EN
Never use the LevelCheck in areas
where explosion hazards do or might
exist, such as filling stations.
To avoid injury hazards, never expose
the batteries to temperatures in excess
of 212°F (100°C).
Do not expose the LevelCheck to tem-
peratures in excess of 176°F (80°C). The
battery may rupture or explode if dis-
posed of in fire or exposed to excessive
heat, for example if it is left out in the sun.
The battery may leak harmful chemicals
that may damage skin, clothing, or the
inside of the LevelCheck.
Avoid eye and skin contact with any
material that is leaked from the battery.
Reduce injury hazards or potential
damage to your LevelCheck:
− Use only name brand alkaline batteries
− Never use rechargeable or reusable
batteries
− Never allow children to install batter-
ies unsupervised
− Follow the battery manufacturer’s
instructions for the proper handling,
storage, and disposal of batteries
Avoid eye injuries:
− Never look directly into the light
source (LED)
− Never shine the light from the
LevelCheck into anybody’s eyes
The LevelCheck has not been designed for
use by people (including children) who have
restricted physical, sensory, or mental abili-
ties or a lack of experience and/or knowl-
edge, unless they are supervised by a person
responsible for their safety or have received
instructions from that person on how to
properly handle and use the LevelCheck.
The LevelCheck is not a toy. Children
must be supervised accordingly.
Protect the LevelCheck from moisture,
and especially rain, to avoid malfunction
or damage.
Do not cut or remove the ultrasound
head (Fig. 1-1).
Do not allow the LevelCheck to come
into contact with sunscreen.

Intended use
The LevelCheck is a mobile fill level indi-
cator for all (propane/butane – LPG) steel
or aluminum gas cylinders with a diame-
ter of 7.9 to 13.8 in (200 to 350mm). The
LevelCheck recognizes whether there is
liquid in the cylinder at the determining
point, and indicates this.
This LevelCheck is designed for private
use only.
A gas cylinder is filled to a max. of
80% of its volume. The fill level of
a full or partly filled cylinder changes de-
pending on the gas mixture (ratio of pro-
pane/butane), the temperature, and indi-
vidual cylinder volume. The LevelCheck
is not an exact measuring device, but is
instead an indicating device to determine
the approximate fill level of a gas cylin-
der. In order to exactly measure (in lb or
kg) the LPG contents of the cylinder, a
scale must be used.
The LevelCheck is not suitable for plastic
gas cylinders and automotive propane
tanks.
To ensure reliable indications,
the ultrasound head (Fig. 1-1)
must be cleaned with a damp cloth
(without detergent) every time
before use.
A soiled ultrasound head (Fig. 1-1) may
lead to inaccurate indications. Aluminum
cylinders, in particular, transfer dust par-
ticles that can impact on the determining
process.

5
EN
In the case of soiled or rusty gas cylin-
ders, it is usually difficult to determine
the fill level. The determining process can
also be impeded by the following:
− An invisible area of rust inside the gas
cylinder
− A very thick coat of paint on the out-
side of the gas cylinder
− Stickers on the outside of the gas
cylinder
− (Icy) condensation on the outside of the
gas cylinder
− Dented or severely scratched gas
cylinders
Cleaning the gas cylinder or
taking the indication at a dif-
ferent point is usually successful in
such cases.
Determining the fill level
Shut off all gas appliances before deter-
mining the fill level.
Determine the fill level by taking several
indications at various heights on the gas
cylinder (from the bottom to the top).
Do not drag the LevelCheck along
the gas cylinder.
An indication is started by pressing the
ultrasound head (Fig. 1-1) horizontally
onto the gas cylinder (confirmed by a
beep tone).

6
EN
The status LED (Fig. 1-3) flashes orange
during the determining process.
The end of the determining process is
indicated via a second beep tone and
the determining result is displayed on the
status LED (Fig. 1-3).
Status LED green – Liquid detected
where the
LevelCheck is
pressed onto the
gas cylinder
Status LED red – No liquid, or inac-
curate indication
The LevelCheck switches off automati-
cally after an indication has been taken.
LED light (flashlight)
The LED light (Fig. 1-2) is switched on by
pressing the button (Fig. 1-4). Re-press-
ing the button switches the LED light off
again. The LED light switches off auto-
matically after about 5 minutes.
Undervoltage/malfunction
− The displayed indication result flashes:
The battery is low (indications can still
be taken)
− The red status LED flashes and the
buzzer beeps 3 times:
The battery is empty (indications can
no longer be taken)
Battery change
Please use only leak-resistant alkaline
batteries
(E-Block 9V), Type6 LR61, 6F22.
Unscrew the screw (Fig. 1-7) from the
bottom of the device. Push the bottom
in the direction of the arrow and detach.
Replace the battery, and, when doing so,
check the correct polarity of the wires.
