IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed including

the following:

READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

a) This equipment is designed for use with germicidal UV radiation sources and must be

installed in compliance with competent technical directions to prevent risk of personal injury

from UV radiation.

b) UV radiation can pose a risk of personal injury. Overexposure can result in damage to eyes

and bare skin. To reduce the risk of overexposure this equipment must be installed in

accordance with the manufacturer’s site planning recommendations. This may include

instructions on the relative location of each germicidal system component, the minimum

distances between UV-generating devices and other objects or surfaces, and protection from

line-of-sight exposure to UV radiation in occupied spaces located above the equipment

mounting area (e.g. upper ﬂoor balconies, open staircases, etc.)

c) UV and optical radiation can be reﬂected by surrounding surfaces such as ceilings and walls.

Since the reﬂective properties of surfaces can vary widely, it should be considered as part of

site planning. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for selecting appropriate ceiling

and wall ﬁnishes.

d) IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INSTALLER TO ENSURE THAT PERSONS WILL NOT BE

EXPOSED TO EXCESSIVE UV OR OPTICAL RADIATION DURING EQUIPMENT OPERATION.

THIS WILL REQUIRE THE INSTALLER TO CONDUCT AN ASSESSMENT OF IRRANDIANCE OR

ILLUMINANCE LEVELS IN THE SURROUNDING OCCUPIED SPACES PRIOR TO OCCUPANCY.

e) Equipment should be mounted in locations and at heights where it will not readily be

subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.

f) Maintenance and servicing of this UV generating equipment shall be performed by authorized

personnel. Service personnel must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if the

equipment will be in operation during the maintenance or servicing work. Contact the equipment

manufacturer for PPE recommendations and guidance.

g) When replacing lamps, replace them only with the lamps for which the equipment is marked

and intended.

h) The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer may cause an unsafe

condition.

i) Do not use this equipment for other than intended use.

—This product must be installed in accordance with the applicable installation code by a person

familiar with the construction and operation of the product and the hazards involved.

—Disconnect power before installation and verify that power is off before working on the ﬁxture.

—To avoid electrical shock, do not disassemble product.

—This product is intended for indoor dry locations. Not for use where exposed directly to the

weather or water.

—If the lamp or ﬁxture exhibits undesirable operation (buzzing, ﬂickering, etc.), immediately turn

off power, remove lamp from the ﬁxture and contact your service technician.

—This product shall not be used in places where there are ﬂammable and/or explosive materials

present.

WARNING UV-C emitted from this product.

Avoid eye and skin exposure to unshielded product.

This product emits UV-C light during operation. Exposure to UV-C light can cause injury to the eyes

and skin. To prevent possible injury, eyes and skin should not be exposed to direct or reﬂected

ultraviolet light emitted by this lamp. This lamp is in Risk Group 3 per IEC 62471-2. Adequate

protection can be provided by clothing, gloves, opaque materials, UV-C blocking eyewear and

ordinary window glass.

ASSEMBLY and INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Tools needed:

—Screwdriver

—Multimeter

—100-277V AC power source with ground wire

—Two wall anchors

—Two anchoring screws with a minimum of one inch in length

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) needed:

—UV-C blocking eyewear and protective clothing (gloves, long sleeves, etc.) to avoid direct

UV-C exposure to human skin and eyes.

Equipment and Containment Safeguards

It is the responsibility of the end user to address hazardous exposure risks and to ensure

that people entering the containment area while the product is operating are aware of the

risks, and that appropriate controls and safeguards are in place.

—This product should only be installed by a licensed electrician, and safety measures such as

interlocking devices, lockouts, safety switches or separating on/off switches for the product

from other on/off switches are recommended.

—This product shall be installed on its own electrical safety circuit with disconnecting means

(separate switch) provided by the user. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the

power source for this product be accessed only by trained operators and/or a qualiﬁed

service technician.

—Wear UV-C blocking eyewear and protective clothing (gloves, long sleeves, etc.) to avoid

direct UV-C exposure to human skin and eyes.

—This ﬁxture is equipped with an IR motion sensor. The sensor provides a 30-second delay

before the lamp will energize. The sensor will also switch off the ﬁxture immediately when

motion is detected in the UV workspace. The ﬁxture will not turn back on itself; it needs to be

powered off and back on again for the ﬁxture to be powered back on.

—A 5-second break is required before switching the product on again right after it switches off,

due to a 3 to 5-second system reset.

—The manual sensitivity feature of the sensor has been disabled by the manufacturer/factory.

The default setting has been set to MAXIMUM sensitivity.

—The workspace should be clear of people and animals during operation.

7. Mount the cover plate on the casing

and ﬁx the cover plate with the

fastening screws.

9. Then rotate the lamp 90° to

secure it in place.

8. Mount the G30T8/OF ultraviolet lamp

provided into the lampholder in the

direction shown below.

1. Loosen the thumb screws to remove the

cover plate.

4. Mount the ﬁxture on the wall or ceiling, aligning

the mounting holes to the wall anchors

and securing with the

anchoring screws.

2. Take the lampholders from the casing

and ﬁx them into the grooves at each end

of the casing.

3. Drill holes at the predeﬁned mounting

positions, and embed wall anchors

for screws.

Make sure the circuit breaker that will supply power to the ﬁxture is turned off.

Fixture can be either wall or ceiling mounted. Recommended installation height is

between 8 to 13ft.

5. Connect the power

cable to the terminals.

Application Notes:

—Although the lamp will operate in standard ﬂuorescent ﬁxtures, it should not be used for

general lighting applications.

—DO NOT INSTALL THIS EQUIPMENT IN A DWELLING. This product is for professional

use only.

—This product is most effective on surfaces directly exposed to the light; soiled surfaces,

porous materials or recessed areas may not be disinfected.

—UV-C can age non-metallic materials such as plastic, rubber, paint, etc., and can damage

plants. Shield all non-metallic materials exposed under UV-C light when using the product.

—This product is not suitable for the cleaning, disinfection or sterilization of medical devices.

—Insufﬁcient UV-C dose may not achieve the intended disinfection effect. It is the responsibility

of the user to measure UV-C irradiance to ensure the required UV-C dose is attained in the

workspace.

—This product shall be maintained regularly by a qualiﬁed service technician. Always disconnect

power to the product during maintenance and repair.

—The UV-C intensity of this product is determined according to the service time of the lamp.

When the accumulative service time of the UV-C lamp exceeds its effective lifetime, the lamp

must be replaced to achieve the intended disinfection.

—When using this product, keep the germicidal space clean and dry, close the doors and

windows, and avoid outdoor air circulation.

—The original design and testing of this product is based on the use of an OSRAM G30T8/OF

(PURITEC HNS 30W G13) UV-C germicidal lamp. Use of an alternate light source as a

replacement can result in lower UV-C radiant output.

—OSRAM germicidal HNS lamps contain mercury. Please follow local regulations when disposing of

a used lamp.

MESURES DE PROTECTION IMPORTANTES

Lors de l’utilisation d’équipements électriques, des précautions de sécurité de base doivent

toujours être suivies, notamment les suivantes :

a) Cet équipement est conçu pour être utilisé avec des sources de rayonnement UV germicides et

doit être installé conformément aux instructions techniques appropriées pour éviter tout risque

de lésion due au rayonnement UV.

b) Le rayonnement UV peut présenter un risque de lésion corporelle. Une surexposition peut

endommager les yeux et la peau nue. Pour réduire le risque de surexposition, cet équipement

doit être installé conformément aux recommandations de planiﬁcation du site du fabricant,

notamment les instructions concernant l’emplacement relatif de chaque composant du système

germicide, les distances minimales entre les dispositifs générateurs d’UV et d’autres objets ou

surfaces et la protection contre l’exposition directe au rayonnement UV dans les espaces

occupés au-dessus de la zone d’utilisation de l’équipement (par exemple, balcons à l’étage

supérieur, escaliers ouverts, etc.)

c) Le rayonnement UV et optique peuvent être réﬂéchis par les surfaces environnantes telles que

les plafonds et les murs. Étant donné que les propriétés réﬂéchissantes des surfaces peuvent

varier considérablement, vous devez en tenir compte lors de la planiﬁcation du site. Suivez les

f) Les opérations de maintenance et d’entretien de cet équipement générant des UV doivent être

effectuées par du personnel autorisé. Le personnel d’entretien doit porter des équipements de

protection individuelle (EPI) appropriés si l’équipement de rayonnement doit être utilisé pendant

les travaux de maintenance ou d’entretien. Contactez le fabricant de l’équipement pour obtenir

des recommandations et des conseils sur les EPI.

g) Lors du remplacement des lampes, installez uniquement des lampes pour lesquelles

l’équipement est homologué et conçu.

h) L’utilisation d’équipements ou d’accessoires non recommandés par le fabricant peut entraîner

une situation dangereuse.

i) N’utilisez pas cet équipement à d’autres ﬁns que celles pour lesquelles il a été conçu.

RISQUE D’INCENDIE OU DE DÉCHARGE ÉLECTRIQUE

—Ce luminaire (le produit) doit être installé conformément au code d’installation applicable par une

personne connaissant la construction et le fonctionnement du produit ainsi que les risques

encourus.

—Débranchez l’alimentation avant l’installation et vériﬁez que l’alimentation est coupée avant de

travailler sur le luminaire.

—Pour éviter les décharges électriques, ce produit ne doit pas être démonté.

—Ce produit ne doit être installé à l’intérieur, dans un lieu sec. Ne l’installez pas où il serait exposé

directement aux intempéries ou à l’eau.

—Si la lampe ou le luminaire présentent un fonctionnement indésirable (bourdonnement,

scintillement, etc.), coupez immédiatement l’alimentation et retirez la lampe du luminaire puis

contactez votre technicien d’entretien.

—Ce produit ne doit pas être utilisé dans des endroits où des matières inﬂammables et/ou

explosives sont présentes.

Évitez toute exposition des yeux et de la peau à ce

produit sans écran de protection.

Ce produit émet une lumière UV-C pendant son fonctionnement. L’exposition à la lumière UV-C peut

provoquer des lésions aux yeux et à la peau. Pour éviter d’éventuelles lésions, les yeux et la peau ne

doivent pas être exposés à la lumière ultraviolette directe ou réﬂéchie émise par cette lampe. Cette

lampe est classée dans le Groupe de risque 3 conformément à la norme CEI 62471-2. Une protection

adéquate peut être obtenue par des vêtements, des gants, des matériaux opaques, des lunettes

anti-UV-C et du verre à vitre ordinaire.

Outils requis :

—Tournevis

—Bloc d’alimentation de 100-277 V c.a. avec ﬁl de mise à la terre

—Deux dispositifs d’ancrage au mur

—Deux vis d’ancrage d’une longueur minimale d’un pouce (2,54 cm)

Équipement de protection individuelle (EPI) requis :

—Lunettes anti-UV-C et vêtements de protection (gants, manches longues, etc.)

pour éviter l’exposition directe aux UV-C de la peau et des yeux.

Équipement et mesures de conﬁnement

Il incombe à l’utilisateur ﬁnal de gérer les risques d’exposition dangereux et de s’assurer que

les personnes entrant dans la zone de conﬁnement pendant que le produit fonctionne sont

conscientes des risques et que des contrôles et des mesures de protection appropriés sont

en place.

—Ce produit ne doit être installé que par un électricien agréé, et des mesures de sécurité telles

que des dispositifs de verrouillage, des verrous, des interrupteurs de sécurité ou des

interrupteurs marche/arrêt séparant le produit des autres interrupteurs marche/arrêt sont

recommandées.

—Ce produit doit être installé sur son propre circuit de sécurité électrique avec des moyens de

déconnexion (interrupteur séparé) fournis par l’utilisateur. Il est de la responsabilité de

l’utilisateur de s’assurer que la source d’alimentation de ce produit n’est accessible que par

des opérateurs qualiﬁés et/ou un technicien de maintenance qualiﬁé.

—Portez des lunettes anti-UV-C et vêtements de protection (gants, manches longues, etc.) pour

éviter l’exposition directe aux UV-C de la peau et des yeux.

—Ce luminaire est muni d’un détecteur de mouvement à infrarouge. Ce détecteur retarde

l’activation de la lampe de 30 secondes. De plus, le détecteur désactive immédiatement la

lampe dès qu’un mouvement est détecté dans l’espace de rayonnement UV. Le luminaire ne

se remet pas automatiquement en marche. Pour le remettre en marche, quelqu’un doit

désactiver et réactiver l’interrupteur.

—Une pause de 5 secondes est nécessaire avant de remettre le produit sous tension après un

arrêt, en raison d’un délai de réinitialisation de système de 3 à 5 secondes.

—La fonction de sensibilité manuelle du capteur a été désactivée par le fabricant/l’usine. Cet

équipement a été réglé pour une sensibilité MAXIMALE.

—Aucune personne ni aucun animal ne doit se trouver dans l’espace de travail pendant le

fonctionnement.
