This boilermust beinstalledbyaqualifiedcontractor.
Theboilerwarrantycan bevoidedifthe boilerisnot installed,maintained,andservicedcorrectly.
Theequipmentshallbe installedinaccordancewiththoseinstallationregulationsinforceinthe localareawheretheinstallationistobemade,includingthe
currenteditionof NFPA-31.Theseshallbecarefullyfollowedin allcases.Authordieshavingjurisdictionshallbeconsultedbeforeinstallationsaremade.
A-ACCESSIBILITYCLEARANCES
1 - To providefor reasonableconditionsof accessibilityfor servicing,the following minimumclearancesare recommendedbetweenthe boiler and
adjacentwallsor otherappliances--atleast24" inthe front,rearand onbothsides.
B- AIRFORCOMBUSTIONANDVENTILATION
1- Becertainadequatefacilitiesareavailableto provideairfor satisfactorycombustionandventilation.
2 - AppliancesLocatedin UnconfinedSpaces.
a. For installationsin unconfinedspaceswith conventionalconstructionand largeareas suchas basements,the supplyof air forcombustionand
ventilationcanusuallybe consideredadequate.
3 - AppliancesLocatedin ConfinedSpaces.
a. Ifall air for combustionand ventilationisto comefrom withinthebuilding;twoopenings,onenearthe ceilingandone nearthe floor ofthe boiler
roomshallbe providedwiththe minimumfreearea ofeachopeningequalto 140sq.in.pergallonofoil burned.
b. Ifall airfor combustionandventilationistocomefromoutsidethebuilding;twoopenings,one neartheceilingandone nearthefloorofthe boiler
roomshallbeprovidedwiththeminimumfreeareaof eachopeningequalto 35sq.in. pargallonofoil burned.If ductsareusedtoconveytheair,
areasof35 sq.in.pergallonofoil burnedfor verticalductsor 70 sq.in.pergallonofoil burnedforhorizontalductsareto beprovided.Ductsshall
havethesameareaas thefreeareaof theopeningstowhichthey areconnected.
C-SETTINGBOILERBLOCK
1-The SeriesEC/ECT boilersectionsare factoryassembledwiththe targetwallshipped in place. Providea levelfoundation,locatedas close as
possibletothecenterofthe heatingsystemandtothechimney.TheheatingsurfaceoftheSedesEC/ECTboilersisdesignedtobecleanedfromeither
thetop or leftsideofthe unit.Allowadequateclearanceon the leftof unitif servicingisto bedonefromthe side.
2- Openfluecollectorcarton.Removefluecollector(Item9, Fig. 4) and hightemperaturerope.Lay rope(Item8, Fig.4)ontop of boileragainstbead
provided.Placefluecollectorontop of ropeandattachto boilerwith1/4"-20x 13/4"studswith nutsthroughfluecollectorbracketsintothetappedlugs
providedin thetopof the boilerendsections.Drawnutsdownsnugly.
3- Removeclean-outcoverplatesandinsulation(25).Eachclean-outcoverplateisattachedtothe boilerby usingtwo carriagebolts,nutsandwashers(24).
Installthe carriageboltsintothenotchatthe top andbottomof eachclean-outopening,thensecurethemwith aflatwasherand steelnutasshownin
Figure1lockingthemintoplace.Pressthe clean-outplatewithinsulationoverthe protrudingcarriageboltsuntiltheboltspunchthroughtheinsulationso
flatwasherand brassnutcanbeinstalled,Tightendownnutssnuglycompressingthe insulationtoforma goodsealaroundthecleen-outopening,
4-This boilerissuitableforuseon combustibleflooring,providedthe boilerisnot seton carpetanda metaldrip panis placedundertheappliance.
