedergabe der Bilder im Original-

Aufzeichnungsformat)

Bei Wahl dieser Funktion werden die Kamerabilder,

die über die Buchse VCR OUT (21) im Zeit-Multi-

plex-Verfahren aufgenommen wurden, im Original-

Aufzeichnungsformat, d.h. als codierte Einzelbild-

sequenzen, wiedergegeben.

Zuerst die SEL-Taste (12) und anschließend die

Taste (10) drücken. Die LED über der Taste fängt

daraufhin an zu blinken. Auf dem Monitor wird das

am VCR IN (17) ankommende Signal, das codierte

Multiplex-Videosignal, dargestellt. Einzelne Kame-

rabilder lassen sich in dieser Betriebsart nicht ge-

zielt anwählen. Lediglich die Freeze-Taste (9) er-

laubt das Einfrieren einzelner Bilder zur genaueren

Betrachtung.

Zur Rückkehr in die Betriebsart Live-Überwa-

chung nochmals die Taste drücken.

6.1.3 Live-Aufnahme (Aufnahme einer ausge-

wählten Kamera im Vollbild-Format)

Diese Betriebsart dient dazu, die Aufnahme im Zeit-

Multiplex-Verfahren abzubrechen und stattdessen

nur das Bild eines Kamerakanals mit dem Videore-

corder aufzuzeichnen.

Zum Schalten in diese Betriebsart die LIVE-

REC.-Taste (14) drücken. Die LED neben der Taste

leuchtet. Anschließend über die entsprechende

Nummerntaste (15) die aufzunehmende Kamera

wählen. Die Kamera muß im Einstellungsmenü (sie-

he Kap. 8.6 „Menüpunkt 5: Kameras aufzeichnen“)

für die Aufnahme freigegeben sein („AN“) und tat-

sächlich ein Videosignal liefern, sonst kommt es

zum Abbruch der Live-Aufnahme-Funktion. Wurde

eine gültige Kameranummer gewählt, blinkt die LED

neben der LIVE REC.-Taste und alle 20s ertönt ein

kurzer Signalton, wenn diese Funktion im Einstel-

lungsmenü aktiviert wurde. (Näheres zu den Einstel-

lungen im Kap. 8.6.)

Zur Beendigung der Live-Aufnahme und zur Rück-

kehr zur Video-Multiplex-Aufzeichnung nochmals

die LIVE REC.-Taste drücken.

6.2 Anzeigeformate wählen

Die Einstellungen der einzelnen Anzeigeformate

werden für die Betriebsarten Live-Überwachung und

Videorecorder-Wiedergabe separat dauerhaft ge-

speichert (außer im Zoom-Modus), so daß bei der

Anwahl einesAnzeigeformats automatisch die in der

jeweiligen Betriebsart zuletzt eingestellte Bildanord-

nung dargestellt wird.

6.2.1 Vollbild-Format

In diesem Format erscheint die gewählte Kamera

als Vollbild auf dem Hauptmonitor.

1) Um den Hauptmonitor in den Vollbild-Modus zu

schalten, die Taste (1) drücken. Die LEDs über

der Taste und über der Nummerntaste (15) der

gewählten Kamera leuchten. Mit jedem erneuten

Drücken der Taste wechselt die Anzeige auf

die Kamera mit der nachfolgenden Nummer. Über

eine der Nummerntasten kann eine gewünschte

Kamera auch direkt ausgewählt werden.

2) Durch Drücken der Taste (11) startet die auto-

matische Weiterschaltung (Sequenzschaltung)

der Kamera-Vollbilder. Die LED über der Taste

leuchtet. Näheres zu den Einstellungen für die

Sequenzschaltung in Kap. 8.4 „Menüpunkt 3: Se-

quenzschaltung einrichten“. Erneutes Drücken

der Taste stoppt die Sequenzschaltung; die

LED erlischt.

6.2.2 Bild-im-Bild 1 mit einer Einblendung

Im Bild-im-Bild-Modus 1 wird eine Kamera im Voll-

bild gezeigt und eine weitere Kamera darin einge-

blendet in 1/9-Größe des Vollbild-Formats.

1) Um auf den ersten Bild-im-Bild-Modus zu schal-

ten, die Taste (2) drücken. Die LED über der

Taste leuchtet. Mit jedem erneuten Drücken der

Taste wechselt die Einblendung auf die Kamera

mit der nachfolgenden Nummer. Zum Auswählen

der Kamera, die als Vollbild erscheinen soll, die

entsprechende Nummerntaste (15) drücken. Die

Kamera mit der nachfolgenden Nummer erscheint

im Vollbild eingeblendet.

Die Kameras für das Vollbild und die Einblen-

tet. Jetzt über die Nummerntasten zuerst das

Vollbild und dann die Einblendung wählen. An-

schließend erlischt die LED über der SEL-Taste

Rand in je 1/16-Größe des Vollbild-Formats darin ein-

geblendet.

1) Um auf den zweiten Bild-im-Bild-Modus zu schal-

ten, die Taste (3) drücken. Die LED über der

Taste leuchtet. Mit jedem erneuten Drücken der

Taste wechseln die Einblendungen auf die Ka-

meras mit den nachfolgenden Nummern. Zum

Auswählen der Kamera, die als Vollbild erschei-

nen soll, die entsprechende Nummerntaste (15)

drücken. Die Kameras mit den nachfolgenden

Nummern erscheinen im Vollbild eingeblendet.

Die Kameras für das Vollbild und die Einblen-

dungen lassen sich auch direkt zuordnen. Dazu

die SEL-Taste (12) drücken; die LED darüber

leuchtet. Jetzt über die Nummerntasten zuerst

das Vollbild und dann die Einblendungen wählen.

6.1.3 Live recording (recording of a selected

camera in full screen format)

This operating mode serves for breaking off the re-

cording in the time-multiplex technique and instead

recording only the picture of one camera channel

with the video recorder.

To switch to this operating mode, press button

LIVE REC. (14). The LED next to the button lights

up. Then select the camera to be recorded via the

corresponding numerical key (15). The camera must

be enabled for the recording (“ON”) in the setting

menu (see chapter 8.6 “Menu item 5: Cameras to

Record”) and really supply a video signal, otherwise

breaking off of the live recording function will result. If

a valid camera number has been selected, the LED

next to the LIVE REC. button blinks and every 20s a

short signal sound can be heard in case this function

has been activated in the setting menu. (For further

information on the settings refer to chapter 8.6.)

To stop the live recording and to return to the

video multiplex recording, press the LIVE REC. but-

ton once again.

6.2 Selecting display formats

The settings of the individual display formats are

permanently memorized separately for the operat-

ing modes of live monitoring and video recorder re-

production (except for the zoom mode) so that when

selecting a display format, the picture arrangement

last adjusted in the respective operating mode is au-

tomatically shown.

6.2.1 Full screen format

In this format the selected camera is displayed as

full screen picture on the main monitor.

1) To switch the main monitor to the full screen

mode, press the button (1). The LEDs above

the button and above the numerical key (15) of

the selected camera light up. With each new

pressing of the button the display changes to

the camera with the following number. Via one of

the numerical keys a desired camera can also

directly be selected.

2) By pressing the button (11) the automatic se-

quential switching of the full screen pictures of

the cameras starts. The LED above the button

lights up. For further information on the settings

for the sequential switching refer to chapter 8.4

“Menu item 3: Sequence Setup”. Press the but-

ton again to stop the sequential switching; the

LED extinguishes.

6.2.2 Picture-in-picture 1 with one insertion

In the picture-in-picture mode 1 one camera is shown

on the full screen and a further camera is inserted

into this picture in 1/9size of the full screen format.

1) To switch to the first picture-in-picture mode,

press the button (2). The LED above the but-

ton lights up. With each new pressing of the but-

ton the insertion changes to the camera with

the following number. To select the camera,

which is to be displayed as full screen picture,

press the corresponding numerical key (15). The

camera with the following number appears as

insertion in the full screen picture.

The cameras for the full screen picture and the

insertion can also be assigned directly. For this

press the SEL button (12); the LED above it lights

up. Now select the full screen picture first and then

the insertion via the numerical keys. Then the LED

above the SEL button extinguishes again.

Full screen picture and insertion can mutually

be exchanged. For this press the SEL button and

the button successively.

2) By pressing the button (11) the automatic se-

quential switching for the insertion starts. The

LED above the button lights up. For further

information on the settings for the sequential

switching refer to chapter 8.4 “Menu item 3: Se-

quence Setup”. Press the button again to stop

the sequential switching; the LED extinguishes.

6.2.3 Picture-in-picture 2 with four insertions

In the picture-in-picture mode 2 one camera is dis-

played on the full screen and four further cameras

are inserted in this picture at the lower edge, each in

1/16 size of the full screen format.

1) To switch to the second picture-in-picture mode,

press the button (3). The LED above the but-

ton lights up. With each new pressing of the but-

ton the insertions change to the cameras with

the following numbers. To select the camera,

which is to be displayed as full screen picture,

press the corresponding numerical key (15). The

cameras with the following numbers appear as

insertions in the full screen picture.

The cameras for the full screen picture and

the insertions can also directly be assigned. For

this press the SEL button (12); the LED above it

lights up. Now first select the full screen picture

and then the insertions via the numerical keys.

Then the LED above the SELbutton extinguishes

again. In case not all insertions are to be as-

signed to cameras, break off the procedure by

pressing the SEL button; the LED above the SEL

button extinguishes.

The full screen picture and the first insertion

(left) can mutually be exchanged. For this press

den, den Vorgang durch Drücken der SEL-Taste

abbrechen; die LED über der SEL-Taste erlischt.

2) Durch Drücken der Taste (11) startet die auto-

matische Weiterschaltung (Sequenzschaltung)

für das letzte Teilbild (rechts unten). Die LED

über der Taste leuchtet. Näheres zu den Ein-

stellungen für die Sequenzschaltung in Kap. 8.4

„Menüpunkt 3: Sequenzschaltung einrichten“. Er-

neutes Drücken der Taste (11) stoppt die Se-

quenzschaltung; die LED erlischt.

6.2.8 Mehrfachbild 4 x 4

Im Anzeigeformat 4 x 4 werden 16 Teilbilder in je

1/16-Größe des Vollbild-Formats gezeigt.

Um das Anzeigeformat 4 x 4 zu wählen, die Taste

(8) drücken. Die LED über der Taste leuchtet. Wird

über eine der Nummerntasten (15) eine Kamera aus-

gewählt, so erscheint diese im linken oberen Teilbild.

Die Kameras mit den nachfolgenden Nummern wer-

den fortlaufend in den übrigen Teilbildern dargestellt.

Die Kameras lassen sich auch direkt den Teilbil-

dern zuordnen. Dazu die SEL-Taste (12) drücken; die

LED darüber leuchtet. Jetzt über die Nummerntasten

nacheinander die gewünschten Kameras den Teilbil-

dern zuordnen. Anschließend erlischt die LED über

der SEL-Taste wieder. Sollen nicht allen Teilbildern

Kameras zugeordnet werden, den Vorgang durch

Drücken der SEL-Taste abbrechen; die LED über der

SEL-Taste erlischt.

6.2.9 Bildbereich vergrößern (Zoom)

Im Zoom-Modus wird ein Bereich des gewählten Bil-

des (bei Mehrfachbildern das erste Teilbild) zwei-

fach vergrößert als Vollbild dargestellt.

Zum Schalten in den Zoom-Modus die ZOOM-Taste

(13) drücken. Die LED neben der Taste leuchtet. Zur

Wahl des zu vergrößernden Ausschnitts wird das

gesamte Bild verkleinert eingeblendet. Darin befin-

det sich ein Rahmen, der den aktuell gewählten

Ausschnitt zeigt. Dieser Rahmen läßt sich mit Hilfe

der Cursor-Tasten (2), (3), (4), (5) in alle

Richtungen verschieben. Die eingeblendete Über-

sicht verschwindet ca. 2s nach der letzten Eingabe

und erscheint bei erneuter Betätigung einer Cursor-

Taste.

Zum Verlassen des Zoom-Modus die ZOOM-Ta-

ste erneut drücken. Die LED der Taste erlischt, und

das Gerät schaltet auf die vorher gewählte Darstel-

lung zurück.

Hinweise: Die automatische Bildweiterschaltung

(Sequenzschaltung) und das Einfrieren

des Bildes ist im Zoom-Modus nicht mög-

lich. Das Drücken einer Nummerntaste

(15) führt zum Abbruch des Zoom-Mo-

dus; die Kamera der gedrückten Nummer

wird im Vollbild-Format dargestellt.

6.2.10 Ansicht einfrieren („Freeze“)

Zum „Einfrieren“ der aktuellen Anzeige (Anzeige als

Standbild) die Freeze-Taste (9) drücken. Die LED

über der Taste blinkt, und auf dem Monitor wird in der

oberen rechten Ecke „FREEZE“ angezeigt. Zum

„Auftauen“ der Ansicht nochmals die Freeze-Ta-

ste drücken. Das Einfrieren eines Bildes im Zoom-

Betrieb ist nicht möglich.

6.3 Spot-Monitor

Alle bisher beschriebenen Anzeigeformate bezogen

sich auf den Hauptmonitor an der Buchse MAIN

(18). Zusätzlich verfügt der TVMP-1600 über einen

zweiten Monitorausgang SPOT (22). Zur Live-Über-

wachung zeigt der Spot-Monitor, unabhängig vom

Hauptmonitor, ein beliebiges Kamerabild oder meh-

rere Kamerabilder in automatischer Weiterschaltung

(Sequenzschaltung) im Vollbild-Format an.

Zum Schalten in den Spot-Monitor-Auswahlmo-

dus die SEL-Taste (12) zweimal kurz hintereinander

drücken. Die LED über der Taste beginnt daraufhin

zu blinken. Dann durch Drücken einer Nummern-

taste ein Kamera-Vollbild bzw. durch Drücken der

Taste (11) die automatische Weiterschaltung (Se-

quenzschaltung) anwählen.

Der Auswahlmodus für den Spot-Monitor bleibt

erhalten, bis erneut die SEL-Taste gedrückt wird.

7 Alarmfunktionen

Der Multiplexer verfügt über drei unterschiedliche

Alarmfunktionen:

Externer Alarm (Alarmauslösung durch externe

Alarmmelder)

„Activity Detection“-Alarm (Alarmauslösung durch

den integrierten Bewegungsmelder)

Bildverlust-Alarm (Alarmauslösung durch Verlust

des Videosignals)

AlleAlarmeinstellungen werden über das Bildschirm-

Menü durchgeführt (siehe Kap. 8 „Änderung der

Geräteinstellungen).

7.1 Externer Alarm

Sobald einer der angeschlossenen externen Alarm-

melder anspricht, wird Alarm ausgelöst.

Wichtig: Alarmauslösung über externe Alarmmel-

der ist nur möglich, wenn dieseAlarmfunk-

tion aktiviert ist (siehe Kap. 8.8, Menü 7:

Einstellung „Möglich“ in der Zeile „Exter-

nal“).

Tritt ein Alarm in der Betriebsart „Live-Überwa-

chung“ auf, werden folgende Funktionen aktiviert:

Die LED über der Nummerntaste (15) der ent-

sprechenden Kamera blinkt.

Auf dem Hauptmonitor und auf dem Spot-Monitor

wird im Bild der entsprechenden Kamera die Mel-

dung „ALARM“ eingeblendet.

Ein akustisches Signal ertönt [sofern der Sum-

mer für diese Alarmfunktion eingeschaltet wurde

(siehe Kap. 8.8, Menü 7: Einstellung „SUM“ in

der Zeile „External“)]. Das Drücken einer beliebi-

gen Taste beendet den Signalton.

Das Alarm-Relais schaltet [sofern es für diese

Alarmfunktion aktiviert wurde (siehe Kap. 8.8,

Menü 7: Einstellung „RLY“ in der Zeile „Exter-

nal“)].

Der Spot-Monitor schaltet bei Einzelalarm auf

das Vollbild der entsprechenden Kamera. Bei

Mehrfachalarm schaltet er kontinuierlich mit dem

in Menü 7 unter „Alarm Dauer“ eingestellten

6.2.9 Enlarging the picture range (zoom)

In the zoom mode a range of the selected picture (in

case of multiple pictures the first partial picture) is

displayed twice enlarged as full screen picture.

To switch to the zoom mode, press the ZOOM but-

ton (13). The LED next to the button lights up. To

select the cutout to be enlarged, the entire picture is

inserted in reduced size. A frame inside this picture

shows the presently selected cutout. This frame can

be displaced in all directions by means of the cursor

buttons (2), (3), (4), (5). The inserted

overview disappears approx. 2s after the last input

and appears with new actuation of the cursor button.

To leave the zoom mode, press the ZOOM button

again. The LED of the button extinguishes, and the

unit switches back to the display selected before.

Notes: In the zoom mode, the automatic sequential

switching of pictures and freezing of the pic-

ture are not possible. If a numerical key (15)

is pressed, the zoom mode is broken off; the

camera of the pressed number is displayed

in the full screen format.

6.2.10 “Freezing” a display

To “freeze” the present display (display as still pic-

ture), press the freeze button (9). The LED above

the button blinks, and “FREEZE” is displayed in the

upper right corner of the monitor. To “unfreeze” the

display, press the freeze button again. It is not

possible to freeze a picture in the zoom mode.

6.3 Spot monitor

All display formats described up to now have referred

to the main monitor at the MAIN jack (18). In addition,

the TVMP-1600 is equipped with a second monitor

output SPOT (22). For live monitoring, the spot moni-

tor displays any desired camera picture or several

camera pictures in automatic sequential switching in

full screen format, independently of the main monitor.

To switch to the spot monitor selection mode,

press the SELbutton (12) shortly twice in succession.

Then the LED above the button starts to blink. Then

select a full screen picture of the camera by pressing

a numerical key or select the automatic sequential

switching by pressing the button (11).

The selection mode for the spot monitor is main-

tained until the SEL button is pressed again.

7 Alarm Functions

The multiplexer has three different alarm functions:

external alarm (alarm triggering by external alarm

sensors)

“activity detection” alarm (alarm triggering by the

integrated motion detector)

video loss alarm (alarm triggering by loss of video

signal)

All alarm settings are made via the screen menu

(see chapter 8 “Change of the Unit Settings”).

7.1 External alarm

As soon as one of the connected external alarm

sensors responds, alarm will be triggered.

Important: alarm triggering via external alarm de-

vices is only possible if this alarm function

is activated (see chapter 8.8, menu 7:

setting “Enable” in the line “External”).

If an alarm occurs in the operating mode of live

monitoring, the following functions are activated:

The LED above the numerical key (15) of the cor-

responding camera blinks.

On the main monitor and spot monitor the mes-

sage “ALARM” is inserted in the picture of the

corresponding camera.

An acoustic signal sounds [if the buzzer for this

alarm function has been switched on (see chap-

ter 8.8, menu 7: setting “BUZ” in the line “Exter-

nal”)]. Press any button to stop the signal sound.

The alarm relay switches [if it has been activated

for this alarm function (see chapter 8.8, menu 7:

setting “RLY” in the line “External”)].

The spot monitor switches to the full screen pic-

ture of the corresponding camera in case of indi-

vidual alarm. In case of multiple alarm it switches

continuously between the full screen pictures of

the cameras concerned with the switching inter-

val adjusted in menu 7 under “Alarm Dwell”.

[This is only possible if the spot monitor has been

adjusted to the display of this alarm function (see

chapter 8.8, menu 7: setting “S.M.” in the line

“External”)].

The main monitor switches to the alarm display

format selected in menu 7 under “Alarm Display”:

If the option “4x4” is selected, the monitor

switches to the display format “multiple picture

4x4”.

If the option “FULL” is selected, the monitor

switches to the full screen format of the camera

concerned in case of individual alarm. In case of

multiple alarm it switches continuously between

the full screen pictures of the cameras concerned

with the switching interval adjusted in menu 7

under “Alarm Dwell”.

[This is only possible if the main monitor has

been adjusted to the display of this alarm function

(see chapter 8.8, menu 7: setting “M.M” in the

line “External”)].

For recordings via jack VCR OUT (21) the picture

rate changes (according to the setting “Alarm

Mode” in menu 4, chapter 8.5) and the recording

format changes (according to which recording

format has been adjusted for the external alarm;

for this see chapter 8.8, menu 7: setting “REC” in

the line “External”).

In the alarm record of the screen menu (see chap-

ter 8.10, menu 9: option “Alarm Count Display”),

the alarm triggering is registered: the kind of alarm

(sign “A” for external alarm) is stated, the camera

channel concerned, the time, and the date.

The buttons (10) and LIVE REC. (14) are

locked for the duration of the alarm.

If an alarm occurs during the operating mode “video

recorder reproduction”, it is handled by the TVMP-

1600 in the background, i.e. all procedures take

place as described above; only the display on the

main monitor is not changed. The button LIVE REC.

(14) is locked for the duration of the alarm. During
