Lets clear the air
CV/CM Modular Cartridge Air Filters for Commercial/Industrial Applications
Over recent years a growing body of scientific evidence has indicated that the air
within our homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than the
outdoor air in even the largest and most industrialised cities. It also indicates that
people spend approximately 90% of their time indoors.
Indoor pollution is made up of pollens, dust, tobacco smoke, spores, cooking
fumes, welding fumes, oil mist, aerosols, exhaust fumes and even bacteria and
viruses, these pollutants circulate throughout the environment.
They are trapped by the energy saving advances of tighter construction and
better insulation so not only is outdoor air kept out, but indoor air is sealed in
giving rise to lethargy and general malaise, commonly known as Sick Building
Syndrome.
TRION AIR PURIFIERS
For more than 50 years, Trion has been a pioneer and market leader in the
development, manufacture and marketing of air purifying equipment. Its business
is related to products which help improve the quality of indoor air and conserve
energy.
Trion manufactures and markets worldwide a complete range of air purification
equipment covering the widest range of applications in the domestic, commercial,
industrial and marine markets.
FROM SUBMARINES TO SKY SCRAPERS
Trion air purifiers use the same principle to improve the quality of air in your
home, office and factory as is used in the sophisticated systems we have designed
for the US, UK and other European submarine fleets.
At Trion, we believe that just because most air cleaners resemble each other on the
outside, they do not necessarily operate the same on the inside. The products
described in this brochure were designed to do the things our competitors can’t.
For over 50 years Trion have been at the forefront of electronic air purification
technology, and people around the world enjoy the benefits of breathing clean air
whether at home, work or at leisure, thanks to Trion.
HOW TRION CM / CV CARTRIDGE AIR CLEANERS WORK
Contaminated air is drawn through high efficiency cartridge
filters, where the particulate is collected on the media.
Filtered air is pulled through the system and exhausted.
Direction of exhaust can be varied.
APPLICATIONS
For industrial work environments,Trion cartridge dust collection
systems are excellent for fixed applications.
• Heavy Smoke from Welding and Laser Cutting
• Grinding Dust and Metal Fines
• Pharmaceuticals
• Heavy Powders
• Process Dust from Food Processing, Packaging, etc.
BENEFITS / ADVANTAGES
• Over 99% efficient down to 0.5 micron
• Very high surface collecting area
• Easily cleaned with automatic pulse-jet, reducing maintenance
downtime and extending filter life
• Contains and captures contaminants for recycling or easy
removal
• Effectively handles heavy duty cycle applications

The TRION CV Series units are freestanding, self-cleaning cartridge filters suitable for the removal of most
dry smoke and dusts (not explosive or flammable).
The filter cabinet is made from 1.5mm welded sheet metal. The unit is supplied on a stand with a collection
hopper and dust barrel which can be easily removed and emptied.
The self-cleaning system utilises compressed air which is stored in tanks on the outside of the unit. The
compressed air is led directly through the tank into the cartridges. Alternatively, the cartridges can be
cleaned during operation (on-line) or through pressure difference, which saves on compressed air.
Additionally, there is an off-line cleaning system installed. The control box with a filter monitoring
mechanism for cleaning is included. The interval-pulse sequences are individually adjustable as are
the δ-p-value settings.

The TRION CM Series units are also freestanding and self-cleaning cartridge filters but without integral
fan. Air movement is provided by other external sources.
The self-cleaning system process is exactly the same as the CV model. For both the CM and CV changing
the cartridges is made easy by the large doors on the front of the unit. The larger dust particles are led
directly into the collection hopper through a buffle which is installed at the air inlet.
The filter cabinet is also made from 1.5mm welded sheet metal. The unit is supplied on a stand with a
collection hopper and dust barrel which can be easily removed and emptied. The unit price includes a
compressed air maintenance system with a reverse-safety valve, water filter and pressure valve.
