Introduction
This new Philips Satin style aqua 600 has been
specially designed to give beautiful styling results
in a quick and easy way.Its steam function allows
you to make healthy and shiny curls or waves at
any time.
Important
◗Before you connect the appliance,check if the
voltage indicated on the appliance
corresponds to your local mains voltage.
◗Keep this appliance away from water! Do not
use this product near or over water
contained in baths,washbasins,sinks etc.If you
use it in a bathroom,unplug the appliance
after use,since the proximity of water
presents a risk,even when the hairdryer is
switched off.
◗For additional protection we advise you to
install a residual current device (RCD) with a
rated residual operating current not
exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit
supplying the bathroom.Ask your installer for
advice.
◗Use the appliance only on dry or damp hair.
◗The barrel will become hot during use.
Prevent contact with the skin.
◗Never block the air inlet grille.
◗When the appliance overheats,it will switch
off automatically.Unplug the appliance and let
it cool down for a few minutes.Before you
switch the appliance on again,check the grilles

to make sure they are not blocked by fluff,
hair,etc.
◗Keep the appliance away from children.
◗Always unplug the appliance after use.
◗Wait until the appliance is cool before storing
it.
Before styling
C1Unscrew the CoolTip water reservoir
from the brush.
C2Fill the reservoir with water under a gently
running tap.
C3Hold the appliance upside down,brush end
pointing down and screw the reservoir
back onto the brush.
Drying and styling
◗We advise you to perform a curl test to
determine how long the brush should be held
in your hair to achieve a good result.Start
with 8 to 10 seconds.You may have to hold

the brush in your hair longer for tighter curls.
Less tight curls will require less than 8
seconds.
1Insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
C◗Make sure the switch is in ON position.
C2Comb or brush the hair so that it is
disentangled and smooth.Divide the hair
into locks with a comb.Do not put too
much hair in one lock.
The appliance is ready for use after approx.
8 minutes.
C◗The ready dot has turned from red to black.
C3Take a lock of hair and wind it round the
barrel.Make sure the end of the lock is
wound in the required direction.
- Do not wind too much hair round the barrel at
a time.
- The thinner the lock of hair,the tighter the curl
will be.
- Do not wind a lock of hair more than twice
round the brush.
- Make sure the lock of hair is in contact with the
barrel.
C4Set the appliance to your preferred speed
setting.

◗On:normal heating.
◗~ :a gentle warm airflow for easy styling.
◗6:a stronger and warmer airflow for fast
styling and drying.
◗6:a cool setting to fix the curl or wave.
C5Wind the hair at right angles to the scalp.
This will give your hair optimum lift and
volume.
C6Activate the steam function by pushing the
CoolTip water reservoir into the barrel.
Hold it up to 3 seconds before releasing it.
One push will suffice to set one curl or wave.
7Hold the brush in place as long as required
(normally 8 to 10 seconds).
◗For long-lasting results,direct a cool airflow at
your hair to fix your style.
C8Switch the appliance to 6for cool air.
The temperature of the airflow drops to Cool to
freeze the created style.
9Remove the brush from your hair, by
sliding the brush out of the hair without
picking up underlaying hair.
Make sure you hold the brush away from the
underlying hair when you remove it.

C10 Let the curls cool down before combing,
brushing or finger-combing the hair to
finish your style.
Storage
1Unplug the appliance.
2Do not wind the mains cord round the
appliance.
C3Unscrew the CoolTip water reservoir and
pour out the remaining water.
4Put the appliance in a safe place and let it
cool down.
C5The appliance can be stored by hanging it
from its hanging loop.
Cleaning
◗The appliance can be cleaned with a small
brush or dry cloth.
◗To prevent the build-up of limescale,add 3-4
drops of vinegar to the CoolTip water
reservoir,top up with water and plug in the
appliance.After a few minutes,i.e.when the
ready dot has turned black,activate the steam
function for 3 seconds.Activate the steam

function 10 more times,then unplug the
appliance and rinse out the CoolTip water
reservoir.
Replacement
◗If the mains cord of this appliance is damaged,
it must be replaced by an authorised Philips
service centre,as special tools and/or parts
are required.
◗Always return the appliance to an authorised
Philips service centre for examination or
repair.Repairs by unqualified people could
cause an extremely hazardous situation for
the user.

permet de réaliser des boucles et des vagues
saines et brillantes.

◗Tenez l'appareil à l'écart de l'eau.Ne l'utilisez

◗La barre métallique devient chaude pendant

automatiquement à l'arrêt.Débranchez alors
l'appareil et attendez quelques minutes qu'il
refroidisse.Après avoir vérifié que la grille
