Foreword

The Motorola APX Radios AA Lithium/

AA Alkaline Replaceable Battery Pack is

an accessory that allows Motorola APX

radios to operate using standard AA

batteries. This allows the radio to be

operated in conditions where there is no

available power supply to recharge the

standard NiMH, or Li-Ion batteries, such

as power outages and remote locations.

Additionally, the battery pack can be

used as an emergency backup to these

standard batteries.

Attention:

This unit has been optimized for 1.5 V

Lithium Primary AA Battery and 1.5 V

Alkaline Primary Battery. The use of

other battery chemistries is not

recommended.

The use of 3.6 V Lithium Primary AA

Battery could create permanent damage

to the system. Additionally, the unit has

been tested and optimized with the

following battery manufacturer:

Energizer.

The Motorola APX Radios AA Lithium

Replaceable Battery Pack is compatible

with Motorola APX Radio.

Use only 12 pieces 1.5 V Lithium

Primary AA Batteries or 12 pieces 1.5 V

Alkaline Primary Batteries, mixed

chemistry battery could cause system

malfunction. Battery-Type-Selector

switch should be toggled to the position

according to the type of battery

chemistry used.

Wrong switch position will cause

incorrect Low Battery Alert Indication.

Use of this battery pack will

automatically select the radio’s

low-power setting. For proper operation,

the radio’s low-power setting must be

turned to 2 W or less.

The radio will indicate low battery alert

when the AA batteries voltage level is

low. The user can see the battery

indicator blinking at the top right of the

radio display. The moment the user sees

a low battery alert, user is advised to

change the AA batteries immediately.

explode if disposed of in fire.

3. DO NOT replace batteries in a

potentially explosive atmosphere.

4. Contact sparking may occur.

5. To prevent injury or burns, DO

NOT allow metal objects to

contact or short circuit the battery

terminals.

6. For your protection, store battery

pack in a climate controlled

location when not in use.

7. DO NOT store the battery pack

with battery inserted. DO NOT

attempt to charge the battery

pack.

8. DO NOT expose battery pack with

battery installed to salt water

unless it is attached to a radio.

9. Battery pack alone is not

submersible.

1. Slide in the battery pack towards

the radio chassis slot as shown

below. Push the bottom of battery

pack until both latches snap in

place.

sides as Figure 2. Then slide out

the battery pack from the radio.
