3630, QUICK START GUIDE

1. Carefully unpack the printer, feeder, conveyor and accessories.

Save the packing materials.

2. Choose a suitable location for the printer. Not in direct sunlight.

3. With the help of another person; lift the printer, using the “recessed carrying

handles”, and place the printer onto a sturdy table that can safely support the weight

of the printer.

4. Position the optional feeder stand and feeder (FDR12, FDRSS) at the entrance end

of the printer.

NOTE: The User Manual (Operators’ Guide) describes the use of the FD-13/15

Feeder. This feeder is not offered in the USA.

5. Position the optional conveyor/stacker/dryer at the exit end of the base.

6. Verify the proper connections as outlined below.

3630 Connections

•Strapping Plugs (dummy plugs) must fill all open positions, in the Emergency Stop

connection area, on the printer.

Be sure to use the proper strapping plug, as shown above.

oStrapping Plug OUT (has red marker) must be connected to the OUT (RENA

OUT) connection (has red circle) on the printer.

oStrapping Plug IN must be connected to the IN (RENA IN) connection on the

printer.

If you are using the FDR12 or FDRSS feeder models; use cable part # 9200661 to attach

the “Relay 2” connection on the Controller and the Feeder.

7. Check to be sure that the red Emergency Stop Button is released (reset).

11. Press the green button on the printer, to activate the Emergency Circuit. This button should

illuminate and the “EMERGENCY BUTTON… message should go away.

Tip: If the green button does not illuminate and the “EMERGENCY BUTTON…”

message does not go away, check to be sure all Strapping Plugs are properly

connected, the Emergency Stop Button has been released (reset), the Plexiglas

Cover is closed and the “Finger Guard” is closed.

12. The copper “Grounding Straps” are provided to attach

adjacent devices together and reduce the chance for “static

discharge” between devices; which can damage electronics.

Attach these straps to a good earth ground connection on the

conveyor and feeder.

13. Please refer to the User Manual (Operator’s Guide) for

instructions on how to install the printer driver, connecting the

computer, install the ink cartridges and operate the printer.
