INSTALLATION
How to Install: Place your pump on top of a flatbrick or stone atthe bottom of your
water garden. Elevating the pump off of the basin bottom will help prevent debris from
interfering with the pump’s performance.To test performance, completely submerge
the pump under water and plug into a GFCI outlet.When your pump is working
properly, you will hear a low humming sound and water will be circulating out of
the top outlet. If you do not hear the humming sound or experience performance
problems, please read the troubleshooting tips and care instructions in this guide.
Note:When attaching an adapter, fountain nozzle or other accessory to the pump, use
plumber’stape atthe connection points for a tight fit.
Note:The 3000 and 4300 GPH pumps are not recommended for use with water
accent attachments.

HINTS AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Pump operates but there is no water flow
CAUTION:ALWAYS UNPLUGTHE PUMP BEFORE HANDLING.
Make sure the pump is fully submerged. Check the tubing for kinks or obstructions
and ensure pump outlet is clear of objects. Check water inlet for any obstructions.
If normal water flow has not returned, remove bottom plate and turbine cover to
access turbine area. Rotate the turbine to ensureit is not broken or jammed. Rinse the
turbine with clean water to remove any debris. Replace turbine cover and bottom
plate before plugging into GFCI outlet.

MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY
Maintenance
01. Always unplug the pump from the electrical outlet before handling it.
02. Keep the pond water clean.
03. Always operate the pump completely submerged. Check the water level daily
to ensure the pump will remain submerged.Add water if necessary.
04. Clean the pump periodically to prevent mineral deposits and contamination.
05. Product is not to be operated below 41°F— Freeze Damage May Occur. If the
pump is installed outdoors in a North American freeze zone, ensure all water
is removed and the unit is completely dry and stored in a frost-free area.
Safety Notes
Sunterra pond pumps arecarefully inspected and tested to ensure both safety and
operating performance. However, failure to follow the instructions and warnings in
this guide may result in pump damage and/or serious injury. Sunterra will not be held
liable for anydamage resulting from failure to observe this guide’s instructions.
01. To reduce risk of electric shock, always unplug the pump from the electrical
outlet before handling or cleaning the pump.
02. To reduce risk of electric shock, inspect the pump and cord for damage before
installation or maintenance— replace pump if damage is found.
03. Do not exceed proper voltage as indicated on the pump’s cord label.A GFCI
outlet is required.
04. Always keep the cord away from high temperature and heat.
05. Toachieve the best flowing performance, the pump should be placed on a flat
surface and completely submerged in the water.
06. Do not let the pump run dry as this will shorten the pump’s life.
07. Do not lift, hang, or pull the pump by the power cord.
08. Do not pump heated liquids.

Our Sunterra pumps are warranted to the user against defective materials
and workmanship.

01. Sunterra pumps offer a two-year limited warranty.
Limited warranty exclusions
01. Our limited warranty does not cover any costs associated with the installation
or removal of products subject to warranty claims.
02. All of these warranties are from date of purchase. Replacement liability is
limited to Sunterra’s sole discretion of any part or parts of the unit’s defective
material or workmanship. Proof of purchase is required for all claims against
the limited warranty.
03. This warranty does not extend to damage of a Sunterra product or part resulting
from accident, misuse, alteration, neglect, abuse, improper installation or normal
wear and tear to the product(s).This limited warranty extends only to the
original user of the Sunterra product.
