MSI-51B / MSI-53B
INTRODUCTION
The SIEMENS Models MSI-51B and MSI-53B
Manual Stations are addressable devices contain-
ing advanced control panel communication tech-
nology. This technology, hich provides t o
direction communication ith the control panel,
produces an Intelligent Initiating Device.
OPERATION
This manual station housing has a pull do n lever
that locks in position after releasing a spring
loaded s itch (See Figure 3). To indicate the
manual station is activated, the pull do n lever
remains do n and locked until the station is reset.
The MSI-51B and MSI-53B are reset by opening
the hinged housing cover ith an Allen key and
then closing and locking the cover.
The MSI-53B Manual Station is an addressable
station the same as the MSI-51B, but it also has a
nonaddressable 2nd Stage Key S itch.
1. Locate the opening on the MSI-51B and
MSI-53B cover that allo s access to the
programming points on the MSI-51B and
MSI-53B printed circuit board. (Refer to
Figure 1.)
2. The manual stations are programmed by using
the SIEMENS Model FPI-32 Programmer/Tester.
Connect the MSI-51B and MSI-53B to the
Programmer/Tester by using the cable provided
ith the Programmer/Tester.
NOTE: The connection from the FPI-32 to the
MSI-51B and MSI-53B is not polarity
sensitive. Ho ever, connection from the
Control Panel to the MSI-51B and MSI-53B is
polarity sensitive.
