2 Sonera Yritysinternet Quick guide
Sonera Yritysinternet quick installation
Sonera Yritysinternet is a modular Internet access service that can be expanded with a number
of supplementary features. The service is subject to a fixed monthly charge – no suprises, no
additional costs. Easy, fast, cost-efficient! If you have a Microsoft Windows or an Apple com-
puter, all you need to do is plug a modem into the computer with a network cable provided
(the one with yellow connectors). An Internet connection is established automatically, unless
you have changed the default settings of the computer.
A wireless LAN service (WLAN) is available only if you have ordered it separately.
The Sonera Yritysinternet delivery contains the following components:
- Internet access with a selected data transmission rate
- A customer modem, two network cables (red and yellow RJ45 connectors) and a grey
telephone cable (RJ11 connectors)
- A SurfManager® management and reporting service
- Separately selected Sonera Yritysinternet supplementary services
The terminal devices supported in the Yritysinternet service are Technicolor TG789, TG799
and, on fibre sites, TG11000.
First check the following:
- The customer modem has been installed.
• ADSL /VDSL implementation:
- the broadband indicator light of
the customer modem flashes green
when the connection is up
• Ethernet implementation:
- the customer modem does not have
an indicator light that would show
the connection is up
• Fibre implementation
- On the customer modem the Internet light
is illuminated green when the device has
network access
- When the customer device (workstations, network printer, server, etc.) is connected to
a modem, the Ethernet indicator light on the customer modem is illuminated.
- The WAN port indicator light on the back flashes green when the Internet connection is
being used.
NOTE: Establishing a network connection takes about 60 seconds. The broadband indicator
light flashes when the connection is being established.
If no connection can be set up, make sure that your workstation has been set to retrieve
TCP/IP network settings automatically from an DCHP server.
