1. Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the Philips SRP 1001 universal

remote control. The SRP 1001 is a handy zapper with all main keys

and ergonomic shape for comfortable control.

After installing the remote control it can operate the most-used

functions of almost any brand of TV.

You can find information about how to prepare this remote control

for use in the chapter ‘Installing the remote control’.

2. Installing the remote control

Inserting the batteries

1Press the cover inwards

and lift it up.

2Place two R03, UM4 or AAA type

batteries into the battery

compartment, as shown.

3Replace the cover and click it firmly

into place.

Testing the remote control

Because the SRP 1001 may use different signals for each brand and

even for different models of the same brand, it is advisable to test

whether your TV responds to the SRP 1001.

The example below instructs you how to do this.

1Turn your TV on manually or use the original remote control.

Tune to channel 1.

2Check whether all the keys

are working. For an overview of the

keys and their functions see ‘3. Keys

and functions’.

– If the TV responds as it should to all

of the key commands the SRP 1001

is ready for use.

Setting the remote control

This is only necessary if your TV does not respond to the

SRP 1001. If that is the case, the SRP 1001 does not recognize the

brand and/or model of your TV and you need to program the

remote control to do so. The example below instructs you how to

do this. You can set the remote control either manually or

automatically.

1Turn on the TV manually or use the original remote control.

Tune in to channel 1.

2ook up the brand of your TV in the

code list at the back of this manual.

One or more 3-figure key codes are

shown for each brand.

Note the first code.

3Keep keys 1 and 3 on the SRP 1001

pressed simultaneously for five

seconds until the indicator light

remains lit.

4Then enter the code noted in step

2 using the code keys.

– The indicator light will now flash

twice. If the indicator light flashes

once for an extended period, the

code has not been entered properly

or the wrong code has been entered. Start again from step 2.

5Point the SRP 1001 at the TV and check that it responds as it

should.

– If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the SRP 1001

is ready for use.

Do not forget to note your code.

Automatically s tting th r mot control

If you cannot find the right code for your brand device, the remote

control can automatically search for the right code.

1Make sure the TV is switched on and select a channel using

the original remote control or the keys on the TV (for

example channel 1).

2Keep keys 1 and 3 on the SRP 1001

SRP 1001 pressed simultaneously for

five seconds, until the indicator light

remains lit.

3Press the ykey of the SRP 1001 .

and keep it pressed

– The SRP 1001 now starts emitting

all known ‘TV off’ signals, one by

one. Each time a code is sent, the

indicator light flashes.

4When your TV switches off

(stand-by), immediately release the

ykey of the SRP 1001 to confirm.

– The SRP 1001 has now found a

code that works on your TV.

5Check if you can operate all

functions on your TV with the SRP 1001.

• If this is not th cas , you can r do th automatic

s tting. Th SRP 1001 will th n s arch for a cod that

p rhaps works b tt r.

– After the SRP 1001 has run through all the known codes, the

search will stop automatically and the indicator light stops

flashing.

– Automatic programming of a TV takes a maximum of 6

minutes.

3. Keys and functions

The illustration on page 3 gives an overview of all keys and their

functions.

1Indicator light . . . . flashes / lights up when a key / key

combination is pressed.

4. Troubleshooting

• Problem

– Solution

• The device you want to operate does not respond when you

press a key.

– Replace the old batteries with two new R03, UM4 or AAA type

batteries.

– Point the SRP 1001 at the device and make sure that there are

no obstructions between the SRP 1001 and the device.

• The SRP 1001 does not respond properly to commands.

– Maybe you are using the wrong code. Try programming the

SRP 1001 again using another code, which is mentioned under the

brand of your device, or reset for automatic search to find the right

code.

• Your brand of device is not in the code list.

– Try to set the SRP 1001 automatically. See ‘Automatically setting

the remote control’.

• None of the codes works during manual setting of the remote

control.

– If that is the case, follow the instructions under ‘Automatically

setting the remote control’.

1. Einleitung

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zu Ihrer Entscheidung für diese universelle

Fernbedienung SRP 1001 von Philips. Die SRP 1001 ist ein

praktischer ‘Zapper’ mit alle Haupttasten und ergonomischer Form

für bequeme Bedienung. Nach Inbetriebnahme kann die

Fernbedienung die meistbenutzten Funktionen fast jeder

Fernsehgerät-Marke steuern. Nähere Informationen zur

Inbetriebnahme dieser Fernbedienung finden Sie in dem Kapitel

‘Inbetriebnahme der Fernbedienung’.

2. Inbetriebnahme der Fernbedienung

Einlegen der batterien

1Drücken Sie den Deckel nach innen

und heben Sie ihn hoch.

2egen Sie zwei Batterien vom Typ

R03, UM4 oder AAA wie angegeben

in das Batteriefach ein.

3Schieben Sie den Deckel wieder auf

und lassen Sie ihn fest einrasten.

Prüfen der Fernbedienung

Da die Signale der SRP 1001 bei jeder Marke und sogar bei den

einzelnen Modellnummern unterschiedlich sein können, sollten Sie

prüfen, ob Ihr Fernsehgerät auf die SRP 1001 reagiert. In dem

nachstehenden Beispiel wird beschrieben, wie Sie hierfür am besten

vorgehen.

1Schalten Sie das Fernsehgerät von Hand ein oder benutzen

Sie hierfür die Original-Fernbedienung. Stimmen Sie das Gerät

auf Kanal 1 ab.

2Kontrollieren Sie die Funktion der

einzelnen Tasten. Eine Übersicht über

die Tasten und ihre Funktion finden

Sie in Kapitel 3 ‘Tasten und

Funktionen’.

– Reagiert das Fernsehgerät

ordnungsgemäß auf alle Tastenbefehle, so ist die

Fernbedienung SRP 1001 einsatzbereit.

Einstellen der Fernbedienung

Dies ist nur dann notwendig, wenn Ihr Fernsehgerät nicht auf die

SRP 1001 reagiert. Ist dies der Fall, so erkennt die SRP 1001 nicht

die Marke und/oder das Modell Ihres Fernsehgeräts, und Sie

müssen die Fernbedienung entsprechend programmieren. In dem

nachstehenden Beispiel wird beschrieben, wie Sie hierfür am besten

vorgehen. Sie können die Fernbedienung entweder automatisch

oder manuell einstellen.

1Schalten Sie das Fernsehgerät von Hand ein oder benutzen

Sie hierfür die Original-Fernbedienung. Stimmen Sie das Gerät

auf Kanal 1 ab.

2Schlagen Sie die Marke Ihres

Fernsehgeräts in der Codeliste

hinten in dieserAnleitung nach. Ein

oder mehrere 3-stellige(r)

Tastencode(s) wird/werden für jede

Marke gezeigt. Notieren Sie sich den

ersten Code.

3Halten Sie di Tasten 1 und 3 auf der

Fernbedienung SRP 1001 gleichzeitig

fünf Sekunden lang gedrückt, bis die

Anzeige weiterhin leuchtet.

4Dann geben Sie den in Schritt 2

notierten Code anhand der

Codetasten ein.

– Die Anzeige blinkt jetzt zweimal.

Blinkt die Anzeige einmal lang, wurde

der Code nicht korrekt eingegeben

oder es wurde ein verkehrter Code eingegeben. Beginnen Sie

noch einmal ab Schritt 2.

5Richten Sie die Fernbedienung SRP 1001 auf das Fernsehgerät

und kontrollieren Sie, ob das Fernsehgerät ordnungsgemäß

reagiert.

– Reagiert das Fernsehgerät ordnungsgemäß auf alle

Tastenbefehle, so ist die Fernbedienung SRP 1001

einsatzbereit. Vergessen Sie nicht, Ihren Code zu notieren.

Wenn Sie den richtigen Code für Ihre Geräte-Marke nicht finden

können, kann die Fernbedienung automatisch nach dem richtigen

Code suchen.

1Sorgen Sie dafür, dass das Fernsehgerät eingeschaltet ist, und

wählen Sie mit Hilfe der Original-Fernbedienung oder mit den

Tasten am Gerät einen Kanal (zum Beispiel Kanal 1).

2Halten Sie die Tasten 1 und 3 auf

der Fernbedienung SRP 1001

gleichzeitig fünf Sekunden lang

gedrückt, bis die Anzeige weiterhin

leuchtet.

3Drücken Sie die Bereitschaftstaste y

auf der SRP 1001 und halten Sie

die Taste gedrückt.

– Die SRP 1001 beginnt jetzt, alle

bekannten ’TV aus’-Signale

nacheinander zu übertragen. Immer

dann, wenn ein Code gesendet wird,

blinkt die Anzeige.

4Beim Abschalten des Fernsehgeräts

(Bereitschaft) lassen Sie die

Bereitschaftstaste yder SRP 1001

sofort los.

– Die Fernbedienung SRP 1001 hat

jetzt einen Code gefunden, der für

Ihr Fernsehgerät funktioniert.

5Kontrollieren Sie, ob Sie alle Funktionen Ihres Fernsehgeräts

mit der SRP 1001 steuern können.
