Instructions for use

Please read before use, taking careful

note of points 1 and 2.

1Useyour toaster once without bread. This

willburnoffany dust which may have

accumulatedduringstorage.

2Selectthedesired level of browning(1 to 9)

onthebrowning control bypressing or

(‘+’or ‘-’). The unit defaultsto bread setting 3

whenfirstpluggedin.

Thesetting required will vary according tothe

moisturecontent and thickness of bread. For

bestresultsensurethat the bread slices are of

eventhickness,freshness andsize.

Rememberthat stale breadtoastsmore

rapidlythanfreshandthin bread toasts

quickerthanthick. See additional points for

moreinformation.

3Afterselecting the desired level, place

yourbreadinthe slots and depress the

breadcarriage lever downwards until it

locks.

Note:Thebreadcarriageleverwill not

staydown unless the toaster isplugged in

andthe wall switch is on.

4Afterthesetdegreeofbrownesshasbeen

reachedthe bread willpop-upautomatically

readyfor removal from the slots. The toaster

willthen beep many times. The bread

carriagelever will have returned toitsupper

positionand theheatingelementwill have

switchedoff,ready for the next toasting.

•Thebacklight will go off if no buttons are

pressedforafew minutes.

•Ifthe first slices are notdark enough turn

thebrowning control to a higher setting at next

toasting.

•If the bread in your toaster becomes

jammed disconnect your toaster at the

socket, allow it to cool, then remove the

bread.

•Whennot in use, switch your toaster offat

themains and remove the plug from the

socket. DO NOT WRAP THE CABLE

AROUND THE MAIN BODY OF THE

APPLIANCE DURING OR AFTER USE.

Using the frozen bread button

Totoastfrozenbread, there is no need to

adjustthe browning control from your preferred

setting,the toaster will automatically toast foran

extendedtime periodwhenyouuse the frozen

function.Placethebreadnormally in the slots,

thenpressthefrozenbreadbutton and

depressthe bread carriagelever.

Using the cancel button

Ifyouwishtointerruptthe toasting process,

pressthecancel button. You can also use

cancelbutton to revert back to the bread setting

fromthefrozen, re-heat or bagel functions.

Using the re-heat button

Ifyourtoasthaspoppedupandgonecold,the

toasteroffersare-heat facility.To use, press the

re-heatbutton , then depress the bread

carriagelever. The toaster will operate forashort

periodre-heating thebread.

Using the bagel button

Totoast bagels there is no needtoadjustthe

browningcontrol from your preferred setting, the

toasterwill automaticallytoastforan extended

timeperiodwhen you use the bagel function.

Cutthebagelsinhalf.Placethebagelhalves

normallyintheslots,then press the bagel button

and depress the bread carriage lever.

Using the bun rack (certain models only)

Clipthebunrackonto the top of the toaster,

ensuringitissecurelyplaced.Setthebrowning

controltobetween 1 and 3. Depress the bread

carriageleveruntilit holds down. Wait for the

toastertoswitchoffautomaticallyorpressthe

cancelbuttontoswitchthetoasteroffbefore

removingthebuns.Takecarenottotouchthe

metalof the bun rack asthis will be hot.

Crumb tray

Crumbswillaccumulateinthecrumbtray and

couldcatchfireifnot emptied periodically. When

thetoaster has cooleddowncompletely, tapthe

sidesofthecaselightly to dislodge any crumbs

lodgedin the toasting chamber and pull out the

crumbtray .Emptythetrayandreplaceit.

Cleaning and Maintenance

1Afteruseandbefore cleaning, switch off

atthemains, remove the plug from the wall

socketandwaitforthetoastertocool.

2Wipetheoutsideof the toaster with a damp

clothonly and dry with another cloth or

tissue.

•NEVER usemetal polish or coarse scouring

agentsand never immerseyourtoasterin

anysortofliquid.

•NEVERuseanypointedorsharparticles

forcleaning the inside, otherwise the

heatingelementwillbedamaged.

•NEVER use a brush or push your fingers or

metalobjects down the slots.

Additional points

•When toasting 2 slices or more (on 4 slice

model)it is recommended they are ofequal

sizeandfreshness.
