Introduction

Please read these instructions carefully before

using the appliance.

The unique Thermoflow System

This new Philips beauty hairdryer has been

specially designed to meet your personal needs.

The Thermoprotect hairdryer features the

innovative Thermoflow System that uses more air

but less heat.This system dries your hair just as

quickly as an ordinary hairdryer without the risk

of dehydration. It preserves your hair's natural

moisture level and leaves your hair with the lustre,

body and richness you love.To get beautiful hair

you need to dry it, not dehydrate it.

Important

◗Check if the voltage indicated on the

appliance corresponds to the local mains

voltage before you connect the appliance.

◗Keep this appliance away from water! Do not

use this product near or over water

contained in baths, washbasins, sinks etc.

When used in a bathroom, unplug the

appliance after use since the proximity of

water presents a risk, even when the

hairdryer is switched off.

◗For additional protection we advise you to

install a residual current device (RCD) with a

rated residual operating current not

exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit

supplying the bathroom.Ask your installer for

advice.

◗Keep the appliance out of the reach of

children.

◗Never block the air grilles.

◗If the appliance overheats, it will switch off

automatically. Unplug the appliance and let it

cool down for a few minutes. Before you

switch the appliance on again, check the grilles

to make sure they are not blocked by fluff,

hair, etc.

◗Always switch the appliance off before putting

it down, even if it is only for a moment.

◗Always unplug the appliance after use.

Drying

1Put the plug in the wall socket.

C2Switch the appliance on by selecting the

desired setting:

C◗÷: Quick-Dry setting - to dry shower-wet

hair very quickly and safely.

We advise you to use the Quick-Dry setting only

briefly to avoid dehydrating your hair.

The Care Mode light goes out when you select

the Quick-Dry setting.

◗II: Care & Dry setting - strong airflow and

caring temperature for fast but gentle drying.

◗I: Styling setting - low airflow, especially

intended for styling.

The Care Mode light goes on when you select

the Care & Dry setting or the Styling setting to

indicate that you are drying with care.

◗O: Off.

3Dry your hair by making brushing

movements while holding the dryer at a

small distance from your hair.

C4The Cool Shot fixes the style you have

created with cool air.

Press the button and keep it pressed for a short

time.

Styling attachments

Concentrator

The concentrator enables you to direct the

airflow at the brush or comb with which you are

styling your hair.

C1Connect the concentrator by simply

snapping it onto the appliance. Disconnect

it by pulling it off.

Comb diffuser

The diffuser enables you to create volume, a fancy

flick or to simply comb your hair.

C1Connect the diffuser by simply snapping it

onto the appliance. Disconnect it by pulling

it off.

Volume

Use the comb diffuser to add volume at the roots

of your hair.

C1Insert the pins into your hair until they

touch your scalp.

2Start at the lower part of your head and

move upwards slowly. Make rotating

movements with the appliance to disperse

the warm airflow evenly through your hair.

Straight hair

Use the comb diffuser to create a straight

hairstyle.

C1Insert the pins into your hair.

2Start at the upper part of your head and

move the comb downwards slowly.

Cleaning

1The appliance can be cleaned with a dry

cloth.

2The attachments can be cleaned with a

moist cloth or rinsed under a running tap.

Remove the attachments from the appliance

before cleaning them.

Make sure the attachments are dry before using

or storing them.

Never rinse the appliance with water.

Replacement

◗If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged,

it must always be replaced by Philips or an

authorised Philips service centre, as special

tools and/or parts are required.

◗Always return the appliance to an authorised

Philips service centre for examination or

repair. Repair by unqualified people could

cause an extremely hazardous situation for

the user.
