EMCP Assembly & Operating Instructions - Page 6 of 36 - Version 1.0
2.2.1 Introduction
The machine design is such that safe use and maintenance are possible. Anyone who works with it must know
the instructions and regulations stated in this manual.
The owner ensures users know the Safety instructions, regulations, and observations.
This distinction is because operators must meet other (safety) requirements than the technical service staff.
n The operator performs the daily cleaning and maintenance work described in the operating instructions.
2.2.2 Personal Protective Equipment
While handling, assembling and maintaining the implement adhering to all recommended safety instructions and
ensuring that the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used.
Always wear:
n Safety helmet for head protection and prevention from falling objects.
n Safety gloves for hand protection and prevention of cuts from sharp edges.
n Steel-tipped safety boots for foot protection from falling objects.
n Wrap-around safety glasses for eye protection and to prevent damage caused by shooting particles.
n Safety vest for recognizable presence, visibility and safety.
n Any other Personal Protection Equipment that the working environment might require, specify, or dictate.
n Your Company can prescribe additional (safety) instructions. This Manual does not describe how to comply
with this.
2.2.3 Generally Applicable Safety Rules
This list contains general safety measures which must be complied with for personal safety reasons.
n Only persons who have read and understood the operating instructions might be in the machine's vicinity.
n Tractor implements are not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental
capabilities or who lack experience and knowledge.
n Make sure children and animals cannot come into the machine's vicinity.
n Unauthorized persons may not perform acts if the machine is in use.
n Never work alone; always ensure that at least one person is nearby.
n Do not remove the brought warning stickers or markings.
n Always clean the machine properly and keep the workplace free of dirt and obstacles.
n Always use the equipment in daylight or ensure sufficient artificial lighting.
2.2.4 General Safety Rules for Machines
n Ensure the work area around the equipment is smooth, clean and free from any obstacles. Keep in mind that
a dangerous situation can always arise. Long loose hair is not allowed.
n Never wear loose or torn clothing. Permanently remove jewelry.
n Do not make any repairs if you are tired or consume alcohol or drugs, affecting your ability to work perfectly.
n When lifting more than 22 kg of heavy parts, use a hoist or ask for help to prevent personal injury.
n Incorrect practice or lack of care can cause burns, wounds, mutilation, suffocation, bodily injuries, or death.

EMCP Assembly & Operating Instructions - Page 7 of 36 - Version 1.0
n Ensure that all hoisting equipment, such as lifting straps, hooks, or ropes, is in a good state of repair and can
safely bear the equipment's weight.
n Never bypass door interlocks or safety sensors and switches.
n Leaking chemicals, oil, or water on electrical equipment can result in severe damage or fire.
n Watch for hot parts on switched-off components and hot liquids in lines, pipes, and compartments to
prevent burns.
n Never open any vent or drain valve or remove any plugs under pressure.
n Ensure that oil pumps are isolated from the system and relieve the pressure before disassembling a pump,
removing plugs, or disconnecting piping.
n Always use tools that are in a good state of repair. Ensure you know how to use tools before doing any work.
n ONLY use replacement parts from the same brand as the relevant part.
n Always use replacement fittings having the same part number. Do not use fitting of inferior quality.
n PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT: The handling and cleaning of spent oil or chemicals may be subject to national
or local laws and regulations. Use authorized waste processing services, including Municipal facilities and
garages, which provide official facilities for collecting oil and chemicals.
n Parts that rotate can cause cuts, mutilations or strangulation.
n Always switch OFF the main power before performing service and maintenance.
n Switch the power ON only after closing all machine protection guards and covers.
n Never use a high-pressure water beam for cleaning electrical components and cabinets.
n Do not aim a high-pressure water beam directly at wiring, breathers, or hydraulic components' sealings of
drive components.
n Do not allow water or any other fluid to contact electrical components.
n Always protect venting spots from the inlet of large amounts of water.
n Contact the provincial or Municipal authorities or the Environmental Protection Service for guidelines about
handling correctly and cleaning up spent oil and chemicals if in doubt.
2.2.5 Safety and Health Measures when using Hydraulic Fluid
WARNINGS FOR HYDRAULIC-DRIVEN SYSTEMS
• Hydraulic fluid is hot when the machine has just come to a stop.
Allow the implement to cool down entirely before repairing the hydraulic system.
• Avoid contact with high-pressure fluid at all times. Liquid under high pressure quickly
penetrates clothing or skin, resulting in serious injuries.
• Prevent oil leakage or spillage to avoid the risk of slipping.
• Replace rubber and plastic hoses after six years with equivalent hoses.
• Changing the hydraulic system or using it for another purpose is forbidden.
Non-observance of the regulations, as mentioned above, is considered gross negligence. In this case, the supplier
is not liable for any damage.
Anyone working on installations where hydraulic fluid, lubricating oil, grease, or preservatives are used must
observe the following rules:
n Wear protective gloves and safety glasses or goggles when working with hydraulic systems.
n Do not remove the protection sleeves from the hydraulic hoses.

EMCP Assembly & Operating Instructions - Page 8 of 36 - Version 1.0
n Avoid prolonged contact with the liquid on the skin. In the event of contact, carefully cleanse the skin. Wear
clothing that is free of this liquid. Also, be careful when eating and drinking during the operation.
n Avoid skin contact with liquids over 60°C or hot machine parts.
n Avoid eye contact; if this happens, cleanse with plenty of water and contact a doctor.
n Liquid storage must follow official guidelines; pay attention to fire extinguishers and emergency exits.
n Permanently remove spilled liquids immediately to prevent them from slipping.
n Hydraulic liquids should not get into the ground or in surface water.
n Avoid high-pressure fluids hazards. Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing severe
injury.
n Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic lines. The hydraulic systems operate
under extremely high pressure.
n Never try to stop leaks from the system by hand.
n Do not attempt makeshift repairs to the hydraulic lines, fittings, or hoses using tapes, clamps, or types of
cement. Such maintenance will fail suddenly and create a hazardous condition.
n Use paper or cardboard, not body parts, to check for suspected leaks.
n Have used liquids removed and recycled by specialized companies.
n If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Always treat any fluid injected into the skin within a few
hours.
WARNING!
• Read and understand all Safety measures and Warnings before operating or
adjusting.
• Untrained persons who have not thoroughly read and understood this manual might
never approach the machine.
• Refer to all safety decals in this manual. Please read all instructions noted on them.
2.3 ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR EMBANKMENT FLAIL MOWERS
n The operator should be familiar with all functions of the implement.
n Operate the implement from the driver’s seat only.
n Persons under 18 should NEVER operate or be near the verge mower during operation.
n Do not operate the flail mower under the influence of drugs or alcohol, as severe injury or death could result.
n Bystanders must keep a safe distance from an operating flail mower (15’.)
n Ensure all guards and shields are secured before operating the equipment.
n Do not operate the device for any purpose other than what it is meant for. (See warranty for details.)

n Immediately push the emergency stop and cut off the power if system parts emit smoke, unusual odor, or
unusual sounds. Otherwise, fire may start.
n Never leave the flail mower unattended while it is running.
n Dismounting from a moving tractor could cause severe injury or death.
n Do not stand between the tractor and the implement during hitching.
n When raising and moving implements, watch for wires, trees, etc. Make sure all persons are clear of the
working area.

EMCP Assembly & Operating Instructions - Page 9 of 36 - Version 1.0
n Turning the tractor too tight may cause the implement to ride upon wheels. It can result in injury or
equipment damage.
n Regularly visually inspect the flail mower; check all fasteners and securing parts.
n Ensure the PTO shaft does not come apart or bottom out during the normal lifting range.
n It is NOT recommended to operate the flail mower in temperatures below freezing. Hardened steel (used on
flails) can become brittle in temperatures below freezing and may result in breakage.
n Always switch off the engine and put the keys in your pocket before attempting any alterations, repairs, or
(height) adjustments.
n Keep hands, feet, clothing, and other extremities away from power-driven parts. Wear snug-fitting clothing
to avoid entanglement with moving parts.
n Do not wear long hair and/or loose clothing when working around the flail mower. Personal injury can occur.
2.4 Safety Precautions Continued for Tractor and/or Loader (If
Equipped)
n Read the tractor and/or loader operator's manual to learn how to operate your tractor and/or loader safely.
Failure to do so could result in severe injury, death, and equipment damage.
n The tractor is recommended to be equipped with a Rollover Protective System (ROPS) and a seat belt and
that you use the belt for all loader operations.
n Add wheel ballast or front weight for stability.
n Move wheels to the tractor manufacturer's most comprehensive recommended settings to increase stability.
n Use a tractor with a wide front axle rather than tricycle front wheels for better stability.
n Always move and turn the tractor at low speeds.
n Stop the tractor’s engine, place the transmission in park mode (or neutral), engage the parking brake, lower
loader arms to the ground, cycle all hydraulic controls to relieve pressure, and allow machine moving parts to
stop.
n Remove the ignition key to prevent an unauthorized person from starting the engine before connecting or
disconnecting the tractor or when operating, repairing, or adjusting equipment.
n Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to protection for eyes, ears, lungs,
head, hands, and feet when operating, servicing, or repairing equipment.
n Avoid wearing loose clothing or jewelry that may catch and entangle equipment moving parts.
2.5 Not Allowed Use
It is not allowed to use Victory implements for other activities than described under ‘Intended use’ in the User
Manual.
2.6 Crash Protection System
Crash protection for mower implements refers to a safety construction that tries to prevent accidents or damage
to the mower in the event of a limited crash.
WARNING!
• The crash protection referred to here, only prevents damage during the onset of a
perceived crash. Always stop immediately if the spring elements are energized.
