Safety Warnings and Precautions
WARNING:When using product, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of personal injury and damage to equipment.
Read all instructions before using this product!
1. Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
2. Observe work area conditions. Keep work area well lighted.
3. Store idle equipment. When not in use, the Oil Drain Tank must be stored in a safe and clean
location. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children.
4.
Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which the Oil Drain Tank
was designed. Do not modify the Oil Drain Tank and do not use it for a purpose for which it was
notintended.
5. Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should
be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function.
Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation.
Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately.
6. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts will void the warranty.
7. Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on
prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there
is any doubt, do not operate the product.

8. Use eye protection. Always wear ANSI-approved impact safety goggles when assembling
and using this product.
9. Only use on a flat surface capable of supporting the Oil Drain Tank and its contents.
10. Always check hardware and assembled parts after assembling. All connections should be
tight and hardware tightened.
11. Dress safely. Non-skid footwear or safey boots should be used when working with this
product. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry as they can become caught in moving parts.
Wear a protective hair covering to prevent long hair from becoming caught in moving parts.
12. Do not allow children in the work area.
13. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times to prevent tripping, falling, and
injury.
14. Always secure the Wheels and Casters in place while operating the Oil Drain Tank.
15. Know and obey city and state laws for proper disposal of oil. Dispose of oil properly in
accordance with all local laws and regulations.
16. WARNING: This product contains or, when used, produces a chemical known to the
State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

17. Never leave this product unattended while operating or evacuating oil.
18. Never use this equipment near open flame or heat sources.
19. The Oil Drain Tank is to be used only for oil. Do not use for any other liquid.
Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot
cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by
the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into
this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
Unpacking
When unpacking your Oil DrainTank, check to make sure the parts listed on page 5 are included. If
any parts are missing or broken, please call HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS at 1-800-444-3353.
Assembly
Your Oil Drain Tank will require complete assembly. It is important that you read the entire manual to
become familiar with the product BEFORE you assemble and use the Oil Drain Tank. Before
assembling and operating the Oil Drain Tank be sure that you have all parts described in the Parts
List and Assembly Diagram page 5 of this manual.
1. Attach Upper Tube (3) to Lower Tube (4) by sliding Upper Tube (3) into Lower Tube (4)-see
Figure 1. Secure in place with Long Screw (9) as shown in Figure 1.

2. Attach Funnel (2) to Upper Tube (3) and secure in place with Short Screws (1).
3. Slide LowerTube (4) into top tube on Tank (6) as shown in Figure 2. Adjust to desired
height and tighten Adjusting Clamp (5).
Operation
1. The Oil Drain Tank must be on a flat, secure and level surface capable of supporting the Oil
Drain Tank and its contents. Secure and block the Casters (7) in place to keep the
Casters (7) from rolling.
2. Raise the Funnel (2) by turning and loosening the Adjusting Clamp (5) and raising the Upper
Tube (3) with Lower Tube (4) so that the Funnel (2) sits in the desired position. Lock it in
place by tightening the Knob on the Adjusting Clamp (5); turn it clockwise until tight.
3. Drain oil into the Funnel (2) which will flow into the 8 GallonTank (6). Do not fill theTank (6)
above its 8 gallon maximum capacity.

To Empty the Oil
1. Turn the knob on the Adjusting Clamp (5) to lower the Upper and LowerTubes (3/4).
Disconnect Upper Tube, Lower Tube and Funnel (2) from the Tank (6).
2. Place the Valve (8) so that it sits securely over a collection receptacle (not included)-see
Figure 3.
3. Remove the Valve (8) cap and pour used oil into the collection receptacle.
WARNING! Be cautious of any splashing or spilling hot oil. Also, never leave the Oil
DrainTank unattended when evacuating oil.
4. When the Tank (6) is empty, replace the cap on the Valve (8).

Transporting the Oil Lift
Note: Only transport the Oil Drain Tank over a hard and flat surface which is capable of supporting
the Oil Drain Tank. To keep the Oil Drain Tank from rolling, place small wood blocks (not
included) in front of each caster.
1. Always move the Oil DrainTank with two hands while moving the load. This will provide
security in case one hand slips while moving the load.
Cleaning and Maintenance
1. Before each use, examine the general condition of the entire Oil Drain Tank. Check for loose
screws, misalignment, binding of moving parts, improper mounting, broken parts and any
other condition that may affect is safe operation. Do not use a damaged product.
2. Caution: Always remove all oil from the Oil DrainTank before performing any cleaning,
servicing or maintenance.
3. Keep the outside of the equipment free of oil or grease. Use only a mild soap and damp
cloth when cleaning. Do not use a flammable or combustible solvent.
