The “Remington QFP40” is factory equipped for natural gas (NG) and is field convertible to pro-
pane gas (LP), hen equipped ith the Conversion Kit #842-4470 available from an Aladdin Hearth
Products dealer. This appliance uses a millivolt-type control system consisting of a gas control valve/
regulator, a standing pilot burner assembly, a thermopile, a piezo ignitor, and the ON/OFF s itch. THIS
UNIT DOES NOT REQUIRE 110 VOLT POWER TO OPERATE. All exhaust gases must be vented
outside the structure of the living area. Combustion air is dra n from outside the living area structure.
WARNINGS:
This appliance should be inspected before use and at least annually by a qualified service person. More
frequent cleaning may be required here excessive lint from material like carpeting and bedding is present.
The control compartment, the burner compartment and all circulating air passage ays of the appliance
must be kept clean and clear at all times. Due to high temperatures, the appliance should be located out
of traffic and a ay from furniture and draperies. This appliance must not be connected to a chimney flue
servicing a separate solid fuel burning appliance. Children and adults should be alerted to the hazards of
high surface temperature and should stay a ay to avoid flesh burns or clothing ignition. Young children
should be carefully supervised at all times hen they are in the same room as the appliance.
CAU ION: All safety screen or guard components removed for servicing, must be replaced prior to
operating the appliance. Clothing or other flammable material should not be placed on or near the appli-
ance. Risk of electrical shock. S itch the household breaker off or remove fuse before servicing unit.
Use Simpson DURA-VENT direct vent system (Model GS) to vent this appliance to the exterior (direct
discharge only ithout duct connection).
